Anaheim Ducks right wing Troy Terry is considered day-to-day with a lower-body injury. The Ducks star had a maintenance day on Monday and didn't practice on Tuesday, leaving his status for Wednesday's preseason game against Utah up in the air. Terry has been among the Ducks' top scorers in three consecutive campaigns and will continue to play a key role for the team in 2024-25 once he returns to full health. The two-time All-Star notched 54 points (20 goals, 34 assists) in 76 games last season.

Montreal Canadiens forward Patrik Laine (knee) will miss the first 2-3 months of the new NHL campaign. Following a knee-on-knee collision with an opposing player in Saturday's preseason game against Toronto, Laine has been diagnosed with a sprained left knee. This is a horrible blow for Laine, who missed time with a broken clavicle a season ago and skated in only 18 games. New York Rangers left wing Artemi Panarin (lower body) will make his return to the lineup in Tuesday's preseason game against New Jersey. The Russian star has been nursing a lower-body injury since getting hurt in a clash with the Islanders on Sept. 24. Panarin will skate with Vincent Trocheck and Alexis Lafreniere on Tuesday. Boston Bruins goaltender Joonas Korpisalo will likely be between the sticks when the team begins the new campaign against Florida on Oct. 8. Star goalie Jeremy Swayman, who is a restricted free agent, remains unsigned by the Bruins, and head coach Jim Montgomery has been impressed by Korpisalo in preseason. The Finnish netminder had a 21-26-4 record with the Ottawa Senators last term, allowing 3.27 goals with a .890 save percentage. It was a struggle for him throughout the campaign, but Korpisalo looks primed for a bounce-back campaign in 2024-25, as he will be playing behind a much stronger team.

Following a disappointing 15-point campaign in L.A., Lizotte signed a two-year, $3.7 million contract with the Penguins this offseason. The 26-year-old is projected to start the season as the team's fourth-line center. However, Sunday's incident could derail those plans.

However, he's set to rejoin the action on Monday, with Jonathan Huberdeau and Yegor Sharangovich as his linemates. Granlund worked on a line with Will Smith and Fabian Zetterlund. The Finnish forward led a struggling Sharks team in assists (48) and points (60) last season despite missing 13 games.
