Tigers Calling Up Jackson Jobe

The Detroit Tigers are calling up right-hander Jackson Jobe, the best pitching prospect in baseball, from Triple-A Toledo on Monday. Jobe will join the bullpen as the Tigers try to lock down the final wild-card spot in the American League in the final week of the regular season. Detroit controls their own destiny this week and will face the Tampa Bay Rays for three games before finishing with a weekend series versus the division-rival Chicago White Sox. The Tigers and Kansas City Royals enter Monday with identical 82-74 records, with the Minnesota Twins a game back for the final wild-card spot. The 22-year-old Jobe will push for a rotation spot in 2025, but for now he'll help in a relief role. The former third overall pick in 2021 has gone 5-3 this year with a 2.36 ERA, a 1.12 WHIP, 96 strikeouts and 45 walks in 91 2/3 innings (21 starts) at three minor-league levels in 2024.

Jackson Jobe Promoted To Triple-A

Detroit Tigers starting pitching prospect Jackson Jobe is being promoted to Triple-A Toledo. Jobe is considered the No.2 prospect in the Tiger system and the No.8 in the sport on MLB.com. The right-hander opened the campaign by getting his second look at High-A and needed just nine innings to move up to Double-A. At Double-A Erie, the former number-three overall pick held a stellar 1.95 ERA, 1.09 WHIP and a 38:81 BB:K ratio across 73 2/3 innings of work. Given how well Jobe has performed at Double-A, a late-season major league debut is not out of the question. Fantasy managers should follow Jobe's Triple-A debut very closely. Even if he does not reach the majors this season, he will be a popular breakout pick entering the 2025 season and remains a coveted asset in dynasty and keeper formats.

Jackson Jobe K's Seven For Double-A Erie

Detroit Tigers pitching prospect Jackson Jobe earned a no-decision for Double-A Erie on Sunday. Jobe, the club's No. 2 prospect per MLB Pipeline fired 5 1/3 innings and allowed three hits, two runs and four walks with seven strikeouts. It was the third time in his last four outings that Jobe has allowed three or more walks, but that has been uncharacteristic for the most past as he sits with a comfortable 1.10 WHIP on the season. Jobe has spent much of the season with Erie, but also made three starts for High-A West Michigan. Between both levels, Jobe has combined for a 2.12 ERA with 73 strikeouts in 68 innings over 16 starts. The 22-year-old remains one of the best pitchers in the minors and should have a very good chance of making his debut in 2025. He should already be rostered in dynasty leagues and managers in redraft leagues should keep an eye on him entering the 2025 season.

Jackson Jobe Throws Six Hitless Innings

Saturday night, Detroit Tigers pitching prospect Jackson Jobe made his third start with Double-A Erie. The young righty completed six innings, giving up no hits, walking two, and striking out five. Since being promoted to Double-A in early July, he's been dominant. Through 16 innings, he's racked up 21 strikeouts, while only allowing one run, five hits, and six walks. Detroit's No. 2 prospect (per MLB.com), Jobe is expected to make his MLB debut sometime next year.

Jackson Jobe Dealing At Double-A Erie

Detroit Tigers pitching prospect Jackson Jobe (hamstring) is dialing things up at Double-A Erie after missing some time with a hamstring injury. The right-handed flamethrower has thrown 10 innings in two starts in July with 16 strikeouts, four walks, and just an earned run on five hits. The 21-year-old is the top pitching prospect in the minors at the moment and is showing why. With Paul Skenes dominating the big leagues and earning an All-Star Game start, Jobe is the best young pitching prospect to stash in dynasty leagues. He should earn a Triple-A promotion by the end of this season and potentially a big-league look, though next year might be more likely for an MLB debut.

Jackson Jobe Keeps Dominating Double-A

Detroit Tigers pitching prospect Jackson Jobe had another terrific start on Thursday, tossing five scoreless innings with eight punchouts for Double-A Erie. Jobe only allowed two hits but did walk three. The 21-year-old is the number one pitching prospect in the majors according to MLB Pipeline, and he has certainly looked the part this year. Jobe has a 1.77 ERA and 0.90 WHIP with 48 strikeouts in 35 IP in the minors this year. The Tigers likely won't compete this year, and Jobe appears to be on an innings limit after throwing just 79 IP last year, but there is a chance that he gets a call-up in September to get a taste of the big leagues before joining full-time in 2025. It's not the worst idea to stash Jobe in deeper leagues or leagues with NA spots.

Jackson Jobe Strikes Out Eight In Return To Double-A

Detroit Tigers starting pitching prospect Jackson Jobe looked stellar in his return to Double-A on Friday as he logged five innings of one-run ball. He struck out eight and allowed just three hits and one walk. Jobe was placed on the injured list on May 2 with a left hamstring strain. During his rehab stint, he made three short starts at High-A and tossed nine frames to the tune of a 2.00 ERA and 0.67 WHIP. Through 21 innings at Double-A this season, the former third-overall pick has dominated with a 2.08 ERA, 0.97 WHIP, and an 11:32 BB:K ratio. The 21-year-old could still push for a late-season major league debut due to his stellar play, even though the injury slowed him down for a month.

Jackson Jobe Completes His Rehab Assignment

Detroit Tigers right-handed pitching prospect Jackson Jobe (hamstring) has been cleared from his rehab assignment and has been reinstated to Double-A Erie. Jobe had been out of action in the minors since early May with a left-hamstring strain before beginning a rehab assignment in the lower levels of the minors. The 21-year-old is the team's No. 2 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, and is their top pitching prospect. Before landing on the seven-day injured list, Jobe was looking electric at Erie, posting a nice 2.16 ERA while striking out 24 and walking 10 in 16 2/3 innings pitched. Jobe features a fastball-slider mix but also has added a cutter and has a changeup. He's one of the best minor-league pitching prospects around and should already be stashed in dynasty/keeper leagues. The Tigers probably want to see how Jobe fares at Triple-A Toledo before calling him up, which may not come until 2025.

Jackson Jobe Dials Up The Heat In Rehab Start

Detroit Tigers top pitching prospect Jackson Jobe (hamstring) touched 99 miles per hour on his fastball as he fired three scoreless innings in a rehab start Sunday for High-A West Michigan. Jobe threw 32 pitches (24 for strikes) as he struck out four with no walks. It was an encouraging sign as the talented right-hander works his way back from a hamstring injury. The 22-year-old is one of the top minor-league arms with a devastating fastball-slider combination. His progress this year has been stalled a bit because of his injury but he is on the mend and could reach Triple-A by the end of the season should he demonstrate full health. Next year could be the year for him in Detroit and he has the tools to contribute to fantasy teams right away.

Jackson Jobe To Throw Bullpen On Saturday

Detroit Tigers starting pitcher Jackson Jobe (hamstring) is scheduled to throw a bullpen session on Saturday. The right-hander hasn't pitched since being removed from his start in Double-A in the beginning of May. The Tigers are obviously going to take it slowly with one of their top pitching prospects. The fact Jobe is getting back on the mound is a good sign. Hopefully he'll be able to get back to pitching in Double-A within the next few weeks.
