Jayden Reed Totals 19 Yards in Preseason Opener

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed was on the field with the starters in the Packers' 28-9 loss to the Pittsburgh Steelers in the first preseason game for Green Bay. Reed, who signed a three-year extension to stay with the Packers through the 2029 season, earned two targets, catching one of them for 19 yards. Notably, per PFF's Nathan Jahnke, Reed did not play outside of 11 personnel, when three wide receivers were in the formation. The Packers played two snaps of 12 personnel with the starters in and Matthew Golden was in the game while Reed was not. That is a clear signal that things will likely remain the same for Reed as it's been in previous seasons with him being a slot-only player. Reed should be a focal point in the Packers' offense, but he's behind Tucker Kraft and potentially Golden and Christian Watson in the pecking order. The Packers' next preseason game comes on August 21st against the Denver Broncos. For fantasy football purposes, Reed is a volatile WR3 with upside for 2026.

Jayden Reed Back at Practice After Ankle Issue

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed (ankle) returned to practice Tuesday after sitting out the previous two sessions, according to Rob Demovsky. Reed's 2025 season was basically lost to injuries, so even a short August absence gets a little more attention than it otherwise might. He broke his collarbone in Week 2 and had a lingering foot injury surgically repaired at the same time, eventually finishing with 19 catches for 207 yards and one touchdown in seven games. Green Bay still showed its confidence in Reed by signing him to a contract extension in April, and he enters this season alongside Christian Watson and Matthew Golden as one of the receivers expected to lead the group. It is not yet clear how much Reed did during Tuesday's practice, so calling him a full participant would be premature. The quick return is good news for fantasy managers, and for now keeps the ankle issue from looking like a lengthy camp absence. Reed is currently No. 98 overall in RotoBaller's PPR rankings.

Jayden Reed Managing Ankle Injury

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed (ankle) has picked up an ankle injury during camp, though head coach Matt LaFleur said Sunday that it is not considered a long-term concern, according to Matt Schneidman. Reed is coming off a frustrating 2025 season in which foot and shoulder injuries limited him to seven regular-season games. He finished with 19 catches for 207 yards and one touchdown after topping 790 receiving yards in each of his first two NFL seasons. Reed eventually worked his way back late last year and remains an important piece of Green Bay's passing game, making another stretch of missed practice time something the Packers would rather avoid. No timetable has been given for his return, so his participation over the coming days will be the next thing to watch.

Jayden Reed, Matthew Golden With Rehab Group on Sunday

Green Bay Packers wide receivers Jayden Reed and Matthew Golden are not practicing in training camp on Sunday and are instead with the rehab group on the side, according to Andy Herman. It's unclear at this time what Reed and Golden are dealing with, but we'll have more information on their statuses once we know more. For now, it's something to keep an eye on, but there are no indications that they are dealing with anything significant. Along with Christian Watson, Reed and Golden are in line to start in three-receiver sets in the Packers' offense in 2026. Reed has been injury-prone early in his NFL career, and he dealt with a fractured foot and broken collarbone last year, playing in just seven regular-season games. The 26-year-old has a nose for the end zone, though, and should have career-best volume in 2026 if he can stay healthy, making him a boom/bust WR3/flex target in fantasy. Golden, a first-rounder last year, was quiet for most of his rookie campaign before turning it on late. The 23-year-old has a clear path to a Year 2 breakout, especially if Watson and Reed continue to struggle with injuries.

Jayden Reed Opens Camp Healthy After Injury-Plagued 2025

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed is healthy for the start of training camp after a foot fracture and broken collarbone limited him to seven games in 2025, according to USA Today's Packers Wire. Reed caught 19 passes for 207 yards and one touchdown last season after leading Green Bay in receiving yards in each of his first two campaigns. The Packers signed the 26-year-old to a reported three-year, $50.25 million extension in April, reinforcing his place alongside Christian Watson and Matthew Golden at the top of the receiver room. Green Bay traded Dontayvion Wicks to Philadelphia and allowed Romeo Doubs to leave in free agency, creating a more streamlined depth chart. Reed's healthy start gives him an opportunity to rebuild his timing with Jordan Love after an injury-disrupted season. His previous production creates a credible rebound case, although Watson and Golden could keep targets distributed across Green Bay's passing attack.

Jayden Reed a Potential Draft Steal if He Can Find an Expanded Role

The talents of Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed have never been in question, but a defined role that has rarely seen him outside the slot has limited his fantasy impact through his first three years in the league. Heading into 2026, the departures of Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks leave Green Bay with what appears to be a true three-man rotation of Reed, Christian Watson, and Matthew Golden. While the latter two both spent more time on the outside than Reed in two-receiver sets in 2025, neither is without their flaws. Watson has never played a full 17-game slate, missing at least seven games in two of his last three seasons, while Golden was held without a touchdown for the entirety of his first regular season. With tight end Tucker Kraft recovering well from the ACL tear that ended his breakout 2025 campaign, the Packers are again expected to heavily deploy multi-tight end sets, which could force the coaching staff's hand regarding Reed's utilization. If he continues in the same role he's held throughout the start of his career, then he will prove to be priced accurately as RotoBaller's WR44, but if he finds his way onto the field in more two-receiver sets, Reed could become one of the biggest bargains in 2026 drafts.

Jayden Reed Carries Dynasty Buy-Low Appeal in New-Look Packers WR Room

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed missed 10 games in 2025 due to collarbone and foot injuries, finishing the year with just 19 catches for 207 yards and a touchdown on 22 targets. Reed has been an efficient player when healthy in his career to date, recording over 1,900 scrimmage yards and 17 touchdowns across his first two seasons with the Packers in 2023 and 2024. However, he's struggled to see consistent target volume in the run-heavy Green Bay offense, averaging four targets per game since the start of 2024. That could change in 2026, as the Packers let wide receiver Romeo Doubs walk in free agency and traded wideout Dontayvion Wicks to the Philadelphia Eagles while signing Reed to a three-year extension this past offseason. Green Bay still has wide receivers Christian Watson and Matthew Golden, but Reed should play an important role as the team's primary slot receiver. Given the Packers' financial commitment to Reed, he could be a worthy buy-low target for dynasty managers entering 2026.

Jayden Reed Still an Unproven Dynasty Asset

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed has been one of the most frustrating fantasy assets since coming into the league as a 2023 second-round pick out of Michigan State. He is unquestionably talented, having flashed throughout his three-year career, but operating primarily out of the slot in a league trending toward fewer three-receiver sets, he's never seen the consistent usage to make him an every-week must-start player. With the Packers' leading receiver from 2025, Romeo Doubs, departing through free agency and the team committing to Reed in the form of a three-year, $50.25 million extension, it's entirely possible Green Bay envisions an expanded role for him in 2026. History, however, suggests that outside work in two-receiver sets is still more likely to go to Christian Watson and 2025 first-round pick Matthew Golden, with Reed seeing only nine career routes with fewer than three receivers on the field. Coming off a season in which he missed 10 games with a broken collarbone and never managed higher than a 65% snap share in his return, Reed has fallen to WR51 in RotoBaller's dynasty rankings.

Jayden Reed's Dynasty Value Tethered to His Underwhelming Usage

Green Bay Packers wide receiver Jayden Reed has long shown the ability to be a fantasy difference maker, but in a crowded receiver room, and with a role often limited to slot work in 11 personnel packages, he has yet to top the WR23 finish from his rookie campaign. While a broken clavicle and a separate foot injury limited him to only seven contests in 2025, his per game averages were down across the board, and only twice did he see the field for more than 25 offensive snaps. The hope for dynasty managers is that with the team's leading receiver from 2025, Romeo Doubs, departing in free agency, Reed could see an uptick in usage, but with Christian Watson another year removed from the ACL tear that ended his 2024 season, Tucker Kraft expected back at some point from a torn ACL of his own, and 2025 first-round pick Matthew Golden in line to take a step forward in year two, target competition in Green Bay could be as fierce as ever. As a player who has averaged more than 2.0 yards per route run in his career and added 6.0 yards after the catch per reception, Reed has the skills to become a fantasy staple if kept on the field, and with multiple paths toward insurance upside, he offers untapped ceiling potential, but at RotoBaller's dynasty WR51, his value reflects his commonly low floor, with Green Bay showing a ready willingness to simply remove him from game plans in favor of heavier personnel.

Jayden Reed, Packers Agree on Three-Year Extension

Wide receiver Jayden Reed and the Green Bay Packers agreed to a three-year contract extension on Friday worth $50.25 million in new money, including $20 million guaranteed, agents Drew Rosenhaus and Ian Grutman told Adam Schefter of ESPN. The 25-year-old former second-rounder (50th overall) in 2023 out of Michigan State had 119 receptions on 169 targets for 1,650 yards and 14 receiving touchdowns in 33 games in his first two NFL seasons for the Packers, adding three rushing touchdowns. Reed only played in seven games in 2025 due to injuries, though, and finished with a 19-207-1 line during the regular season. He's now locked in for several more seasons and will be a big part of Green Bay's offense in 2026 alongside Christian Watson and Matthew Golden. If healthy, Reed will have even more fantasy upside as a WR3/flex target with Romeo Doubs and Dontayvion Wicks out of town. Reed might not have the big-play abilities down the field like Watson and Golden, but he's more versatile and has proven to have a nose for the end zone in his first 40 NFL games.
