Kolton Miller Believed to Have Suffered a High-Ankle Sprain

Las Vegas Raiders left tackle Kolton Miller (ankle), who limped off the field on the team's final drive on Sunday in the Week 4 loss to the Chicago Bears, is believed to have suffered a high-ankle sprain, a source told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Miller was undergoing an MRI exam on Monday, but it's potentially a multi-week absence for quarterback Geno Smith's blind-side protector. Depending on the severity, high-ankle sprains can knock players out for up to four to six weeks, so this is a pretty notable injury for the Raiders' offensive line as they head into a Week 5 game against the Indianapolis Colts on the road. The 29-year-old former first-rounder could even be forced to the Injured Reserve, which requires a four-week absence. With Miller out going forward, the Raiders will be forced to start Charles Grant at left tackle.

Kolton Miller Agrees to a Contract Extension with the Raiders

Las Vegas Raiders left tackle Kolton Miller is the longest-tenured member of the Raiders, and he isn't going anywhere for a while after agreeing to a three-year contract extension worth $66 million, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. Miller originally joined the team as the No. 15 overall pick in the 2018 NFL Draft and was entering the final year of his contract before getting this new deal. He skipped the voluntary portion of the offseason program but reported to training camp and has been present for all mandatory work. This new deal establishes him as a veteran leader on the offensive line for years to come, and he'll be a key part of the team's new direction under coach Pete Carroll and GM John Spytek, who have been going younger across the board but keeping some key experience in place as well.

Kolton Miller Absent From Raiders' Voluntary Offseason Program

NFL.com's Grant Gordon reports that Las Vegas Raiders offensive tackle Kolton Miller is not at the start of the team's voluntary offseason program. Per Gordon, the veteran's absence from the team is related to his contract, or lack thereof. Miller is slated to play in the final year of his rookie deal -- set to earn a $12.2 million base salary with no money guaranteed. Despite flux elsewhere on the team, the 29-year-old has been a stalwart on the Raiders' left side since the team took him No. 15 overall in the 2021 NFL Draft. He's started 107 games for the team and has been one of the more consistent tackles in the league over that time. While it isn't yet time to ring the alarm bells due to the program's voluntary nature, the new regime will undoubtedly need to address this situation.

Kolton Miller Sitting Out Offseason Program As He Seeks Extension

Las Vegas Raiders left tackle Kolton Miller is not participating in the team's voluntary offseason program as he angles for a contract extension, sources told ESPN's Jeremy Fowler. The 29-year-old is a seven-year starter for the organization and is set to be a free agent in 2026 as he heads into the final year of a three-year, $54.015 million deal that he signed before the 2021 season. The Raiders have yet to engage in contract-extension talks with the former first-round pick (15th overall in 2018 out of UCLA. Miller started all 17 games in 2024 for the first time in his career but currently isn't being paid as one of the top 10 left tackles in terms of average annual salary. There's still plenty of time for the Raiders and Miller to work something out ahead of the start of the 2025 season, but it's unclear if Miller is prepared to hold out into training camp this summer if nothing is done by then.

Kolton Miller Should Be Ready For Week 1

Las Vegas Raiders left tackle Kolton Miller (shoulder), who is on the Physically Unable to Perform list at training camp, has been cleared by his independent doctor and is hoping to work his way back into practice action over the next week or two. Barring a setback with his shoulder injury, Miller should be ready to go for the Week 1 regular-season opener in early September. The 28-year-old suffered a shoulder injury late last season, and it's unknown if he required an offseason procedure. Either way, the former 15th overall pick in 2018 should be ready for the start of the season as the starting left tackle. This is good news for the entire Raiders' offense, especially for whoever wins the starting quarterback battle between Gardner Minshew and Aidan O'Connell.

Kolton Miller Expected To Be Ready For 2024 Season

Las Vegas Raiders offensive tackle Kolton Miller (shoulder) underwent offseason shoulder surgery in the offseason and was working with team trainers off to the side throughout organized team activities and mandatory minicamp. Andrus Peat filled in at left tackle during minicamp in Miller's place, but The Athletic's Vic Tafur doesn't sense any concern that Miller won't be ready for the start of the 2024 regular season. We'll have a better idea of his progress from shoulder surgery once training camp begins at the end of July. Even if Miller is initially eased into camp workouts, he should eventually get back on the field and will have plenty of time to get up to full speed by Week 1. The 28-year-old left tackle is a key piece of the team's offensive line and will be protecting either quarterbacks Aidan O'Connell or Gardner Minshew this fall.

Kolton Miller Out On Sunday Night

Las Vegas Raiders left tackle Kolton Miller (shoulder) won't play on Sunday night against the Jets. The 28-year-old didn't practice throughout the week and was listed as doubtful heading into this one, so his absence isn't a surprise. Without Miller in the equation, quarterback Aidan O'Connell will be without one of his top blockers, which isn't an ideal situation versus the Jets defense.

Kolton Miller To Remain At Left Tackle

Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden confirmed that Kolton Miller will remain at left tackle in 2019, while Trent Brown, who is the richest offensive lineman in NFL history, will be at right tackle. Gabe Jackson will remain at right guard. Miller struggled on the blind side in 2018, so it'll be interesting to see if he is able to make strides for Oakland in 2019. If he doesn't, it'll be bad news for the protection of quarterback Derek Carr.

Raiders Confident In Kolton Miller

Oakland Raiders head coach Jon Gruden said he's confident in rookie offensive tackle Kolton Miller as the team's starting left tackle. Miller impressed the team in training camp and has won the starting left tackle job heading into the regular season. Veteran Donald Penn will start at right tackle. Miller has a lot of responsibility in keeping quarterback Derek Carr upright in his first season.

Kolton Miller Opening As First-Team Left Tackle

Oakland Raiders rookie left tackle Kolton Miller has opened training camp as the first-team left tackle. It wouldn't be a surprise if Miller remains there through the end of camp, too. With veteran Donald Penn injured, Miller has taken the spot and could very easily run with it. Oakland's offensive line remains strong, which is good news for quarterback Derek Carr and the running game.
