Denzer Guzman a Deep-League Power Target on Waivers?

Los Angeles Angels third baseman/shortstop Denzer Guzman is not exactly forcing his way into shallow-league lineups yet, but there is enough here for fantasy managers in deeper formats to pay attention. The 22-year-old hit his way back to Los Angeles after slashing .336/.403/.571 with 12 homers, 57 RBI, and nine steals over 58 games at Triple-A Salt Lake, and the Angels gave him a real look at third base once he arrived. Through 91 major-league at-bats, Guzman is batting .253/.306/.385 with three homers, 13 RBI, eight runs, and one steal. The profile still needs some patience. His 7.4% barrel rate, 35.3% hard-hit rate, and 86.9 mph average exit velocity do not scream instant breakout, but the minor-league production and regular at-bats give him a path to matter. Rostered in just 4% of Yahoo leagues, Guzman is more of a 15-team corner/middle-infield flier for cheap power than a player managers need to chase in standard formats.

Denzer Guzman Worth a Look in Deeper Leagues for Raw Power Potential

Los Angeles Angels infield prospect Denzer Guzman was called up in early June to give the Halos some infield reinforcements, and the 22-year-old Dominican has hit .268/.325/.437 with a .761 OPS, three home runs, 13 RBI, seven runs scored, and a stolen base in 18 games and 77 plate appearances. He appeared in 13 games in his major-league debut in 2025 and went 8-for-42 (.190) with two long balls, three RBI, and four runs scored. The 6-foot-1, 190-pound right-handed hitter has mostly been serving as the Angels' third baseman when he finds his way into the starting lineup, but he also has experience at shortstop and is eligible at both positions in fantasy leagues. Guzman got the call to the Angels this year after hitting .336/.403/.571 with a .974 OPS, 12 homers, 57 RBI, 45 runs, and nine steals in 58 games at Triple-A Salt Lake in the hitter-friendly Pacific Coast League. His raw power from the right side makes him intriguing in deeper fantasy leagues, but the Angels' No. 7-ranked prospect (per MLB Pipeline) has had issues making consistent contact at the plate. Guzman is worth a look off the waiver wire in deep fantasy leagues for infield depth. He's rostered in only 4% of Yahoo leagues.

Angels Promote Denzer Guzman to Majors, Worth Adding in Standard Leagues?

Los Angeles Angels beat writer Jeff Fletcher reported Sunday night that the Angels are calling up infielder Denzer Guzman on Monday, as Taylor Blake Ward of Baseball America had reported. Guzman was hitting .336 with 12 HRs and a .974 OPS at AAA. Guzman is the Angels' seventh-ranked prospect in the organization and plays shortstop. In addition to the strong power and average, Guzman has also swiped nine bases, driven in 57 RBI, and scored 45 times through 268 plate appearances in Triple-A so far this season. The jump for him from last 2025 to this year has been significant, and he is worth monitoring as a waiver wire addition in deeper leagues at the middle infield position. While Guzman doesn't profile as a high-end overall MLB prospect, he is regarded fairly highly in the Angels organization. When you combine his power and speed production, if you are a team looking for a middle infielder or depth at the position, Guzman is a strong candidate to pick up; however, he is not someone you need to sprint to go get or dump a lot of FAAB on just based on his overall career profile. He should see opportunities at the hot corner with Yoan Moncada on the shelf.

Denzer Guzman Called Up from Triple-A Salt Lake

Los Angeles Angels infield prospect Denzer Guzman was called up from Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday for his major league debut. The Angels' ninth-ranked prospect was having a solid season, which began at Double-A and continued at Triple-A in early August, slashing .247/.343/.426 in all with a .359 wOBA and 119 wRC+, but had been hitting even better as of late. The 21-year-old was 9-for-23 (.391) over his last seven games before his call-up. With 17 home runs on the season and 14 steals as well, there is some pop and speed in his game, but fantasy managers may want to take a wait-and-see approach with Guzman before adding him to rosters. The right-handed slugger started at shortstop and batted seventh in his debut on Saturday, going 0-for-3 with two strikeouts.

Denzer Guzman Promoted to Triple-A Salt Lake

Los Angeles Angels shortstop prospect Denzer Guzman was promoted to Triple-A Salt Lake on Saturday, going 0-for-3 with a pair of strikeouts in his debut at that level. The Angels' 11th-ranked prospect had really heated up prior to his promotion, going 20-for-47 (.426) with a pair of homers and 12 RBI in 13 games before going hitless over the last three. For the season, he was slashing .242/.334/.415 with 11 home runs and eight steals in 93 games while at Double-A Rocket City. Strikeouts had been an issue in the past, coming into the year with a 27.7 percent K% in 102 games between High-A and Double-A, but the 6-foot-1 Dominican had lowered it to a palatable 23.8 percent in 2025. His defense is what could get him to the majors as soon as 2026, though, and the offensive profile doesn't yet warrant fantasy consideration.

Denzer Guzman Tallies Three Hits on Sunday

Los Angeles Angels shortstop prospect Denzer Guzman went 3-for-4 with a double and a home run during the first game of a doubleheader against Double-A Columbus on Sunday afternoon. In the second half of the two-game slate, Guzman went 0-for-2 with a run and a walk. Over his last nine games, Guzman has been very productive in the batter's box, posting a .364/.450/.697 slash line with five doubles, two home runs, and a 6:5 K:BB. Through 83 total games with Double-A Rocket City this season, the No. 9-ranked prospect in Los Angeles according to MLB.com has held a .238/.333/.427 slash line with 22 doubles, 11 home runs, and seven stolen bases. Given his surge at the plate, Guzman could be in the mix to debut at Triple-A in the second half.
