Noah Schultz Strikes Out Season-High Seven Batters

Chicago White Sox left-handed pitching prospect Noah Schultz struck out a season-high seven batters during his start against Double-A Chattanooga on Tuesday evening. In this outing, Schultz allowed just five hits, one walk, and one run. This was also a strong bounce-back for Schultz as he allowed three runs and five hits across four innings in his last start. Through 32 2/3 innings of work at Double-A this season, the former 26th overall pick has held a 3.58 ERA with a high 1.71 WHIP. He has tallied 33 punchouts and served up 19 walks. However, he may be able to carry Tuesday's momentum into his next start. Last season, Schultz spent most of his time with Double-A, but performed much better, boasting a 1.48 ERA with a 1.02 WHIP. He should reach Triple-A in the coming months if he continues to find his footing.

Chicago Reassigns Noah Schultz, Hagen Smith To Minor-League Camp

The Chicago White Sox have reassigned pitching prospects Noah Schultz and Hagen Smith to minor-league camp. Schultz finishes Cactus League action with three innings pitched, allowing zero earned runs, one hit, and three walks while striking out one. The Sox's 2021 first-round draft pick dominated at Double-A last season with a 1.48 ERA, 1.02 WHIP, and a 22.6 percent K-BB%. The 6-foot-9 southpaw will presumably start at Triple-A but Chicago's top prospect will likely make his MLB debut at some point this season, so redraft managers will want to keep an eye out for a promotion. Smith, on the other hand, finished with three Cactus League IP, also allowing zero earned runs, one hit, and three walks, but was able to notch four strikeouts. The 2024 fifth-overall draft pick made just three starts at High-A last year and will need more time in the minors; the 21-year-old has an ETA of 2026 per MLB.com.

Noah Schultz Making Cactus League Debut Next Week

Chicago White Sox starting pitching prospect Noah Schultz is expected to make his Cactus League debut on February 26 against the San Diego Padres. Schultz is considered the top prospect in the White Sox system on MLB Pipeline. The team closely monitored his workload last season, as he never pitched five innings in a start. He opened the 2024 campaign at High-A and eventually earned a promotion to Double-A. Across his first 61 innings with Double-A Birmingham, the southpaw posted an impressive 1.48 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP. He tallied 73 punchouts and served up just 17 free passes. However, during the early part of spring training, the team has begun to build up his workload which could open the door for an MLB debut. Fantasy managers should closely monitor his progression during spring training. He could be in contention to make his MLB debut later this season and would be worth rostering in all formats, given the strikeout upside he has flashed in the minor leagues.

Noah Schultz Invited To Spring Training

According to the team, Chicago White Sox starting pitching prospect Noah Schultz is being invited to spring training. The left-handed pitcher is viewed as the top prospect in the White Sox system on MLB Pipeline and the No.16 overall in the sport. The 21-year-old made his professional debut in the 2023 season at the Single-A level and held a strong 1.33 ERA and a 0.85 WHIP across 27 innings of work. Last summer, the southpaw opened the campaign at High-A, where he logged 27 1/3 innings with a 3.95 ERA and 0.91 WHIP. He struck out an impressive 42 batters and allowed just nine free passes. He then earned a promotion to Double-A Birmingham, where he held a stellar 1.48 ERA and a 1.02 WHIP across 61 innings. He continued to flash strikeout upside as he tallied 73 across this stint. Schultz is a name to keep a close eye on, as he could make his major debut in 2025 if he continues this pace.

Noah Schultz Throws Four Hitless Innings

Saturday night, Chicago White Sox pitching prospect Noah Schultz threw four scoreless innings for Double-A Birmingham, allowing two walks and striking out one. Through his first eight starts in Double-A, the 20-year-old lefty has posted a 2.01 ERA, 0.93 WHIP, and 34:6 K/BB. Wanting to preserve his arm, the White Sox have severely limited Schultz's workload. Despite his success, he's yet to throw past the fourth inning. It'll be a while before Chicago's No. 2 prospect (per MLB.com) makes his big-league debut. As of now, it will likely come in 2026.

Noah Schultz Activated From Temporarily Inactive List

Chicago White Sox pitching prospect Noah Schultz was activated from the temporarily inactive list. Schultz, the No. 18 overall prospect per MLB Pipeline had been placed on the list July 12th, but no specific reason was given. Schultz did pitch in the Futures Game two days later, but got hit hard in his performance. Schultz stands at 6'9, 220 pounds and has split his time evenly between High-A Winston Salem and Double Birmingham. In seven starts at each stop this season, he has combined for a 3.13 ERA with a sparkling 0.95 WHIP and 75 strikeouts in 54 2/3 innings. Even though the White Sox are in a clear rebuild, Schultz is unlikely to make his debut in 2024, but he has a realistic chance to make the big leagues next season. As one of the top pitching prospects, dynasty managers should already be rostering the tall lefty, while managers in redraft leagues should file his name away for future years.

Noah Schultz Lit Up In All-Star Futures Game

Chicago White Sox starting pitching prospect Noah Schultz only managed to get one batter out in this year's All-Star Futures Game. He allowed three runs on three hits, a walk, and a hit-by-pitch. His lone out came via strikeout. Despite his woes in Arlington, Schultz is one of the most promising pitching prospects in MLB. His slider is considered to be one of the best pitches in minor-league baseball. As of right now, the 20-year-old lefty isn't expected to make it to the big leagues for another few years.

Noah Schultz Loses Nine-Start Homerless Streak

Through his first 13 starts of the 2024 season (50 2/3 innings), Chicago White Sox starting pitching prospect Noah Schultz had allowed just one home run, coming on April 27 with High-A Winston-Salem. However, in his most recent start with Double-A Birmingham, the young lefty was taken deep twice. In total, he allowed two earned runs on seven hits and a walk, striking out three. Overall, Schultz went nine consecutive starts without giving up a homer. On the season, he has a 3.13 ERA, 0.95 WHIP, and 75:11 K/BB through 54 2/3 innings. As of now, he isn't expected to make his MLB debut for another two years.

Noah Schultz Stellar Through June

Chicago White Sox starting pitching prospect Noah Schultz has performed very well in June at Double-A. The southpaw opened the season with High-A but moved up to Double-A at the end of May. Through 15 innings this month, the former first-round selection has posted an excellent 2.30 ERA, 0.83 WHIP, and near-perfect 1:18 BB:K ratio. In the month, he has only given up more than one earned run on one occasion. While he has only gone four innings deep in every start, he is showcasing excellent command of his pitches and high strikeout potential. The 20-year-old is considered one of the best pitching prospects in all of baseball and remains on track to make his major league debut sometime next summer.

White Sox To Promote Noah Schultz To Double-A

The Chicago White Sox are promoting their No. 1 pitching prospect Noah Schultz to Double-A Birmingham. Schultz, 20, is a consensus Top-50 prospect and one of the best pitching prospects on the farm. The left-hander was 0-1 with a 3.95 ERA for High-A Winston-Salem in seven starts with 42 strikeouts in 27 1/3 innings. The former first-round pick is in his second season in the White Sox system, but continues to impress with one of the best sliders in the minor leagues. Birmingham will be a good challenge for the 6'9 southpaw and managers in dynasty leagues should take note of his promotion as his progression could lead to his big-league debut as soon as 2025 or 2026.
