Dean Kremer Set To Start On Friday

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Dean Kremer (forearm) is scheduled to take the mound against the Tampa Bay Rays on Friday. This comes less than a week after Kremer was hit in the forearm by a comebacker on the mound. Luckily, it appears Kremer is fine and he should be able to handle his normal workload on the mound. This season, Kremer holds a 4.51 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and 99/44 K/BB ratio across 20 starts. He could have some low-end streaming appeal for fantasy managers looking for pitching help. He'll look to rebound after giving up four earned runs in his last outing.

Dean Kremer To Return From Injured List And Start Wednesday

Baltimore Orioles right-hander Dean Kremer (triceps) will return from the 15-day injured list to start on Wednesday against the Seattle Mariners. Right-hander Corbin Burnes will make his next start on Thursday after missing the team's series over the weekend while on the paternity list. Kremer will return to the rotation in Baltimore after missing the last six weeks with a triceps injury, so it shouldn't come as a surprise that we wouldn't recommend him as a streamer this week in his first start back against Seattle. The 28-year-old also didn't look very good in three minor-league rehab starts for Triple-A Norfolk, pitching to an 11.42 ERA with four home runs allowed and nine strikeouts in 8 2/3 innings pitched. Kremer had been up and down in nine starts before going on the IL this year with a 3-4 record, 4.32 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with a 49:18 K:BB in 50 innings.

Dean Kremer May Need Another Rehab Start

Baltimore Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said that right-hander Dean Kremer (triceps) not making it past the first inning in his minor-league rehab start for Triple-A Norfolk on Saturday was "not ideal." The low pitch count may require Kremer to make another rehab start before he's activated from the injured list and returns to Baltimore's starting rotation. The 28-year-old went 3 2/3 innings in his first rehab start but didn't get out of the first frame on Saturday while throwing 39 pitches. His short outing over the weekend means he probably is going to need another rehab assignment and won't make his return to the O's rotation until early July. When healthy, Kremer can be an effective deep-league streamer. He's currently 3-4 with a 4.32 ERA, 1.12 WHIP and a 49:18 K:BB in 50 innings and nine starts. Kremer's 23.7% strikeout rate is his highest since his rookie year in 2020.

Dean Kremer May Need Rehab Starts

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Dean Kremer's (triceps) injury is not a long-term concern, according to general manager Mike Elias, who said on Friday that the hurler could return before the end of June. Kremer may need to go on a minor-league rehab assignment before he rejoins Baltimore's banged-up rotation, though. The 28-year-old right-hander is recovering from a strained right triceps and owns a respectable 4.32 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 49:18 K:BB, and a career-best .204 batting average against across nine starts (50 innings) for the O's this year, but fantasy managers should be able to find stashes with more overall upside on waiver wires. For the time being, veterans Albert Suarez and Cole Irvin are both worth considering as streaming options in favorable matchups.

Dean Kremer Expected To Play Catch Soon

Baltimore Orioles manager Brandon Hyde said prior to Tuesday's game against the division-rival Boston Red Sox that starting pitcher Dean Kremer (triceps) is continuing to improve. Kremer isn't experiencing as much soreness as he recovers from a strained right triceps, and he's expected to play catch "soon." The 28-year-old right-hander is a streaming option in fantasy when healthy, as evidenced by his serviceable 4.32 ERA, 1.12 WHIP, 49:18 K:BB, and a career-best .204 average against over nine starts (50 innings) in 2024, but that doesn't mean he's a must-stash player. Veterans Albert Suarez and Cole Irvin will help plug up Baltimore's banged-up rotation in the meantime, and both hurlers will be worth streaming during the upcoming weekend set at home against the Tampa Bay Rays.

Orioles Place Dean Kremer On 15-Day Injured List

The Baltimore Orioles placed right-hander Dean Kremer (triceps) on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to May 21) on Friday with a right-triceps strain and recalled pitchers Dillon Tate and Nick Vespi from Triple-A Norfolk in corresponding moves. Additionally, pitcher Jonathan Heasley was optioned to Norfolk. The Orioles placed lefty John Means (forearm) on the IL on Thursday, so Baltimore's rotation depth has taken a big hit this week. It is unclear if the 28-year-old Kremer will be able to return to the rotation when he's eligible in early June. Kremer has been serviceable in his nine starts this year, going 3-4 with a 4.32 ERA and 1.12 WHIP with 49 strikeouts and 18 walks over 50 innings pitched. It's unclear who might take Kremer's spot in the big-league rotation, but Albert Suarez feels like the best bet.

Dean Kremer Cruises To Third Straight Win

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Dean Kremer struck out six in a dominating fashion on Sunday in the 11-1 win against the Cincinnati Reds. Kremer continued racking up the strikeouts while recording his third-straight win, moving to 3-2 on the season. He pitched six scoreless innings, allowing just one hit and a walk while striking out six. Kremer holds a 3.57 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and a 37:11 K: BB in seven starts. Since getting torched for eight runs by the Brewers on April 13, Kremer has bounced back and allowed seven runs (2.63 ERA) over his previous four starts (24 innings). The 28-year-old next projected start is against the Arizona Diamondbacks, who have had more difficulties against right-handed pitchers this season, making Kremer a solid streamer in most league formats.

Dean Kremer Logs Quality Start On Tuesday

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Dean Kremer tossed seven innings of two-run ball on Tuesday against the New York Yankees en route to his second victory of the season. Kremer's damage came from two solo home runs, one from backstop Austin Wells in the third inning and the other off outfielder Juan Soto in the sixth. This was the second time this season that Kremer threw seven innings, and he now sits with a 4.19 ERA and 1.08 WHIP. The 28-year-old has now won back-to-back starts and hopes to keep the momentum rolling as he lined up to face the Cincinnati Reds on Sunday, May 5th.

Dean Kremer Throws Seven Sharp Innings in Series Finale

Baltimore Orioles starting pitcher Dean Kremer threw seven innings of one-run ball in a 3-2 loss against the Pittsburgh Pirates on Sunday. Kremer kept the Bucs at bay as he allowed five hits and one unearned run with six strikeouts. Kremer looked sharp across the first four frames, only allowing three hits. In the fifth, Edward Olivares was able to score but only reached scoring position due to a throwing error. Kremer then locked it down by only allowing one base runner over his last two innings. The Orioles were unable to hold the lead for Kremer, leaving him with a no-decision. Kremer struggled in his first start of the season as he allowed three runs in five innings, but he looked sharp today. The 28-year-old tentatively lines up for a home start against the Milwaukee Brewers on April 13.

Dean Kremer To Start In Game 3 Of ALDS

Baltimore Orioles right-hander Dean Kremer will take the mound for Game 3 of the American League Division Series on Wednesday in Texas as the Orioles look to stave off elimination after losing the first two games of the best-of-five series. It will be Kremer's first postseason appearance after allowing just seven runs (four earned) on 11 hits while walking five and striking out 16 in 13 2/3 innings in his last three starts of the regular season against the Rays, Guardians and Red Sox. The 27-year-old faced the Rangers once this year on May 27 and took the loss after giving up three runs while walking two and striking out five in 6 1/3 innings of work. Kremer was slightly better on the road (3.73 ERA, 1.39 WHIP) than at home (4.38 ERA, 1.26 WHIP) in 2023, but it will be a tough task against a hot Rangers offense.
