Scott Kingery Launches Two-Run Homer

Philadelphia Phillies second baseman Scott Kingery launched a two-run homer to dead center in the Phillies Spring Training game against the Red Sox Thursday. Kingery had an up-and-down season last year working in a super-utility role, but the Phillies have plans for him to stick at second base this year and hopefully some consistency will help his bat play up. Kingery batted .258 last season but posted a 45.9 percent hard-hit rate with a solid 26.2 percent line-drive rate. Given his quality of contact and speed, Kingery should be able to hit 20-plus homers and approach 20 stolen bases making him a solid value at his current ADP of 183.

Jean Segura, Scott Kingery To See Time At 2B, 3B

Philadelphia Phillies infielders Jean Segura and Scott Kingery will both see time at second base and third base in spring training. It will be the "sum of three parts" in deciding where they play during the regular season. Segura hit a healthy .280/.323/.420 with 12 home runs, 60 RBI and 10 stolen bases in 144 games in 2019 in his first year in Philly. He's never played third base in the big leagues, though, so the better bet is that Kingery spends most of his time at the hot corner with Segura at the keystone. The 29-year-old is no longer a lock to steal 20-plus bags for fantasy owners and also shouldn't be relied on for 20-plus home runs, which he's only done once in his career.

Scott Kingery Launches Solo Homer Tuesday

Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Scott Kingery went 1-for-3 with a solo home run Tuesday against the Braves. Kingery had been stuck in a 4-for-31 slump heading into the game but fantasy owner should stick with Kingery as he should turn things around soon. In September, Kingery is batting just .194 despite making 60.9 percent hard contact. He's been the victim of a .167 BABIP but has success when he hits it where there are no defenders with four home runs this month. The home run power has been there and the hits should start falling for him again soon.
