Juraj Slafkovsky Practices On Monday

Montreal Canadiens winger Juraj Slafkovsky (head) practiced on Monday. Slafkovsky made an early exit against Pittsburgh on Saturday night, leaving his status questionable ahead of the new week. However, he has escaped serious injury and looks set to remain in the lineup on Tuesday versus Calgary. Slafkovsky has already missed some time with an upper-body injury this season, skating in nine games. He has been limited to one goal with 14 shots but boasts seven assists. In recent games, Slafkovsky has skated on the second line while logging time with the first power-play unit. The Canadiens face a 72.6 percent penalty kill on Tuesday.

Juraj Slafkovsky Returns To Action Tuesday

Montreal Canadiens winger Juraj Slafkovsky (upper body) will be back in action against Seattle on Tuesday. Slafkovsky has been out for three games with an upper-body injury. It was initially reported that Slafkovsky had hurt his shoulder, but he denied this Tuesday morning, calling his upper-body ailment simply a "weird injury." The 20-year-old has had a productive start to the campaign, averaging a point per contest in six outings. He sits on one goal and five assists with seven shots. Despite Slafkovsky's return, Kirby Dach will maintain a top-line role versus the Kraken. Slafkovsky will join Alex Newhook and Joel Armia on the second line.

Juraj Slafkovsky To Miss At Least One Week

Montreal Canadiens winger Juraj Slafkovsky (shoulder) will be re-evaluated in a week. After getting hurt in practice, Slafkovsky was able to play through a shoulder injury at the weekend against the Islanders, but he will come out of the lineup for Tuesday's matchup against the Rangers. Kirby Dach will move to the first line in Slafkovsky's absence. Dach has yet to get going this campaign, recording zero goals and one assist in six games with a minus-eight rating. He's in a better spot to make an impact on Tuesday.

Juraj Slafkovsky Hurts Shoulder In Friday's Practice

Montreal Canadiens winger Juraj Slafkovsky injured his left shoulder in Friday's practice. Slafkovsky may now miss his first game of the season on Saturday when Montreal plays the Islanders, although he has traveled with the team. An injury that takes him out of the lineup would be a very unfortunate setback for Slafkovsky, as the 20-year-old has had a fine start to the season. With five games played, Slafkovsky has contributed one goal and three assists while delivering a team-high 18 hits. Josh Anderson or Brendan Gallagher might step into the top six in Slafkovsky's absence on Saturday, with a tweak to the first power-play unit then also required.

Juraj Slafkovsky Pots First Career Hat Trick

Montreal Canadiens left wing Juraj Slafkovsky produced his first career hat trick as the team demolished Philadelphia 9-3 on Tuesday. He opened the scoring with just 1:05 played and grabbed two more goals in the second period. Slafkovsky is now one of only six players to score a hat trick with the Canadiens at age 20 or younger. Following a tough start in the NHL, Slafkovsky has finally started to produce at a high level -- he's gone scoreless just twice in his last 14 appearances. The first pick of the 2022 draft has tallied 19 goals and 49 points in 78 games for the season.

Juraj Slafkovsky Gets Another Pair Of Points Friday

Montreal Canadiens winger Juraj Slafkovsky posted a goal and an assist in Friday's 5-2 win over the Chicago Blackhawks. Slafkovsky buried one late in the second period to give the Habs a lead they would never surrender, giving the sophomore the game-winning goal. After a bumpy rookie season and a disappointing start to this campaign, Slafkovsky might be on the verge of turning things around, as the 19-year-old has four points in his last two games. He has been playing on the Habs' first line with Cole Caufield and Nick Suzuki and has also been getting time on the top powerplay unit, which seems to be helping Slafkovsky out. He's not a bad flier in redraft leagues, especially deeper ones, and should be owned in all dynasty formats.

Juraj Slafkovsky Ready To Bounce Back In 2023-24

Montreal Canadiens left wing Juraj Slafkovsky has promised to play better next season than he did during his rookie campaign. After getting selected first overall in last year's draft, the Slovakian teenager posted only four goals and six assists in 39 appearances before a knee injury ended his debut campaign in January. "I expect the pressure from the fans to be even higher," Slafkovsky told Slovak hockey insider Tomas Prokop. "I believe I'm well prepared, and I'll play better than in my rookie season. I have my goals, but I'll keep them secret." Slafkovsky's debut season was a big disappointment, but he also didn't play much, averaging only 12:12 of ice time per game. With more minutes and confidence, better stats should eventually follow.

Juraj Slafkovsky Ruled Out For Three Months

Montreal Canadiens winger Juraj Slafkovsky (lower body) has been ruled out for the next three months. The Canadiens announced the news after last year's No. 1 pick of the draft had already missed one game with a lower-body injury. Slafkovsky could in fact now be done for the whole season, with Montreal's final regular-season game scheduled for April 13. If he indeed can't return, the 18-year-old will end his disappointing rookie campaign with four goals and six assists. Before getting hurt, Slafkovsky was able to skate in 39 games and had 42 shots on goal with 53 hits, 24 blocks and a minus-13 rating.

Juraj Slafkovsky Nursing A Lower-Body Injury

Montreal Canadiens winger Juraj Slafkovsky sustained a lower-body injury in Sunday's clash with the Rangers. He was able to log just 9:04 of action in the game and finished with two shots on goal, two penalty minutes and a minus-one rating. The No. 1 pick is now under evaluation to determine his status for Tuesday's matchup against Winnipeg. Slafkovsky has had a very quiet rookie campaign with only four goals and six assists in 39 games. He has mostly logged bottom-six minutes, averaging 12:12 of ice time. The 18-year-old has been on a miserable 15-game point drought since mid-December, so having some time off might actually be good for Slafkovsky.

Juraj Slafkovsky Suspended For Two Games

Montreal Canadiens left wing Juraj Slafkovsky has been suspended for two games. The 18-year-old sent Detroit's Matt Luff flying face-first into the boards with a hit from behind late in the third period in Tuesday's 3-2 win. Slafkovsky was given a major penalty and game misconduct for boarding, and he has now received his first career suspension after playing in only 10 games. He will be eligible to return in next Tuesday's matchup against New Jersey. The top pick of this year's draft has been skating on the fourth line for Montreal, averaging just a little over 11 minutes per game. Slafkovsky has been able to get three goals in limited action but no assists.

Juraj Slafkovsky Returns To Canadiens Lineup

Montreal Canadiens left wing Juraj Slafkovsky (upper body) will be back in action on Saturday against St. Louis. The No. 1 draft pick has been forced to miss three games with an upper-body injury. He is slated to skate on the fourth line with Jake Evans and Michael Pezzetta, who is getting his season debut. Joel Armia (upper body) is also set for his first minutes of the campaign, with Jonathan Drouin, Rem Pitlick and Evgenii Dadonov scratched. Slafkovsky registered his first career goal just before he got injured, which should give him some confidence and momentum, but fantasy managers still need to be very patient with the 18-year-old.

Juraj Slafkovsky Misses Monday's Practice, Out Tuesday

Montreal Canadiens left wing Juraj Slafkovsky (upper body) wasn't able to practice on Monday and will miss a second consecutive game Tuesday against Minnesota. Slafkovsky is still undergoing medical testing and it's not known when he will be ready to return. The team has listed him as day-to-day, so it doesn't look like Slafkovsky is dealing with anything serious, but you really never know until the doctors have had their say on the issue. The first pick of this year's draft had just scored his first career goal before dropping out of the lineup Saturday against Dallas. He was replaced by Rem Pitlick, who had an uneventful evening and doesn't offer anything to fantasy managers.

Juraj Slafkovsky Will Not Play Against Stars

Montreal Canadiens forward Juraj Slafkovsky (upper body) will not play against the Stars on Saturday night as he has an upper-body injury, and he is currently listed as day-to-day. The first overall pick in the 2022 NHL Draft scored his first career goal in Thursday's 6-2 win against the Coyotes. Slafkovsky will be replaced on the fourth line by forward Rem Pitlick, who was a healthy scratch for three games. Slafkovsky will have limited fantasy value in redraft formats for the 2022-23 NHL season, but the 18-year-old should be rostered across all dynasty and keeper formats for his long-term potential.

Juraj Slafkovsky Secures Roster Spot For The Start Of The Season

Montreal Canadiens left wing Juraj Slafkovsky survived the final roster cut ahead of the new NHL season and he will make his debut on Wednesday against Toronto. The team has some injury issues and it will allow Slafkovsky to start life in the NHL on a line with Christian Dvorak and Brendan Gallagher. The No. 1 pick of this year's draft should be eager to impress after his preseason didn't go too well. He picked up only two points in six preseason games and Canadiens general manager Kent Hughes even called Slafkovsky's play "a little underwhelming". The 18-year-old has high expectations on his shoulders, but fantasy managers will definitely need to have a lot of patience with him.
