Jacob Gonzalez is Heading to the Big Leagues

Chicago White Sox infielder Jacob Gonzalez is receiving the call to the big leagues. Gonzalez has been one of the hottest hitters in the minor leagues and will now get a chance to show it at the big league level. This season, Gonzalez is slashing .308/.414/.646 with 18 home runs across 51 games in Triple-A Charlotte. He figures to see everyday at-bats in Chicago with Munetaka Murakami (hamstring) heading to the Injured List. Murakami suffered a hamstring injury during Friday's win over the Detroit Tigers. Following the game, manager Will Venable said Murakami is facing a multi-week absence. Gonzalez will get a legitimate shot to prove he's ready for the big leagues. Fantasy managers should check the waiver wire and scoop him up before it's too late.

Jacob Gonzalez Lifted From Triple-A Contest, Set for Promotion?

Chicago White Sox infielder Jacob Gonzalez was lifted early during Friday's game with Triple-A Charlotte. Gonzalez is likely headed to the big leagues with Munetaka Murakami (hamstring) being pulled from Friday's contest versus the Detroit Tigers. The assumption is that Murakami will require a stint on the Injured List, which could give Gonzalez his first taste of big league action. Gonzalez smacked his 19th home run of the season during Friday's game. The 23-year-old appears to be ready for the next level and could get his shot as early as this weekend. The former first-round pick could become a must-add player if he does receive the call to The Show.

Jacob Gonzalez a Must-Stash Power Bat in Fantasy Baseball

Chicago White Sox shortstop prospect Jacob Gonzalez has been one of the top power hitters in the minor leagues this season, and he's a must-stash player in fantasy baseball as he gets closer to making his MLB debut. Through 51 games this year, the 2023 first-round pick is slashing .308/.414/.646 with 18 home runs, seven steals, a 14.1% walk rate, a 20.5% strikeout rate, and 162 wRC+. While that strikeout rate is a little higher than we'd like to see against Triple-A pitching, it's a fair trade-off when you consider that he's homering once in every 13 plate appearances. The advanced metrics are terrific, too, as Gonzalez owns a 113.6 mph maximum exit velocity (95th percentile), a 12.5% barrel rate (87th percentile), and a 22.6% wiff rate (71st percentile). This is a very advanced profile, and we expect Gonzalez to have a relatively seamless transition to the majors once he does get the call. He projects as a big power bat in the majors, while also offering solid speed and defensive versatility at all four infield positions.

Jacob Gonzalez Emerging as Top Stash Target with Five-Category Upside

Chicago White Sox infield prospect Jacob Gonzalez has enjoyed a dominant start to the Triple-A regular season and is emerging as a top stash target among infield prospects. Gonzalez currently sits as the No. 24-ranked prospect in the system on MLB.com but has performed at a borderline elite level despite his lower prospect pedigree. Through 49 games in Charlotte this season, Gonzalez has posted a .294/.406/.594 slash line with a 1.000 OPS. During this stint, Gonzalez has tallied nine doubles, 15 home runs, seven stolen bases, and a 47:33 K:BB. This is a stark improvement compared to the .204/.310/.293 line he led his first 43 games at Triple-A during the 2025 campaign. While there is no clear opening for Gonzalez on the MLB roster at the moment, he is emerging as a top stash candidate given his five-category potential.

Jacob Gonzalez Hits First Home Run At Double-A

Chicago White Sox infield prospect Jacob Gonzalez launched his first home run at Double-A on Wednesday in his second game at that level. The 21-year-old has looked quite comfortable in his first two games with Double-A Birmingham, tallying six hits and three RBI. Gonzalez began the season by debuting with High-A after spending all of last year with the Rookie league and in Single-A. It took him only 36 games at High-A to prove he was ready for Double-A. The No. 7 seven prospect in the Chicago system is progressing through the minor leagues very quickly and could even be able to reach the major leagues sometime next season. Dynasty managers should continue to monitor his performance at Double-A, and he could even be worth stashing if he reaches Triple-A at the end of the summer.

Jacob Gonzalez Promoted To Double-A

The Chicago White Sox have promoted infielder Jacob Gonzalez from High-A Winston Salem to Double-A Birmingham. Gonzalez, 21, was the teams first-round pick in 2023 and hit .273 with three homers, 15 RBI and seven stolen bases over his first 36 games for Winston-Salem this season. The White Sox feel he has outplayed High-A pitching and Gonzalez will now try his bat against better pitching. Gonzalez has very good plate discipline, which is very important in any prospect and he has shown good power potential. He is still a couple seasons away from making the show and remains an option in dynasty leagues only.

Jacob Gonzalez Riding Five-Game Hit Streak

Chicago White Sox shortstop prospect Jacob Gonzalez went 4-for-4 at the plate with a home run on Wednesday and is now riding a strong five-game hitting streak. The 21-year-old has an overall .298/.402/.452 slash line with three long balls and five stolen bases through his first 27 games at High-A. The seventh-ranked prospect in the White Sox's system struggled at Single-A last season with a .207/.328/.261 line, so it is a positive sign to see him putting those struggles behind him. The former Ole Miss Rebel should see time in Double-A later this summer, which could open the door for a potential 2025 major-league debut.
