Steven Sims Speaks Highly Of Houston Wide Receiver Room

Houston Texans wide receiver Steven Sims recently expressed his optimism and excitement about the new-look Houston wide receiver room. In the offseason, the Texans made a big splash and acquired the four-time Pro Bowler Stefon Diggs from the Buffalo Bills. Diggs joins a group of budding stars in Tank Dell and Nico Collins. In addition to adding Diggs, the Texans also welcomed Joe Mixon from Cincinnati to lead them on the ground. Sims expressed on KPRC Houston that, "I can't wait to get back to camp. It's going to be so much fun. I feel like there's going to be a lot of big plays a lot of fun, but it's a business, and it's work. It's time to get back to work, and I'm excited to go back to work with the group we've got I feel like from top to bottom, everybody can get it done." Diggs caught 107 passes last season, which placed him seventh in the league, Collins posed his first 1,000-yard season, and Tank Dell scored seven touchdowns in just 11 games. Second-year quarterback C.J. Stroud will be one of the first quarterbacks selected in fantasy leagues this summer due to the surplus of playmakers he has at his disposal.

Steven Sims Returning To Texans

The Houston Texans have re-signed wide receiver Steven Sims to a one-year deal on Wednesday. Sims was cut by the Texans during training camp last season but ended up joining the practice squad later in the year. He was quiet as a receiver but has been used more as a punt returner. Sims has been a dynamic returner throughout his career which is likely why the Texans decided to bring him back in 2024.

Steven Sims Gets Elevated To Active Roster

Houston Texans wide receiver Steven Sims has been elevated from the practice squad ahead of the Week 12 matchup against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The Texans are bringing up Sims as extra depth with fellow wideout Noah Brown (knee) being ruled out for this game. This is the second time that Sims has been elevated to the active roster this season. Last time, he hauled in both his targets for 25 yards during the Week 11 matchup against the Arizona Cardinals. It's hard to imagine Sims seeing enough action to warrant streaming in any fantasy formats this week.

Steven Sims Added By Houston

Free-agent wide receiver Steven Sims agreed to a deal with the Texans on Friday. The 25-year-old, who played with the Steelers last season, has appeared in 40 games during his career, pulling in 75 catches for 679 yards. He also has five career touchdowns, although he's had just one trip to the end zone in the previous three seasons. There's a chance Sims could move up the depth chart. However, he'll probably get most of his work on special teams, which won't do anything for his fantasy value.

Steven Sims Doesn't Make Final Cut

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Steven Sims joined the organization roughly a week ago. However, he won't be sticking around in Buffalo for long. The 24-year-old was unable to make the final 53-man roster. Instead, it sounds like Isaiah McKenzie, Jake Kumerow, Marquez Stevenson will fill out the rest of the depth chart. Sims might land elsewhere as a depth option, but never really a real chance at having success in Buffalo. While, Stefon Diggs, Cole Beasley, and Emmanuel Sanders are expected to see a majority of the passing reps this season.

Bills Sign Steven Sims

The Buffalo Bills signed wide receiver Steven Sims to an undisclosed deal on Wednesday after spending two seasons with the Washington Football Team. Sims was recently released by Washington after recording 34 catches for 310 yards and four touchdowns in 16 games since his rookie season in 2019. In 12 games last year, Sims had 27 receptions for 265 yards and one touchdown while also returning 30 punts for 186 yards and 35 kickoffs for 861 yards and a touchdown in the last two seasons. The move to add Sims could signal that Isaiah McKenzie's shoulder injury is serious. The 24-year-old will provide valuable receiver depth in Buffalo and could take over the return duties if McKenzie misses extended time, but he's unlikely to see enough volume on offense to be worth investing in for fantasy purposes.

Washington Releases Steven Sims Jr.

The Washington Football Team released wide receiver Steven Sims Jr. on Monday as they begin to trim their roster with the regular season approaching. In his two seasons with Washington, Sims put up 61 receptions for 575 yards and five touchdowns. The former Kansas receiver had a promising rookie season but took some steps back in 2020 with the new coaching staff. He then saw his spot on the depth chart continue to fall this offseason as Washington added Curtis Samuel in free agency and Dyami Brown in this year's draft. Sims could be added by a team who is needy at the wide receiver position, and could potentially put up some solid numbers if he is given an opportunity to play meaningful snaps. For now, he can be disregarded in all fantasy formats.

Steven Sims Jr. Impressive At Camp

Washington Football Team wide receiver Steven Sims Jr. has been working hard for a roster spot during the team's first couple weeks of training camp. Team reporter Zach Selby mentioned that Sims has really stood out so far and has strung together a few good practices in a row. His speed and ability to make contested catches will probably secure him a spot on Washington's roster as the team looks to evaluate a crowded group of wide receivers. Sims is battling for playing time behind Terry McLaurin, Curtis Samuel, Adam Humphriesand Dyami Brown, which means his impact will likely be minimal. Sims is well off the fantasy radar for now.

Steven Sims Jr. Says He Is Fully Healthy

Washington Football Team wide receiver Steven Sims Jr. said that he feels like "I've got two good wheels this year" when asked about his health heading into 2021. Sims played in 12 games last year, tallying 27 receptions for 265 yards and one touchdown. Going into his third season, head coach Ron Rivera made note of the burst he has shown this training camp, largely due to the fact he is now fully healthy. Team reporter Peter Hailey said that when Sims has the ball in his hands, he is a fantastic playmaker as he is showing what he is capable of so far at camp. Sims will likely be buried on the depth chart with a fully healthy roster, so he is not on the fantasy radar to begin the season.

Steven Sims Jr. Facing Uphill Battle In Washington

Washington Football Team wide receiver Steven Sims Jr. caught 23 passes in the final five weeks of the 2019 season and created separation with his short-field quickness. He entered last season as the team's top slot receiver, but injuries and drops (three on 39 targets) hurt him. Washington also signed Adam Humphries and drafted Dax Milne to play in the slot this offseason, putting Sims on notice. He can return punts, but there are also concerns about his ball security, making it an uphill battle for Sims this summer in training camp. Oh, and the team also added Curtis Samuel and Dyami Brown to the offense, so it's highly unlikely that Sims will see much of the field if he ends up making the team.
