Drue Hackenberg Getting Promoted To Triple-A

Atlanta Braves pitching prospect Drue Hackenberg is getting promoted to Triple-A Gwinnett. The Braves' ninth-ranked prospect looked good at both High-A and Double-A this season, posting a 3.42 ERA over 21 starts with a 1.25 WHIP and 17.5% K-BB%. The command needs work with a 10.4% BB%, but the stuff isn't in question, even recording a game for Double-A in which the righty struck out 16 batters in seven innings pitched. The Braves have been aggressive in promoting their young arms over the last few years, so it wouldn't be a surprise to see Hackenberg in Atlanta at some point next season. It's not certain he'll make it as a big league starter, rather a long-relief bullpen arm, but he'll need to be on the fantasy radar due to his strikeout potential.

Drue Hackenberg Dominates With 16 K's

Atlanta Braves pitching prospect Drue Hackenberg had a night to remember for Double-A Mississippi on Sunday. The right-hander was on top of his game with seven innings of one-run ball, in which he allowed three hits with no walks and a 2024 MiLB single-game record 16 strikeouts. It was an incredible performance for the Braves No. 9 prospect per MLB Pipeline. It was only his fourth start in Double-A, as he opened the season for High-A Rome. Between the two levels, Hackenberg has combined for a 3.59 ERA with 95 strikeouts in 80 1/3 innings over 16 starts. Hackenberg still has some more work to do before getting to the big leagues with a projected ETA of 2026, but Sunday's dominant performance is a reminder why the Braves paid more than the slotted value for last years second-round pick. For now, he should only be of interest of managers in dynasty leagues.
