If you're in a "wins" and "losses" league, Gilbert has been slightly disappointing on that front, but there's no denying he's been making it up on all of the peripheral stats. The 27-year-old will have a tougher go of bouncing back when the Mariners take a trip to face the Philadelphia Phillies this weekend.

The Mariners gave Gilbert zero run support while he was in the game but bailed him out of the loss with a four-run eighth inning, followed by a walk-off grand slam by Cal Raleigh in the bottom of the ninth. Gilbert was cruising with no runs allowed and only two hits through the first five innings before the wheels fell off via a two-run home run in the sixth by Luis Robert Jr. and an RBI single in the seventh by Lenyn Sosa. Gilbert has been excellent this season with a 3.19 ERA and will look to continue his great 2024 with a divisional matchup versus the Texas Rangers on Saturday.
