Kody Clemens' Power Belongs on 12-Team Rosters

Minnesota Twins infielder/outfielder Kody Clemens is batting .243/.299/.488 with 18 home runs, 49 RBI, and seven stolen bases across 338 at-bats. He needs one more homer to match the career-high 19 he set last season, and the underlying contact supports the power. Clemens owns a 92.7 mph average exit velocity, 47.1% hard-hit rate, and 12.2% barrel rate, so this is more than a brief hot streak. A .250 expected average suggests his current mark is reasonable, although a 23.0% strikeout rate can still lead to uneven stretches. Clemens has appeared at first base, second base, and all three outfield positions, with Yahoo eligibility at 1B/2B/OF. Yahoo managers have passed on him in 61% of leagues, while RotoBaller ranks him 59th in its Week 18 waiver rankings with an add recommendation for 12-team formats. Managers seeking power and lineup flexibility should roster him at that depth.

Kody Clemens Delivering Career-Best Power, Remains Elite Waiver Wire Target

Minnesota Twins first baseman Kody Clemens has produced career-best numbers across the board through 86 games this season. Although he has cooled off recently with just two hits over his last seven games, Clemens is still slashing .241/.300/.492 with a .792 OPS. His 18 home runs are already one shy of his career high, and his steady power production does not appear to be slowing down. His 92.8 mph average exit velocity ranks in the 93rd percentile as he continues to pull the ball in the air with authority. Clemens appears to have taken the next step in his first full season with the Twins and remains an elite power threat for fantasy managers searching the waiver wire.

Kody Clemens Snaps Hitless Streak With Two-Homer Game on Saturday

Minnesota Twins infielder/outfielder Kody Clemens came into Saturday's game against the Chicago Cubs on an 0-for-19 skid at the plate. He ended his recent slump in a big way, going 2-for-4 at the plate with two solo home runs and two strikeouts to provide the only offense for the Twins in their 6-2 loss at Wrigley Field. Not only did his two-homer outing snap a long hitless stretch, but both of his dingers came off lefty Matthew Boyd, and he now has four homers off southpaws in 2026. The 30-year-old left-handed batter is now slashing .243/.302/.495 with a .797 OPS, 18 home runs, 48 RBI, 47 runs scored, and six stolen bases in his 309 at-bats on the year. Clemens needs just two homers to set a new career high after slugging 19 round-trippers with the Twins and Philadelphia Phillies in 2025. He may only be hitting .250 (12-for-48) in 12 games in July, but he also has a .929 OPS with five homers, two doubles, a triple, 13 RBI, and 10 runs scored in 53 plate appearances. Clemans has become a waiver-wire target for his power breakout in 2026, and he's rostered in less than half of Yahoo leagues.

Kody Clemens Still a Waiver Target for Power Going into Second Half

Minnesota Twins infielder/outfielder Kody Clemens heads into this week's All-Star break only four home runs shy of a new career high in that category. The 30-year-old veteran has a .243/.303/.482 slash line with a .785 OPS, 16 home runs, 46 RBI, 45 runs scored, and six stolen bases in 301 at-bats at the halfway mark in what has turned out to be a career year in his first full season in Minnesota (fifth in the majors). The former third-round pick by the Detroit Tigers in the 2018 MLB draft out of the University of Texas at Austin homered in three straight games to begin the month of July and had a span of five home runs and 12 RBI in eight games from June 26 through July 4. Clemens went hitless in 17 plate appearances with an RBI, a run scored, a walk, and seven strikeouts across four games going into the All-Star break, but that shouldn't take away from the fact that he's a sneaky waiver-wire addition for power-hungry fantasy managers going into the second half of the season. Clemens is rostered in just under half of Yahoo leagues, so he's widely available. Making him more attractive is the fact that he's eligible at first base, second base, and the outfield in those same formats.

Kody Clemens Providing Sneaky Power in Deep Leagues

Minnesota Twins infielder/outfielder Kody Clemens has essentially been an everyday player for the Twins since late April, and although his overall numbers don't jump off the page, he has provided value for fantasy managers in deeper leagues for his power stroke from the left side of the plate. In 68 games and 266 plate appearances this year in his first full season with the Twins, Clemens is slashing .241/.307/.461 with a .767 OPS, 11 home runs, 30 RBI, 32 runs scored, and a career-high six stolen bases. The 30-year-old former third-round pick by the Detroit Tigers in 2018 out of the University of Texas at Austin has cooled off a bit of late, going 6-for-34 (.176) with a homer, two doubles, five RBI, three runs, three walks, and eight strikeouts in his last eight games, but he's batting .256 (20-for-78) in 20 June ballgames with five homers, five doubles, 12 RBI, 12 runs scored, and a stolen base. As long as he continues to play regularly in Minnesota, Clemens will be on the deep-league radar for his power, and he also provides eligibility at first base, second base, and the outfield in Yahoo leagues.

Kody Clemens Stays Hot With Two-Homer Performance on Thursday

Minnesota Twins utility man Kody Clemens remained hot at the dish in Thursday night's 8-6 loss to the division-rival Kansas City Royals at Target Field, going 2-for-4 with two solo home runs out of the three-hole in the batting order. The strong effort at the plate raised his season batting average to .236 and his OPS to .771. Both of the 30-year-old's homers came off Royals veteran starter Seth Lugo, and this was the second multi-homer game of his career. The son of former All-Star hurler Roger Clemens is now hitting .236/.311/.460 with a .771 OPS, eight home runs, 20 RBI, 23 runs scored, and five stolen bases across his 174 at-bats in his first full season with the Twins. In his last 11 games since May 24, Clemens has gone 11-for-44 (.250) with four home runs, a double, two triples, eight RBI, and seven runs scored. There isn't much of a fantasy ceiling to be had here, but Clemens has been swinging the bat well of late and is eligible at first, second, and the outfield in Yahoo leagues, where he is rostered in 4% of leagues.

Trevor Larnach, Kody Clemens Out on Thursday

Minnesota Twins second baseman Kody Clemens and outfielder Trevor Larnach are taking a seat on Thursday for their team's series finale with the visiting Texas Rangers. With a matinee the day after a night game, it's just a normal day off for them. Teammate Royce Lewis will be the DH and bat fifth, with Willi Castro manning right field (sixth), and Brooks Lee occupying the keystone (seventh). Neither player has really stood out with their bat this season, though it's worth noting that Clemens' underlying metrics are at least intriguing. Despite a .221 average in 2025, the 29-year-old has significantly improved his quality of contact and is vastly underperforming his xBA (.288) and xSLG (.576).

Kody Clemens Walks it Off to Finish Suspended Game

Minnesota Twins infielder Kody Clemens was the hero for the Twins in their 6-5 win over the division-rival Cleveland Guardians to finish off a suspended game from the series opener on Monday. Clemens hit a two-out, walk-off RBI double in the bottom of the ninth inning at Target Field in a rain-soaked game. The 29-year-old came off the bench in this one as a pinch-hitter but finished 2-for-3 while also hitting an RBI triple in the fourth inning that broke a tie. The Twins have now won 10 straight home games and 14 of 15 overall during their torrid stretch of baseball after a slow start in 2025. It's their first 10-game home winning streak since moving to Target Field in 2010. Clemens entered Wednesday's action with a .256/.347/.535 slash line with an .882 OPS, three homers, eight RBI and seven runs in 43 at-bats as a utility player for the Twins.

Kody Clemens Could Be Put On The Trade Block

According to Matt Gelb of The Athletic, the Philadelphia Phillies could seek a trade partner for infielder Kody Clemens. According to Gelb, the Phillies have several infield left-handed bats which could make it difficult for Clemens to make the roster. Gelb further noted that if Clemens has a successful camp he could be put on the trade block. This means that Weston Wilson and Buddy Kennedy would have a more favorable chance to break the Opening Day roster. Last summer, Clemens held a .219/.258/.447 line with five home runs and nine doubles across 44 games. The 28-year-old holds a career .200/.246/.373 line across three major league seasons. Even if Clemens does make the Opening Day roster, he should not be on your fantasy radar given his lack of stable success in the majors.

Kody Clemens, Johan Rojas Back With Phillies And Starting Friday

The Philadelphia Phillies reinstated infielder Kody Clemens (back) from the 10-day injured list and also recalled outfielder Johan Rojas from Triple-A Lehigh Valley on Friday with both first baseman Bryce Harper (hamstring) and outfielder/designated hitter Kyle Schwarber (groin) going on the 10-day IL. Clemens will make the start at first base and bat sixth, while Rojas is in center field and hitting ninth for the Phillies on Friday versus the visiting Miami Marlins and right-hander Kyle Tyler, who is making just his second major-league start. Clemens, who is returning from a bout with back spasms, should start regularly for the Phils at first against right-handed pitchers for however long Harper is out, driving up his value in NL-only leagues. Rojas should also see more action with Schwarber on the IL after going 13-for-34 with Lehigh Valley after his demotion.
