Noah Schultz Still Worth Picking Up After Shaky Debut?

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Noah Schultz didn't have an ideal beginning to his MLB career. The rookie southpaw allowed four runs (three earned) on three hits, while walking four batters across 4.1 innings of work. The good news is that Schultz struck out four batters and retired five of the last six batters he faced. The 22-year-old figures to get a few turns through the rotation until Jonathan Cannon (hip) is cleared to return from the Injured List. Fantasy managers who added Schultz should hold onto him and hope for better results his next time on the bump. He's lined up to face the Athletics on Sunday, so we'll see how he does against that young stud lineup. The young southpaw has great strikeout upside, so fantasy managers should just ride the wave with Schultz.

Noah Schultz is a High Upside Waiver Wire Add

Chicago White Sox starting pitcher Noah Schultz was called up to the Major Leagues on Saturday. The southpaw is expected to make his big league debut on Tuesday. This debut will come with high expectations after being taken 26th overall during the 2022 MLB Draft. Schultz was ranked as the team's No. 2 ranked prospect ahead of his call-up. Schultz spent most of his time in Double-A before making a brief stint in Triple-A in 2026. The rookie southpaw struck out 19 hitters across 14 innings in Triple-A before receiving the call to the big leagues. Given his high strikeout upside, Schultz is immediately worth an add in 12-team formats ahead of his debut.

White Sox to Promote Top Pitching Prospect Noah Schultz

According to Elijah Evans of Just Baseball Media, the Chicago White Sox are promoting top left-handed pitching prospect Noah Schultz to the major leagues. He is expected to make his MLB debut on Tuesday. The southpaw is considered the team's No. 2-ranked prospect on MLB.com and the overall No. 49 prospect in the sport. Schultz joined the White Sox system with the 26th overall pick in the 2022 MLB Draft. In 2025, Schultz spent most of his time with Double-A, where he logged 56 2/3 innings with a 3.34 ERA before earning a brief taste of Triple-A. However, in 2026, Schultz looked dominant at Triple-A, prompting an early promotion. Through his first three games of the season (14 innings), the left-hander has struck out 19 hitters while holding a 1.29 ERA and a 0.43 WHIP. Given his high-end strikeout upside, he is worth adding in all 12-team leagues ahead of his eventual MLB debut.

Noah Schultz Sharp to Begin Season at Triple-A

Chicago White Sox left-handed pitching prospect Noah Schultz has looked sharp to begin the campaign at Triple-A and could contend for his MLB debut much sooner than expected this season. The southpaw has appeared in two Triple-A games (one start) and logged nine innings while allowing just one run. He has walked only two hitters and racked up 10 punchouts. This is an excellent sign for his development as the budding ace struggled in his first taste of Triple-A in 2025, logging a hefty 9.37 ERA with a 1.96 WHIP over a short 16 1/3-inning stint. He spent most of the 2025 season with Double-A Birmingham, where he held a 3.34 ERA with a modest 1.59 WHIP over 56 2/3 innings. If Schultz can continue to improve his command and enjoy steady production, he should debut in the coming months.

When Will Noah Schultz Make His MLB Debut?

Chicago White Sox pitching prospect Noah Schultz was reassigned to minor league camp earlier this month after making a pair of Cactus League appearances. The former first-round draft pick showed well in his limited action, offering glimpses of his strikeout potential with five punchouts in 4 1/3 innings pitched while walking none. The 6-foot-10 hurler earned a promotion to Triple-A in midseason last year, but struggled to a 9.37 ERA, 1.96 WHIP, and an 11.7 percent K-BB% in five starts with Charlotte before being shut down with knee tendinitis. That is where the southpaw is expected to start 2026, and with the knee issue behind him, he'll look to get on a roll early and work toward a major league debut later this year, perhaps even before the All-Star break. The 22-year-old's large frame and strikeout potential give him the look of a worthy stash candidate in deep redraft leagues; otherwise, managers in shallower formats should keep an eye on his progress as Chicago's top-ranked pitching prospect could offer fantasy-rotation reinforcement once he's called up.

Noah Schultz's Knee Not an Issue, Expects to Make MLB Debut in 2026

Chicago White Sox left-handed pitching prospect Noah Schultz (knee) believes that he will make his major-league debut in 2026 and also said his right knee "feels great." "Having no issues. It's been great. Did PT through the offseason and in a good spot, and it's not an issue," Schultz said about his knee. The 22-year-old southpaw, who is ranked as the No. 49 overall prospect by MLB Pipeline, was shut down last September due to tendinitis in his knee, but he's expected to be a full-go for the start of this season. Schultz had a 3.34 ERA and 1.56 WHIP with 58 strikeouts and 36 walks in 12 starts (56 2/3 innings) at Double-A Birmingham before struggling to a 9.37 ERA in five starts at Triple-A Charlotte to end his 2025 campaign. The 6-foot-10 hulking lefty was the 26th overall pick in 2022. Schultz will go undrafted in single-year leagues, but he's a firm stash and hold in dynasty/keeper formats.

Noah Schultz to be a "Full-Go" During Spring Training

According to Scott Merkin of MLB.com, Chicago White Sox left-handed pitching prospect Noah Schultz (knee) is expected to be a "full-go" for spring training. The team's No. 2 overall prospect, according to MLB.com, was dealing with right patellar tendinitis late in the season but appears not to be in line to miss much time. Schultz opened the 2025 campaign with Double-A Birmingham but was able to reach Triple-A Charlotte later in the season. With Double-A, the left-hander posted a 3.34 ERA with a 58:36 K:BB across 56 2/3 innings. During his first taste of Triple-A, Schultz stumbled, posting a hefty 9.61 ERA across a brief 16 1/3-inning stint. Managers should expect Schultz to begin 2026 with Charlotte and contend for a mid-season MLB debut.

Noah Schultz Precautiously Placed on Injured List With Knee Injury

Chicago White Sox left-hander Noah Schultz (knee) was placed on the minor-league injured list with knee discomfort on Thursday, Scott Merkin of MLB.com reports. Schultz is the No. 38-ranked prospect according to the MLB top-100 list and the White Sox's second-ranked prospect. It appears the White Sox are placing him on the IL due to precautionary reasons; however, fantasy managers who own Schultz in dynasty leagues may want to keep a close eye on this as the days go on to make sure it's nothing serious. Shultz was projected to make his MLB debut at some point towards the end of 2025; however, now it appears that may be delayed to the start of 2026, depending on the severity of the injury. Schultz was a first-round pick for the White Sox back in 2022, and during the 2025 season, he has made 17 starts, with 12 of them coming in Double-A, and his most recent five starts in Triple-A. He owns a 4.68 ERA and a 1.67 WHIP on the season across both levels.

Noah Schultz Back on the Mound at Triple-A Charlotte

Chicago White Sox pitching prospect Noah Schultz (knee) returned to the mound at Triple-A Charlotte on Sunday for the first time since July 3. Chicago's second-ranked prospect felt discomfort in his knee while warming up for his start on July 19, but appears to have made a full recovery. The 6-foot-10 southpaw only went two innings on Sunday, allowing one run (zero earned) on two hits and no walks while striking out four batters. The former first-rounder pitched well at Double-A to begin the year, but had a rude awakening at Triple-A, allowing 15 earned runs in 11 1/3 innings pitched over his first three starts there. Regardless, fantasy managers should expect the 22-year-old to make a debut in the big leagues next year and should be an impactful starter with his big frame.

Noah Schultz Progressing, Could Return in Late August

Chicago White Sox pitching prospect Noah Schultz (knee) has not pitched in a game at Triple-A Charlotte since July 3 after being scratched due to knee discomfort prior to his start on July 19. Chicago's second-ranked prospect is progressing and could return before the end of the month, however, the team is being cautious with their top pitching prospect. Even if he doesn't return before the end of the season, the left-handed hurler will participate in the Arizona Fall League (AFL). The 22-year-old earned a promotion to Triple-A in June, but had a rough three starts in which he allowed 15 earned runs on 18 hits and eight walks while striking out 13 in 11 1/3 innings pitched. Hopefully he can make up for lost time and iron out some things in the AFL, and fantasy managers should expect the southpaw to arrive in the big leagues next year.
