Mac Jones News
New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones, who regressed in his second NFL season in 2022, couldn't be happier that the team has chosen Alabama offensive coordinator Bill O'Brien to run the offense in 2023. The former Patriots play-caller is a perfect fit for Jones. According to sources close to Jones, he is "very" excited about the hire and "is looking forward to working with coach O'Brien." The biggest bonus is that Jones and O'Brien briefly worked together during the pre-draft process in 2021. O'Brien should tailor the offense to give Jones a better chance for success in 2023, and while Jones is very smart and accurate, he doesn't possess the kind of upside that fantasy managers are looking for in single-QB leagues. It marks the third different offensive play-caller for Jones heading into his third NFL season.
New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones completed 26-of-40 passes for 243 yards, three touchdowns, and three interceptions in Sunday's 35-23 loss to the Bills. He added five yards on four rushing attempts. The 24-year-old connected with Jakobi Meyers for a two-yard score and DeVante Parker for a pair of touchdowns in Sunday's loss. Jones threw three interceptions for the second time this year but ended the season on a high note by tossing multiple touchdown passes in three consecutive games. Jones finished with 2,997 yards, 14 touchdowns, and 11 interceptions while rushing for 97 yards and a score over 14 games in 2022. The former first-round pick will have a lot to prove next season and is considered mainly an option in superflex leagues in 2023.
New England Patriots quarterback Mac Jones has thrown a pair of touchdowns per game in back-to-back weeks. Jones has played well recently, throwing for 444 yards and a 4:0 TD: INT ratio over his last two games. The former first-round pick will look to lead New England to the playoffs with a win over Buffalo in Week 18. The 24-year-old may not have all his weapons available for Sunday's game against the Bills, as Jakobi Meyers (shoulder) and DeVante Parker (concussion) are on the injury report. Jones will have an uphill battle as the Bills rank ninth in pass DVOA, and he remains a borderline QB2 for Week 18.
