Kansas City Chiefs punter Matt Araiza (illness) has been removed from the injury report ahead of Sunday's Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles. There was some speculation that Araiza could miss this game after landing on the injury report on Thursday. Luckily, it was only a minor illness and Araiza has been cleared to play. The rookie punter has done a nice job this season with over 3,000 yards on 62 punts, but the Chiefs are hopeful they won't need him much on Sunday.
Buffalo Bills rookie punter Matt Araiza was waived by the team on Saturday, general manager Brandon Beane told members of the media. This development comes after a lawsuit alleged that Araiza and two teammates sexually assaulted a minor during the punter's senior season at San Diego State. Buffalo reportedly learned of the incident earlier this month and still awarded Araiza the punting job over Matt Haack, but now they're releasing him days after the news went public. The Bills will search for a new punter and Araiza's NFL career could be over before he played in a single regular-season game.
