Edwin Arroyo a Must-Stash Prospect with Power and Speed

Cincinnati Reds shortstop Edwin Arroyo is having a fantastic season at the plate in Triple-A, and it seems like he's due for a promotion to the majors sooner rather than later. Through 51 games this year, he's slashing .332/.393/.567 with 10 home runs, nine steals, a 7.5% walk rate, a 14.9% strikeout rate, and 148 wRC+. His in-zone metrics have been phenomenal, including a 75.5% zone swing rate (89th percentile) and a 90.1% zone contact rate (87th percentile). He also ranks in the top one-third of Triple-A batters with an average exit velocity of 90.1 mph. Arroyo's blend of power and speed makes him a very intriguing prospect to stash in fantasy baseball, as we expect his home run and steal outbursts to continue at the major league level. We would be surprised if Arroyo doesn't get promoted to the majors in June, given how well he has hit all year long.

Edwin Arroyo Not Slowing Down at Triple-A, Remains Elite Stash Target

Cincinnati Reds prospect Edwin Arroyo has remained one of the best hitters throughout all of the minor leagues and remains on the verge of making his MLB debut. Through his first 48 contests at the top club of the minor leagues, Arroyo has posted an incredible .344/.402/.595 with a .997 OPS. Arroyo has launched 10 home runs, tacked on nine doubles, and even swiped eight bases. This is even more impressive, as Arroyo spent his entire 2025 campaign with Double-A Chattanooga. With Double-A last summer, Arroyo was far less productive, holding a .284/.345/.371 line, and went deep just three times over a lengthy 120-game stint. Even though there is no clear spot for him on the MLB roster, the former 48th overall pick remains a must-stash prospect ahead of Week 9.

Edwin Arroyo a Top Hitter to Stash Ahead of MLB Debut?

Cincinnati Reds shortstop prospect Edwin Arroyo hit his 10th homer of the season at Triple-A on Thursday, and he's getting closer to making his MLB debut. Arroyo is having a fantastic season at the plate, posting a career-best .348/.408/.604 slash line with 10 homers, eight steals, a 8.3% walk rate, a 15.1% strikeout rate, and 159 wRC+. He's walking less than ever before in his minor league career, and he has also delivered more home runs and steals. This is truly a breakout year for the infield prospect, and it's coming at the right time as he pushes for a promotion to the majors. With 46 Triple-A games under his belt, it seems like Arroyo is ready for the next level. With a potential debut coming in June, Arroyo is absolutely on the stash radar in fantasy baseball, especially because he offers both speed and power.

Edwin Arroyo an Intriguing Stash Option as MLB Debut Looms

Cincinnati Reds infield prospect Edwin Arroyo owns the seventh-highest batting average of all Triple-A players with at least 30 games played, currently sitting at .345 after a sizzling start to the season. The Reds' third-ranked prospect is doing a bit of everything this season, slugging a whopping .592, drawing walks at an 8.8 percent rate (.409 OBP), and has stolen eight bases through 43 games thus far. Despite this being his first taste of Triple-A pitching, the switch-hitter is striking out at just a 14.6 percent clip, the best rate of his entire minor league career. A torn labrum caused him to miss the entire 2024 season, which has delayed his development, but he put together a strong Double-A campaign last year (.284/.345/.371) and has continued to progress, now on the doorstep to the majors. With a tantalizing blend of contact (8.7 percent swinging-strike rate), power, and speed, the 22-year-old is worth stashing in most category leagues as his MLB debut draws near.

Edwin Arroyo Adding to Versatility With Reps at Third Base

Triple-A Louisville manager Pat Kelly said that the Bats introduced Cincinnati Reds infield prospect Edwin Arroyo to third base a couple of weeks ago, per Charlie Goldsmith of FOX 19. Arroyo is a defense-first prospect, but the club's No. 3 prospect per MLB Pipeline has displayed his offensive upside in 2026. The 22-year-old missed all of 2024 with a shoulder injury and posted a .716 OPS in Double-A last year, but he has posted a .989 OPS so far with Louisville, batting .342/.408/.590 with eight home runs, 29 RBI, 33 runs scored, and five stolen bases across 39 games and 191 plate appearances. "He's doing some work with the strength coaches on his hips," Kelly said. "Sometimes, he'd get locked with his front side and couldn't get through it. He's doing work, and it seems to show. He hit a ball last night about as far as a left-handed hitter has all year." Arroyo's clearest path to playing time in the big leagues is still at second base, but his timeline to join the Reds could be fast-tracked if he continues to show offensive upside. He's a switch-hitter who makes plenty of contact, but if he joins the Reds later this year, he will most likely serve as a utility infielder.

Edwin Arroyo Entering Stash Territory with Torrid Stretch at Triple-A

Cincinnati Reds infield prospect Edwin Arroyo is one of the hottest hitters in the minors right now, with four multi-hit games in his last five games, including two four-hit performances. During this recent five-game stretch, he is 14-for-25 (.560) with two doubles, a triple, and four home runs, but the Reds' sixth-ranked prospect has been hitting well all season, recording 15 multi-hit efforts out of his 39 games played. The former second-round draft pick is now the author of a robust .342/.408/.590 slash line with eight home runs and five steals, along with a low 15.2 percent strikeout rate. Despite having logged time at second base, third base, and shortstop so far in 2026, there is no room for the switch-hitter at the major league level at the moment (although there are some glaring underperformers on offense), so hopefully he can continue to rake until the Reds decide to give him a chance. The 22-year-old offers a little pop and plenty of speed to go along with a decent bat (.301 AVG, 16.8 percent K% between Double and Triple-A), so he is a name for fantasy managers in deep leagues to consider stashing as he could offer plenty of fantasy appeal with positional versatility (2B, SS) to boot.

Edwin Arroyo Enjoying Productive July

Cincinnati Reds shortstop prospect Edwin Arroyo has enjoyed a dominant July at Double-A Chattanooga. Since July 4 (last 12 games), the infielder has posted an impressive .333/.393/.510 slash line with six doubles and a home run. During this stretch, Arroyo has scored eight runs, tallied five RBI, and swiped five bags. Last summer, Arroyo was unable to play after suffering a torn labrum. Through 74 total games with Double-A this season, Arroyo has looked quite comfortable following the injury, posting a strong .277/.337/.358 line with 15 doubles, two home runs, and seven stolen bases. Seeing Arroyo begin to swipe more bases in July is a very positive sign. Fantasy managers should continue to monitor his progression but should expect him to remain with Double-A during the second half.

Edwin Arroyo, Cam Collier Assigned To Minor-League Camp

The Cincinnati Reds reassigned shortstop Edwin Arroyo and third baseman Cam Collier to minor-league camp on Wednesday. Additionally, the Reds sent right-hander Jose Acuna, catcher Michael Trautwein, outfielder Hector Rodriguez (No. 11) and infielder Ivan Johnson to minor-league camp. Arroyo (No. 5) and Collier (No. 4) are two of the team's top prospects and are also ranked by MLB Pipeline as top-100 prospects in all of baseball entering the 2025 season. Arroyo, 21, was never really expected to make Cincy's Opening Day roster after missing all of the 2024 campaign due to surgery to fix a torn labrum in his left shoulder. He will likely begin the year at Double-A Chattanooga. Collier, who is a year younger than Arroyo, also wasn't a realistic option to break camp on the big-league roster for Opening Day. He, too, should start 2025 at Chattanooga with Arroyo.

Edwin Arroyo To Play In Arizona Fall League

Cincinnati Reds shortstop prospect Edwin Arroyo (shoulder), who had season-ending surgery to fix a torn labrum in his left shoulder in spring training, is starting a game progression at the team's complex in Goodyear, Ariz., and is also scheduled to play in the Arizona Fall League. Arroyo injured his left shoulder in a March 13 Cactus League game against the San Francisco Giants when he dove back to first base on a pickoff throw. The 21-year-old is listed by MLB Pipeline as the team's No. 3 prospect. The Puerto Rican hit .252/.324/.433 with a .757 OPS, 13 home runs, 60 RBI and 29 stolen bases in 123 games with High-A Dayton and Double-A Chattanooga last year. Arroyo makes hard contact to all fields as a switch-hitter and could develop average power at a premium position. Speed will probably be his biggest asset in fantasy down the road. Don't expect him to make his MLB debut next year after losing all of this season.

Edwin Arroyo Done For The Season

Cincinnati Reds shortstop prospect Edwin Arroyo (shoulder), the team's No. 3 prospect per MLB Pipeline, had season-ending shoulder surgery on Wednesday to fix a torn labrum in his left shoulder. The 20-year-old injured the shoulder diving back to first base last week in a Cactus League game and will now miss all of 2024. It's a tough break for one of the team's top prospects after he went 6-for-17 with three RBI in spring training action. When he returns in 2025, Arroyo will most likely be ticketed for Double-A Chattanooga. The 6-foot switch-hitter hits balls hard to all fields and should develop more power as he matures, but his development is going to be put on hold this year. The Puerto Rican product hit .252/.324/.433 with 13 homers, 60 RBI and 29 steals in 123 games last year with High-A Dayton and Chattanooga.
