Andrei Svechnikov News
Carolina Hurricanes winger Andrei Svechnikov played his part in Monday's comeback victory against the Islanders with two assists. A poor start put Carolina in a 3-0 hole, but the team found a way to turn the game on its head and grabbed a 2-0 series lead with a 5-3 victory. Svechnikov came up with his first assist when Sebastian Aho tied the game at the 17:45 mark in the third period, and he collected his second helper on Jake Guentzel's empty-net goal. These are Svechnikov's first points of the series. He's sitting on the top line with Aho and Guentzel and should do a lot more damage in the 2024 playoffs.
Carolina Hurricanes winger Andrei Svechnikov (upper body) could be back from a five-game absence on Thursday versus Colorado. He's been out of the lineup with an upper-body injury since Jan. 19. Getting Svechnikov back would give the Hurricanes a nice boost, as the Russian winger has been in fantastic form this season. Through 29 appearances, he's contributed 11 goals and 19 assists, firing off 71 shots on goal. Svechnikov has played a big role in Carolina's power-play efficiency, which is the second-best in the league at 28.2 percent -- 14 of his 30 points have come with the man advantage.
Carolina Hurricanes winger Andrei Svechnikov (upper body) will remain sidelined for Thursday's matchup against New Jersey. The Russian forward must sit out a third consecutive game due to an upper-body injury. Michael Bunting has claimed a regular top-six role without Svechnikov, while Jordan Martinook also saw time on the first line with Sebastian Aho and Teuvo Teravainen on Wednesday versus the Bruins. The trio produced a late game-winning goal in a tight 3-2 contest
Carolina Hurricanes winger Andrei Svechnikov will miss Sunday's contest against Minnesota with an upper-body injury. Michael Bunting will replace him on the top line. Svechnikov exits the lineup following an impressive spell that saw him register seven multi-point efforts across 11 games. He's amassed 30 points (11 goals, 19 assists) in 29 games for the season overall. Bunting also enjoyed a multi-point outing last time out against Detroit, but he's struggled for consistency in recent weeks. However, an opportunity to skate with Carolina's top scorer, Sebastian Aho, puts him in a great position to regain momentum.
