Texans Re-Sign Folorunso Fatukasi

The Houston Texans re-signed defensive tackle Folorunso Fatukasi to an undisclosed deal on Wednesday, a source told ESPN's DJ Bien-Aime. Fatukasi will return to Houston after starting 11 games for the team in 2024 while helping bolster a Texans run defense that ranked ninth in fewest yards allowed (107) and eighth in yards per attempt (4.2). The 30-year-old former sixth-round pick (180th overall) by the New York Jets in 2018 out of Connecticut had only one sack in 2024 and 5.5 in his seven-year NFL career, so he's not on the IDP fantasy radar, but he led the Texans defense in run-stuff rate (4.8%) and was tied for third in run-stuff tackles (eight), according to NextGen Stats. Fatukasi dealt with injuries in his first season in Houston, playing in just 11 regular-season games while missing the final three games due to an ankle injury.

Folorunso Fatukasi Done For Week 15

Houston Texans defensive tackle Folorunso Fatukasi (ankle) has been ruled out for the remainder of Week 15 against the Miami Dolphins. He made one tackle and also committed an encroachment penalty prior to his departure. His next chance to play will come next Saturday against the Kansas City Chiefs. Mario Edwards and Tommy Togiai should earn additional snaps for the duration of Fatukasi's absence.

Foley Fatukasi Signing With Texans

The Houston Texans have reached an agreement with free-agent defensive tackle Foley Fatukasi. The 29-year-old was cut by the Jacksonville Jaguars last week. It didn't take long for Fatukasi to find a new home. He signs a one-year deal with a division rival. The veteran lineman totaled 24 tackles and three TFLs in 16 games for the Jaguars last season. He has been a viable option on the d-line over the last few seasons. Fatukasi should be a nice depth option for the Texans going into next season.

Jaguars Releasing Foley Fatukasi

The Jacksonville Jaguars are set to release defensive tackle Foley Fatukasi, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. The move saves the organization $3.5 million on the cap. Originally a sixth-round pick by the New York Jets in 2018, Fatukasi has compiled 163 tackles, 4.5 sacks, and one forced fumble in 74 career games. ESPN credits him with 33 run stuffs during his five-year NFL career (did not play as a rookie). Fatukasi started at nose tackle for the Jaguars this season and played the third-most snaps among interior defensive linemen. The franchise will look to replace him in free agency or the 2024 NFL Draft.

Jaguars Give Foley Fatukasi A Three-Year Deal

The Jacksonville Jaguars are giving defensive tackle Foley Fatukasi a three-year, $30 million deal with $20 million fully guaranteed on Monday, according to his agents. Fatukasi played a career-high in snaps in 2021 with the New York Jets and started in all 15 games he played. The 27-year-old defensive tackle finished with a career-high 46 tackles (25 solo), five tackles for loss, six QB hits and no sacks. The Jaguars were constantly gashed on the ground last season, so Fatukasi was brought in to help shore up their run defense. He will not be one to target in IDP leagues with just three sacks in his four NFL seasons (45 games).
