Logan Gilbert Named Mariners Opening Day Starter

The Seattle Mariners announced on Thursday that right-hander Logan Gilbert will make the start on Opening Day next Thursday, March 26, against the Cleveland Guardians at T-Mobile Park in Seattle. It will be Gilbert's second straight Opening Day assignment. The 28-year-old went 6-6 with a 3.44 ERA (3.35 FIP) and 1.03 WHIP with 173 strikeouts and 31 walks in 131 innings over his 25 starts in 2025 in his fifth year in the big leagues with the M's. He was a first-time All-Star in 2024, when he had a nice 3.23 ERA, league-leading 0.89 WHIP, and a career-high 220 strikeouts in a league-high 208 2/3 innings over 33 starts. Gilbert's 2025 season might have looked much better had he not dealt with a flexor strain in his right elbow that caused him to miss over a month of action. Despite dealing with arm issues last year, Gilbert had a career-high 32.3% strikeout rate, and he has one of the highest floors of any high-end fantasy starter. RotoBaller has Gilbert ranked as the No. 6 fantasy starting pitcher in 2026.

Logan Gilbert to Make Spring Debut on Monday

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert is scheduled to make his Spring Training debut versus the Los Angeles Dodgers on Monday. It's still early in camp, which means Gilbert will likely only face a handful of batters. Reliever Jose A. Ferrer is also scheduled to pitch on Monday, but the rest of the arms are unknown at the moment. Gilbert posted a strong 2025 campaign but was limited to 25 starts due to injuries. During that time, Gilbert posted a 3.44 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and a 173/31 K/BB ratio across 131.0 innings of work. He is one of the most consistent arms in the Mariners' rotation. The 28-year-old should be a trustworthy fantasy option heading into the 2026 campaign.

Logan Gilbert Looking to Build on Effective 2025 Campaign

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert is coming off a strong 2025 season, during which he posted a 2.95 xFIP with 11.89 K/9 and 2.13 BB/9. Along the way, he tied for second among Mariners pitchers in fWAR. The biggest blemish against Gilbert last year was his susceptibility to loud contact, as he surrendered home runs at a 1.37 HR/9 clip while his ground ball rate dropped to 38.9%. Outside of a few minor concerns, Gilbert has established himself as one of the best MLB arms in terms of control and results. He also has a fascinating pitch mix headlined by the splitter, which earned a 144 Stuff+ grade by FanGraphs' model. Meanwhile, he sat in the mid-to-upper-90s with his fastball. Gilbert currently projects as the Mariners' #2 starter behind Bryan Woo, and he ranks at #6 in the latest RotoBaller fantasy baseball draft rankings.

Logan Gilbert Named Game 6 Starter for ALCS

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert has been named the starting pitcher ahead of Game 6 of the ALCS against the Toronto Blue Jays. As expected, Gilbert will get the ball as he attempts to get his team to the World Series for the first time in franchise history. Gilbert gave up three runs (two earned) across three innings of work during Monday's Game 2. The right-hander holds a 2.45 ERA, 1.27 WHIP with 11 strikeouts in 11 innings this postseason. He only threw 58 pitches during his last outing, so he should be fairly fresh for this contest.

Logan Gilbert to Start Game 2 of ALCS Against Blue Jays

Seattle Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert will make the start in Game 2 of the American League Championship Series on Monday in Toronto against the Blue Jays, according to manager Dan Wilson. Gilbert, who will be making his third appearance of the postseason on Monday, will be looking to give Seattle a 2-0 lead in the best-of-seven series. The 28-year-old right-hander made one start and one relief appearance in the AL Division Series against the Detroit Tigers and allowed just one run while giving up seven hits, walking one, and striking out nine in eight innings of work. In his lone start against Toronto back on April 19, Gilbert allowed two runs on seven hits while walking two and striking out nine in just 4 2/3 innings of work. He last pitched on Friday in Game 5 of the ALDS against Detroit, tossing two scoreless innings out of the bullpen in the marathon 15-inning contest.

Logan Gilbert to Start Game 3 of ALDS Against Tigers

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert will take the mound for Tuesday's Game 3 of the ALDS versus the Detroit Tigers. The Mariners dropped the opener and will play Game 2 of the series Sunday night. Another loss for Seattle would make Tuesday a win or go home contest. Gilbert finished the regular season on a strong note. The right-hander allowed two earned runs or less in all of his starts in September. Gilbert posted a 3.44 ERA, 1.03 WHIP, and a 173/31 K/BB ratio across 25 starts. He should offer viable DFS value for Tuesday's slate.

Logan Gilbert Punches Out 13 in Victory

Seattle Mariners right-hander Logan Gilbert (4-5) dominated the Athletics on Sunday and picked up his fourth win of the year in an 11-4 blowout. The 28-year-old struck out a career-high 13 over six innings of one-run ball while allowing three hits and a walk. Gilbert threw 93 pitches, 65 of which were strikes, and generated a whopping 25 whiffs. It was a great bounce-back effort by Gilbert after the Philadelphia Phillies torched him for six runs on nine hits in two innings this past Monday. He'll head into his next start on Saturday against the Cleveland Guardians with a 3.69 ERA, a 1.03 WHIP, and 138:24 K:BB over 97 2/3 innings. Among pitchers who have amassed 90-plus frames, Gilbert ranks second in strikeout percentage (33.2) and third in K-BB percentage (27.1).

Logan Gilbert Pitches Well in No-Decision

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert put together a solid performance on the mound during Thursday's game against the Chicago White Sox. The right-hander gave up a solo home run to Michael A. Taylor, but was sharp outside of that. Gilbert tossed five innings, allowing one run on five hits, while striking out six in a no-decision. It hasn't been a great season for Gilbert, but he has allowed three earned runs or less in four of his last five starts. He'll take a 3.35 ERA, 0.98 WHIP, and 118/21 K/BB ratio into his next outing against the Baltimore Orioles.

Logan Gilbert Fans 10 in Return on Monday

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert (elbow) did not miss a beat in Monday's 2-0 loss to the Red Sox. Gilbert, who had been on the injured list since late April due to a right elbow flexor strain, pitched five innings, allowing two runs on three hits (including a solo home run) and a walk with 10 strikeouts. While he came away with the loss, this was a highly encouraging start for fantasy managers and the Mariners, who have dealt with numerous rotation injuries. The 28-year-old is now 1-2 with a 2.55 ERA, a 0.79 WHIP, and a 13.75 K/9 rate in seven starts and 35 1/3 IP. His next scheduled start will be a tough one at the Cubs, but fantasy managers will likely feel more confident throwing their ace out there after his stellar return performance.

Logan Gilbert to Start on Monday

Seattle Mariners starting pitcher Logan Gilbert (elbow) will be activated off the injured list and start against the Boston Red Sox on Monday. Gilbert appears to be finally ready to return after being sidelined since late April due to a right elbow flexor strain. He looked strong during his most recent rehab start where he struck out six batters across five shutout innings. Before going down, Gilbert had allowed two earned runs or less in five of his first six starts this season. Gilbert needs to be rostered and started in all fantasy formats.
