A'Shawn Robinson Headed To Carolina On $22.5 Million Deal
The Carolina Panthers are signing free-agent defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson to a three-year, $22.5 million deal, as reported by NFL insider Mike Garafolo. The 28-year-old was originally a second-round selection in the 2016 NFL draft by the Detroit Lions and has racked up 355 tackles, seven sacks, five forced fumbles, one interception, and 37.5 run-stuffs in 110 career games. He spent one season with the New York Giants before this year. Robinson will join forces with standout defensive lineman Derrick Brown in Carolina, but it won't make up for the departure of star pass-rusher Brian Burns, who was traded to the Giants.
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said that defensive tackle A'Shawn Robinson (knee) tore his meniscus in the Week 11 loss to the New Orleans Saints and is out for the rest of the season. Robinson is undergoing surgery on his knee. The Rams will put the 27-year-old on Injured Reserve this week. He will conclude his 2022 campaign with 42 tackles (22 solo) and three QB hits. Robinson did not manage a sack in 10 starts for LA's defense. With him out the rest of the way, look for Marquise Copeland and Michael Hoecht to see more playing time on the defensive line.
