Riley Greene Resting for Tigers

Detroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene will step out of the starting lineup for Wednesday's series finale versus the hosting Pittsburgh Pirates with left-hander Bailey Falter on the bump at PNC Park. With Greene starting on the bench in this matinee contest, Matt Vierling will make the start in left field and hit fifth against Falter. Fantasy managers should expect to see Greene back in the fold for Thursday's series opener against the visiting Toronto Blue Jays at Comerica Park. The 24-year-old left-handed hitter has now made back-to-back All-Star appearances and has been a big reason why the Tigers are the best team in the American League in 2025. He enters play on Wednesday hitting .276/.325/.530 with an .855 OPS, a career-high 25 home runs, 79 RBI and 54 runs scored in 100 games, but he's also leading the league with 135 strikeouts.

Riley Greene Smacks 24th Home Run in Loss

Detroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene went deep for the second game in a row in an 8-4 loss to the Seattle Mariners on Sunday. Greene connected on a solo home run off left-hander Gabe Speier to give the Tigers a 4-3 advantage in the bottom of the seventh. Detroit's bullpen squandered the lead, but it was another productive day for Greene, who finished 2-for-4. While Greene has hit just .200 (9-for-45) this month, the 24-year-old has swatted five homers and picked up 15 RBI in that 12-game span. He earned his way to a second straight All-Star game in the first half of the season, slashing .284/.335/.544 with 78 RBI and 53 runs across 397 plate appearances. Greene's strikeout and walk rates have trended in the wrong direction in 2025, but he's nonetheless on track for a career year. He has already matched his HR total from 2024 and surpassed the 74 RBI he collected then. Only MVP candidates Cal Raleigh (82) and Aaron Judge (81) have driven in more runs than Greene.

Riley Greene Homers Twice, Drives in Six on Wednesday

Detroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene had a big day in the first game of his team's Wednesday doubleheader with the Washington Nationals. Greene went 2-for-5 with two homers and six RBI in the contest, an 11-2 win over Washington. He did not start in the second game of the doubleheader but entered as a pinch-hitter and ultimately went 0-for-2. Greene kicked off the scoring in Game 1 with a three-run homer in the first inning and later added another three-run shot to give the Tigers a 10-0 lead in the fourth. The veteran outfielder is having a breakout season, hitting .296 with 21 homers, 49 runs, 69 RBI, and one steal across 328 at-bats. He has been on fire of late, batting .383 with seven homers and 21 RBI over his past 15 contests. Greene has forced his way into the conversation as a must-start in fantasy outfields going forward.

Riley Greene, Parker Meadows Taking Game 2 Off

Detroit Tigers outfielders Riley Greene and Parker Meadows will both take a seat for Game 2 of their doubleheader on Wednesday in D.C. against the hosting Washington Nationals. Jahmai Jones is starting in left field and batting third, while Wenceel Perez is making the start in right field and is hitting sixth against Nationals left-hander MacKenzie Gore. Justyn-Henry Mallow, who was called up from Triple-A Toledo, is serving as the designated hitter and is batting leadoff. Detroit will give Greene and Meadows the second game off against a tough lefty after he did plenty of damage in the Game 1 victory with two home runs and six RBI. Greene is in the midst of a breakout in 2025 for the first-place Tigers and is now up to 21 home runs in 84 games. Meadows is still trying to find his groove at the plate after a late start to the year and went 1-for-5 with three strikeouts in Game 1.

Riley Greene Keeps Mashing With Pair of Homers

Detroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene crushed two homers and drove in four on Friday in a terrific performance. Greene hit a three-run homer in the second inning and a solo shot in the eighth, but it wasn't enough for the Tigers, who ended up losing 14-8 to the Tampa Bay Rays. The 24-year-old also singled and walked in this one, reaching base four times in total. It has been an extremely strong year for the breakout star, who has quietly put together one of the better four-category seasons in fantasy. He now has a .287 AVG, 40 runs, 17 homers, and 59 RBI. That is elite production from the outfield position, and it might be time to adjust our thinking on the level of player Greene is. At any rate, he is clearly a must-start player in fantasy and should be regarded as a premier option in all formats.

Riley Greene Homers, Knocks in Four in Win

Detroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene homered and drove in four runs to help the club to an 11-5 win over the Cincinnati Reds on Friday. Greene hadn't gone deep since May 30, but he ended a 12-game dry spell with a 426-foot bomb off starter Nick Martinez in the bottom of the third inning. The 24-year-old also doubled during a 2-for-4 night. He's now batting .279/.334/.498 with 14 HRs, 48 RBI, and 34 runs scored over 287 plate appearances. While Greene is striking out at a lofty 31.4% clip, he's on pace to eclipse the career-high marks in HRs (24) and RBI (74) he established last year. The lefty-swinging Greene is a must-start for fantasy managers against right-handed pitchers. He'll face Reds righty Brady Singer on Saturday.

Riley Greene Sitting Thursday

Detroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene will not be in Thursday's lineup for their series finale with the Chicago White Sox. It's a regular (sparse) day off for the former first-round pick, who has started all but two games thus far in 2025. Teammate Zach McKinstry is manning left field and batting sixth in his stead. Greene has recorded a hit in four straight games with three multi-hit outings in that stretch. He's taken a step back this season regarding his plate discipline, but has also slashed a crisp .283/.336/.506 with 13 home runs, 14 doubles, 42 RBI, and 32 runs scored. The 24-year-old stands an excellent chance to eclipse the personal-best mark of 24 homers he set a year ago.

Riley Greene Homers, Doubles, Drives in Four on Tuesday

Detroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene had a huge game in his team's 5-4 win over the St. Louis Cardinals on Tuesday. Greene went 3-for-4 with a double, a homer, and four RBI to help lead his team to the win. The veteran outfielder gave Detroit a 4-0 lead with his two-run homer in the third inning, a missile that had an exit velocity of 108.3 MPH. Greene is off to a fast start this season, hitting .286 with 10 doubles, 12 homers, 27 runs, 34 RBI, and one steal. He is well on his way to a career year, hitting in the middle of a dangerous Detroit lineup.

Riley Greene Homers For Second Straight Day

Detroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene went 2-for-4 with a home run, three RBI, and a walk in Friday's 5-4 win over the Toronto Blue Jays. Greene has been hot in May, slashing .320/.404/.680 with five home runs and 11:6 K:BB over 13 games. The 24-year-old is posting career-best quality of contact metrics with an excellent 15.5% Barrel% and 48.3% HardHit%. After slugging 24 home runs last season, Greene has already slugged 11 in the first few months of 2025. Greene will look to continue his power surge against the Blue Jays this weekend and remains a strong fantasy asset in all formats.

Riley Greene Out For First Game Of Doubleheader

Detroit Tigers outfielder Riley Greene is resting for Game 1 of a doubleheader at Coors Field on Thursday against the Colorado Rockies. Zach McKinstry will join the lineup in left field and will bat in the three-hole against Rockies left-hander Kyle Freeland. Fantasy managers should expect Greene to return in the second game of the twin bill. The 24-year-old left-handed-hitting-outfielder has been swinging a hot bat recently for Detroit, going 13-for-32 (.406) with four home runs, eight RBI and eight runs scored in eight games since April 28 to raise his season slash line to .266/.315/.475 in 139 at-bats. McKinstry is in a lefty-lefty matchup, which usually isn't a good thing, but he's had reverse splits so far in 2025 and has gone 12-for-33 (.364) with three RBI against southpaws this year. Treat him as a DFS sleeper at Coors Field in a prime lineup spot on Thursday.
