Tyler Linderbaum Joins Raiders on a Three-Year Deal

The Las Vegas Raiders have signed free-agent center Tyler Linderbaum to a three-year, $81 million deal that includes $60 million guaranteed, according to Adam Schefter of ESPN.com. The contract makes Linderbaum the highest-paid interior offensive lineman in NFL history. Linderbaum is coming off an impressive stint with the Baltimore Ravens, including a strong 2025 season in which he posted an 80.2 PFF grade (fifth-best among centers) and an 83.7 PFF run blocking grade (fourth-best among centers). His departure is big news for the Ravens, who evidently weren't willing to match Vegas' offer to keep a key protector in the trenches. With the Raiders, Linderbaum will offer key blocking in front of running back Ashton Jeanty and this year's consensus No. 1 draft pick, quarterback Fernando Mendoza.

Commanders to Pursue Tyler Linderbaum in Free Agency?

If free-agent center Tyler Linderbaum doesn't re-sign with the Baltimore Ravens this offseason, there is a belief among NFL teams that the Washington Commanders will "heavily pursue" him, multiple sources told Jordan Schultz of FOX Sports. The Commanders are looking for a new center after releasing starting center Tyler Biadasz, who quickly latched on with the Los Angeles Chargers. ESPN's Jeremy Fowler writes that Linderbaum will be "tough to keep" if he makes it to the legal tampering date on Monday. In addition to Washington, the Las Vegas Raiders, New York Giants, and Tennessee Titans could be involved in the Linderbaum market. The 25-year-old three-time Pro Bowler should easily surpass $20 million per year on his next contract. Landing Linderbaum would be a huge score for a Commanders franchise that dealt with injuries at key positions to miss the postseason after being on the doorstep of a Super Bowl appearance the year before.

Ravens Have Given Tyler Linderbaum a "Market-Setting Deal"

Baltimore Ravens general manager Eric DeCosta said that the team has given impending free-agent center Tyler Linderbaum a "market-setting deal," according to Giana Han of The Baltimore Banner. DeCosta added that in his mind, Linderbaum is the best center in the NFL. If the 25-year-old three-time Pro Bowler reaches the open market next month, he won't have a shortage of suitors from teams looking for upgrades at the center position. The former 25th overall pick out of Iowa in 2022 has been a Pro Bowler in each of the last three seasons and has only missed two regular-season games in his first four years in the NFL. If Linderbaum reaches free agency, the Los Angeles Chargers and New York Giants are expected to be his strongest suitors.

Chargers Could Make a Push to Sign Tyler Linderbaum

ESPN's Kris Rhim wouldn't be surprised to see the Los Angeles Chargers make a push to sign Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent center Tyler Linderbaum, who is one of the top projected free agents this offseason. Chargers general manager Joe Hortiz had a hand in selecting Linderbaum with the Ravens in the first round of the 2022 NFL draft. The 25-year-old was the NFL's second-best pass-blocking center in pass-block win rate (97.2%) last year. The 2026 franchise tag for linemen is $27.9 million, which would be almost $10 million more than Creed Humphrey's league-high deal at the position. The New York Giants, who are now coached by former Ravens head coach John Harbaugh, are another team that could make a play to sign Linderbaum and move John Michael Schmitz Jr. into a utility role. The Cleveland Browns, now coached by former Baltimore offensive coordinator Todd Monken, need serious O-line help and are another potential landing spot for Linderbaum.

Tyler Linderbaum Viewed as One of the Best Free Agents This Year

Baltimore Ravens impending free-agent center Tyler Linderbaum is the team's top free agent this year and is also viewed as one of the five best pending free agents in the NFL, according to The Athletic's Jeff Zrebiec. If Linderbaum reaches the open market, he won't have a shortage of suitors, and Zrebiec thinks he's "primed to eclipse Kansas City's Creed Humphrey ($18 million per year) as the NFL's highest-paid center." The 25-year-old former 25th overall pick in 2022 out of Iowa has been a Pro Bowler in three of his four years in the league. He's still only 25 years old and has missed just two games in his career due to injuries. Linderbaum has proven to be a strong run-blocker and possesses all the intangibles that teams look for in offensive linemen. The one knock against him is that he's undersized at 6-foot-2, 305 pounds. If the Ravens don't bring him back, it will likely be because they just have too many other holes to fill on the roster.

Ravens Won't Pick Up Fifth-Year Option On Tyler Linderbaum

The Baltimore Ravens announced on Wednesday that they will not be picking up the fifth-year option on center Tyler Linderbaum. However, general manager Eric DeCosta said the organization is open to working out a new deal for the 25-year-old former 25th overall pick int he 2022 NFL draft out of Iowa. Unless the two sides work out a long-term contract extension, Linderbaum will be eligible for free agency following the 2025 season. He was a Pro Bowler in each of the last two seasons for the Ravens and has started all 49 games that he's appeared in over his three NFL seasons in Baltimore. Linderbaum was hampered by a back injury last year but managed to play in all 17 regular-season games. It sounds like the Ravens plan on keeping Linderbaum beyond this season.

Tyler Linderbaum Deemed Questionable For Monday Night

Per Cordell Woodland of 105.7 The Fan Baltimore, Baltimore Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum (back) is officially questionable for Monday night's matchup against the Los Angeles Chargers. The former first-round pick popped up on Baltimore's Friday practice report with a back injury and was listed as a non-participant. He'd improve his practice participation to be limited on Saturday, but his status for Monday Night Football is in question. The 24-year-old has missed just two games since being drafted No. 25 overall in the 2022 NFL Draft. If he can't suit up, Nick Samac will pick up the slack for Baltimore's offensive line.

Tyler Linderbaum Expected To Practice On Friday

Baltimore Ravens center Tyler Linderbaum (foot) is expected to return to practice on Friday, according to head coach John Harbaugh. The No. 25 overall selection of the 2022 NFL Draft suffered a foot injury on August 4, although fortunately, it wasn't a Lisfranc issue, negating previous reports. Harbaugh will take it day-by-day with the rookie regarding his activity level, likely keeping him restricted to individual drills in the meantime. However, Linderbaum isn't a lock for Week 1, which isn't ideal for Lamar Jackson and company

Tyler Linderbaum Has Reoccurrence Of Lisfranc Injury

Baltimore Ravens rookie first-round center Tyler Linderbaum (foot) had a reoccurrence of a Lisfranc injury, suffering a sprain and not a rupture. More tests are coming for the 22-year-old at training camp. There's still a chance that he could be ready for Week 1 of the regular season, but it's not a guarantee at this point. Linderbaum's current foot issue isn't believed to be as serious as the one he suffered while in college. If everything works out well, he could be ready to play in the team's second preseason game on Aug. 21 at the Arizona Cardinals.

Tyler Linderbaum Likely Out A Few Weeks

Baltimore Ravens first-round rookie center Tyler Linderbaum (foot) was injured in Friday's training camp practice and had an MRI exam that didn't show any real concerns. However, head coach John Harbaugh said that Linderbaum will likely be out for a week or two, which probably means he won't play in next Thursday's preseason opener against the Tennessee Titans. Centers Patrick Mekari, Trystan Colon and Jimmy Murray will get more playing time in training camp at the position until Linderbaum returns to action. The 22-year-old could return for the team's second preseason game against the Arizona Cardinals on Aug. 21.
