Walker Jenkins Still Worth Stashing Amid IL Stint?

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Walker Jenkins (shoulder) is currently on the injured list, but he remains an intriguing option to stash in fantasy baseball as he approaches his return to action. Jenkins was a first-round pick out of high school in 2023, and he has quickly ascended to the upper tier of the minors. Across 25 games prior to his injury, he was slashing .256/.396/.389 with two home runs, five steals, a 17.1% walk rate, a 16.2% strikeout rate, and 111 wRC+. Jenkins isn't a major power threat, as he only went yard 10 times last year. However, his speed and on-base skills still make him a very intriguing prospect to stash in fantasy baseball. Assuming he returns to game action by the end of May, we wouldn't be shocked to see Jenkins get called up to the majors in June. He currently ranks as the #3 outfield prospect in our latest redraft rankings.

Is Walker Jenkins Still Worth Stashing During IL Stint?

Minnesota Twins top prospect Walker Jenkins was placed on the 7-day injured list earlier in May with a Grade 2 shoulder sprain. At the time of the injury, the team announced that they would re-evaluate him in at least 10 days. While the team has yet to provide an update, it appears Jenkins will remain on the shelf for at least another week. The 21-year-old is considered the No. 11-ranked prospect in all of baseball on MLB.com and was in the mix to earn an early promotion to the major leagues. He began the campaign with St. Paul, where he appeared in 25 games and posted a .256/.396/.389 slash line with six doubles, two home runs, five stolen bases, and a strong 19:18 K:BB. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his status as he could re-emerge as a top stash option once he returns to the diamond.

Walker Jenkins Diagnosed with Grade 2 AC Joint Sprain

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Walker Jenkins (shoulder) has been diagnosed with a Grade 2 AC joint sprain in his left shoulder and will be re-evaluated in 10 days to further determine his return timeline, per Dan Hayes of The Athletic. Jenkins suffered the injury by colliding with the outfield wall while playing in a game with Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday. The 21-year-old is widely considered one of the best prospects in all of baseball and was hitting .256/.396/.389 with two home runs, nine RBI, 15 runs scored, and five stolen bases across 111 plate appearances at Triple-A before getting injured. While it's still possible that Jenkins will make his MLB debut in 2026, this injury will undoubtedly set him back. Fantasy managers should check back in 10 days once Jenkins is given a firmer return timeline.

Walker Jenkins Suffers Shoulder Injury at Triple-A

Minnesota Twins top prospect Walker Jenkins (shoulder) suffered an apparent left-shoulder injury after crashing into the center-field wall at Triple-A St. Paul on Sunday, according to MLB Pipeline. The No. 11 overall prospect in all of baseball was removed in the sixth inning. The 21-year-old outfielder is the Twins' top prospect. It's unclear right now how serious Jenkins' shoulder injury is, but we should have more clarity on the situation soon. The former fifth overall pick in 2023 is still worth stashing in dynasty/keeper leagues. In 25 games so far in 2026 down on the farm at Triple-A, Jenkins has hit .256/.396/.389 with a .785 OPS, two home runs, nine RBI, five stolen bases, and 15 runs scored across 111 plate appearances. He possesses a smooth a repeatable left-handed swing and is a plus hitter with plenty of power upside. Jenkins could easily stick in center field at the major-league level with above-average speed. Depending on how serious his shoulder injury is, Jenkins is a realistic candidate to make his big-league debut for the Twins in 2026.

Walker Jenkins Still on the Stash Radar After Slow Start?

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Walker Jenkins is off to a slow start to the Triple-A regular season and is falling down the stash rankings. Jenkins entered the 2026 regular season as the team's No. 1 rake-prospect and the overall No. 11 prospect in the sport on MLB.com. Through the first 21 games of the Triple-A regular season, Jenkins has held a disappointing .213/.372/.293 slash line with three doubles, one home run, and four stolen bases. While his bat is yet to show on the box score, he has shown a strong eye at the plate, holding a 14:17 K:BB. During his first taste of Triple-A last season, Jenkins showed similar growing pains, posting a .242/.324/.396 line with a .720 OPS. Given that Jenkins has yet to adjust to Triple-A pitching, he is only worth stashing in deep 15-team leagues with "N/A" spots.

Walker Jenkins Gradually Climbing Stash Rankings After Slow Start at Triple-A

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Walker Jenkins has begun to find his footing at Triple-A St. Paul and is emerging as a deep-league stash option in Week 4 of the fantasy baseball season. Over his first eight games of the campaign, Jenkins posted a low .154/.313/.192 slash line with just one extra-base hit and a 6:5 K:BB. However, over his last eight games, Jenkins has looked like a completely different hitter, posting a much-improved .273/.400/.364 line with his first home run of the season. While he has yet to tap into this power upside on a consistent basis, Jenkins is slowly growing accustomed to Triple-A pitching. Last summer, Jenkins made his Triple-A debut but only appeared in 23 games at the level. If Jenkins can continue to improve over the opening months, he should be in the mix for a second-half MLB debut.

Will Walker Jenkins Debut in 2026?

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Walker Jenkins has a high probability of making his big league debut this year; the question really is whether or not it will be an early-season debut or later in the year. The Twins' top-ranked prospect hasn't done much yet this season to warrant consideration for a call-up, as he's only 4-for-20 (.200) in the early going with just one extra-base hit for Triple-A St. Paul. However, the former third-overall draft pick seemed to get acclimated to Triple-A pitching in the month of September last year, going 21-for-71 (.296) with eight extra base hits (two home runs) and three steals over his final 17 games. If he can get rolling in the near future, a debut could soon follow. With one of the better hit tools in the minors, along with decent pop and some speed, Jenkins has the makings of a solid fantasy producer, so managers in most redraft leagues should continue to monitor his progress, although he is not a must-stash at the moment.

Walker Jenkins Expected to be Healthy Ahead of Triple-A Regular Season

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Walker Jenkins (hamstring) is expected to be ready for the beginning of the Triple-A regular season, according to Bobby Nightengale of The Minnesota Star Tribune. The team's top prospect is dealing with a Grade 1 hamstring strain but is not expected to be limited in any capacity ahead of the start of the regular season. Jenkins was in the mix to earn a spot on the Opening Day roster but was optioned to Triple-A St. Paul to continue his development earlier in March. However, a hot start should push me into serious promotion conversations. Last season, Jenkins played 23 games at Triple-A and hit for a .242/.324/.396 line with two home runs and four stolen bases. Managers in deeper five-outfielder leagues should pay close attention to his early-season production as he could emerge as a high-end stash candidate.

Walker Jenkins Reassigned to Minor-League Camp

Minnesota Twins outfield prospect Walker Jenkins (hamstring) was among six players that the team reassigned to minor-league camp on Wednesday, according to Dan Hayes of The Athletic. Jenkins was never realistically expected to make the big-league roster out of spring training, and that was especially true after he suffered a Grade 1 left-hamstring strain last weekend. The 21-year-old is a good bet to make his major-league debut for the rebuilding Twins this year, though. The Twins' top prospect, per MLB Pipeline, hit .286/.399/.451 with an .850 OPS, 10 home runs, 34 RBI, 56 runs scored, and 17 stolen bases in 84 total games at four different minor-league levels in 2025. There's no doubt that Jenkins can hit, but injuries have been an issue for him the last two years. The former fifth overall pick in 2023 might need to prove he can stay healthy over the course of the season before the Twins consider him for a call-up later in 2026.

Walker Jenkins is Diagnosed with Hamstring Strain

Minnesota Twins outfielder Walker Jenkins (hamstring) is going to miss some time after picking up an injury over the weekend. Jenkins has been diagnosed with a Grade 1 left hamstring strain. He suffered the injury while attempting to beat out a double play on Saturday. The Twins haven't given a timetable for his return, but it's highly unlikely that he'll play again in camp. Jenkins is one of the top prospects in baseball and should make his MLB debut at some point in 2026. He got a taste of Triple-A last season and figures to begin the season there, assuming he's healthy. It wouldn't be shocking to see Jenkins playing in Minnesota at some point this season.
