Jackson Powers-Johnson Heads to Injured Reserve

Las Vegas Raiders offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson (ankle) will land on Injured Reserve and could potentially miss the rest of the 2025 season, sources told Ian Rapoport of NFL Network. Powers-Johnson suffered the serious injury in last Thursday's loss to the Denver Broncos and will be "out awhile," according to head coach Pete Carroll. Alex Cappa replaced Powers-Johnson at right guard in the Week 10 loss to Denver and will likely continue to hold down the position for the rest of the season. It's bad news for a Raiders offense that has already been struggling mightily in Carroll's first year as the head coach. They come into Week 11 against the Dallas Cowboys averaging just 87.4 rushing yards per game (fourth-fewest) and 15.4 points per game (second-fewest) in the NFL.

Jackson Powers-Johnson to Miss Extended Time With Ankle Injury

According to head coach Pete Carroll, Las Vegas Raiders offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson (ankle) is expected to "be out for a while" after picking up an injury in Thursday's 10-7 loss to the Denver Broncos. Powers-Johnson was forced from the game in the second quarter with an ankle issue and did not return, although the specifics of the injury were not detailed. Per Carroll, "He hurt his ankle, legit. I don't want to go into any of the details, but he hurt his ankle." It's a massive blow to Las Vegas' offensive line, as the former second-round pick has evolved into one of the league's premier guards. Teammate Alex Cappa replaced the 22-year-old when he went down, and figures to be the answer at the position while the latter is sidelined.

Jackson Powers-Johnson More Comfortable Heading into Year 2

Las Vegas Raiders interior offensive lineman Jackson Powers-Johnson "lost 10-15 pounds and has sharpened his fundamentals," according to Tashan Reed of The Athletic. Reed also writes that Powers-Johnson has been able to focus solely on playing center after also spending time at both guard spots as a rookie in 2024. Under new head coach Pete Carroll, much will be expected of Powers-Johnson as a tone-setter in the run game. His development will be key in the fantasy outlook for Raiders' rookie running back Ashton Jeanty. Pro Football Focus graded Powers-Johnson 56th out of 138 guards in 2024, so a moderate step up would have him as a clearly value-additive player.
