Hao-Yu Lee Launches Sixth Long Ball

Detroit Tigers second base prospect Hao-Yu Lee went 2-for-5 with a home run and two strikeouts during their contest against Triple-A Charlotte. This was Lee's second-straight contest tallying at least two hits. This was also his second long ball since the start of June. Lee is considered the No. 6-ranked prospect in the Detroit system on MLB.com. The 22-year-old spent the entire 2024 campaign with Double-A and was given the nod to open the 2025 campaign with Triple-A Toledo. Through his first 63 games at the top level of the minor leagues, Lee has posted a .255/.361/.410 line with nine doubles, five triples, six home runs, 10 stolen bases, and a .771 OPS. At Double-A, Lee held a strong .298/.363/.488 line. Lee could be in the mix to reach the majors in the second half.

Hao-Yu Lee Goes Deep, Swipes A Bag

Detroit Tigers infield prospect Hao-Yu Lee went 4-for-6 with a home run and a stolen base during Tuesday's contest against Triple-A Indianapolis. Lee tallied three RBI and scored three runs. This impressive outing extended his current hitting streak to four games. Over his last four contests, Lee has posted a strong .471/.500/.765 slash line with one triple, one round-tripper, and a 1:3 BB:K. However, before this recent surge, the 22-year-old was off to a modest start at Triple-A, posting a .158/.289/.237 line with just two extra-base hits across the first 10 games of the campaign. After spending the entire 2024 season with Double-A Erie, Lee was able to earn a spot with Triple-A Toledo to open the 2025 season. If he continues to turn the corner, he could push for a mid-season MLB debut.

Hao-Yu Lee Getting Work At Third Base

According to Evan Woodbery of the MLive Media Group, Detroit Tigers second base prospect Hao-Yu Lee is getting opportunities at third base during spring training. Lee has been primarily deployed at the keystone throughout his time in the minor leagues. However, the team may look to increase his positional flexibility. Last summer, Lee spent the entire campaign at the Double-A level. Across his first look at that level, the 22-year-old performed quite well, holding a .298/.363/.488 slash line. He hit 19 doubles, 12 home runs, and swiped 16 bags. He held a 33:69 BB:K ratio. Across 81 career games at the High-A level, the No. 6 ranked prospect in the system posted a .274/.364/.413 line. If he performs well at spring training, Lee could open the campaign at the Triple-A level and push for a 2025 debut.

Hao-Yu Lee Strong Through First Half At Double-A

Detroit Tigers second base prospect Hao-Yu Lee has performed exceptionally well in his first look at Double-A ball through the first half of the 2024 campaign. Across 73 games, the 21-year-old has held an excellent .296/.365/.505 line with 12 home runs, 49 RBI, 13 stolen bases, and a 30:61 BB:K ratio. Last summer at High-A, the infielder held a similar .276/.366/.404 line through 72 games. Lee has been able to raise his wRC from 43 to 56 over the past two summers and has maintained a very similar walk and strikeout rate, which is a great sign going forward. Lee is a candidate to reach Triple-A later this summer if he continues this strong play.

Hao-Yu Lee Continues Hot Stretch With Three-Hit Performance

Detroit Tigers second base prospect Hao-Yu Lee went 3-for-5 on Thursday evening with a home run to extend his current hitting streak to seven games. During this stretch, Lee has held a .484/.515/.806 line with five multi-hit games. This is Lee's second extended hitting streak this season, as he had a 10-game streak in May. Through his first 61 games at Double-A, the 21-year-old has performed very well with a .306/.379/.533 slash line with 11 home runs, 44 RBI, 11 stolen bases, and a 29:48 BB:K ratio. Lee spent the majority of the past two summers with High-A and held a similar .274/.364/.413 line. The number 13 ranked prospect in the Detroit system on MLB Pipeline has yet to slow down in the minor leagues and is worth paying close attention to in dynasty leagues as he could be joining Triple-A later this summer.

Hao-Yu Lee Riding Eight-Game Hitting Streak

Detroit Tigers second base prospect Hao-Yu Lee is currently riding an impressive eight-game hitting streak. In this stretch, the 21-year-old has held a .417/.436/.778 line with four long balls and ten RBI. In fact, Lee has only gone hitless three times in the past 17 games. Since getting off to a slow start in April with a .257 AVG and .378 SLG through April, Lee has posted an improved .267 AVG and .485 SLG in May. MLB Pipeline ranks Lee as the number 13th overall prospect in the Detroit system and projects him to reach the major leagues next season. Lee could be worth stashing in dynasty leagues if he carries this strong production into Triple-A later this summer.

Hao-Yu Lee Plates 10 In Productive Week

Detroit Tigers infield prospect Hao-Yu Lee is a former international signing from Taiwan who was acquired from the Phillies at last summer's trade deadline. He was swapped for Michael Lorenzen in a one-for-one trade, and so far, it looks like Detroit won that swap. Lee is a very polished hitter who gets good speed and strength behind his swings, works counts effectively, and hits to all parts of the field. There are also some indications that he may have some untapped (sneaky) pop. Finally, he's an above-average defender with good baseball IQ and reaction time. He'll likely play second base long-term, though he's looked solid on the left side of the infield before, too. Last week, Lee went 7-for-18 with two homers, 10 RBI, four walks, and four strikeouts. There aren't too many prospects who can hit for power while maintaining a respectable K/BB rate, but Lee is one of those players. He'll likely make his MLB debut in 2025.

Hao-Yu Lee Posts First Career Two-Home Run Game

Detroit Tigers infield prospect Hao-Yu Lee posted his first two-home run game of his career in Sunday's victory with five total RBI. In his first 28 games at Double-A, the 21-year-old has a .273/.357/.436 with three long balls and four swiped bags. Last season, Lee spent time in Single and High-A with a cumulative .273/.362/.399 line with six total home runs. Lee is considered the 13th overall prospect in the Tigers system on MLB Pipeline and is projected to make his major league debut in 2025. Dynasty managers should monitor Lee's power output as he approaches Triple-A, especially since he has never tallied more than ten home runs in a single minor league season.
