Devin White News
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers activated linebacker Devin White and defensive tackle Steve McLendon from the Reserve/COVID-19 list on Monday. They are both expected to play in the Divisional Round against the New Orleans Saints on Sunday. White and McLendon have missed the last two games. Getting White back is huge, as the second-year linebacker has arguably been their best defensive player in 2020, recording a team-high 140 tackles while adding nine sacks and 15 tackles for loss. McLendon will also improve the Bucs pass rush against veteran Drew Brees and a high-scoring Saints offense. While Tampa's defense has been much improved this year, they won't have a ton of upside in what should be a high-scoring Divisional Round game this Sunday.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers head coach Bruce Arians said that rookie linebacker Devin White (knee) will be out for Week 4 against the Rams. The fifth overall pick will miss his second straight game. White has eight total tackles in two games in the middle of Tampa's D to start his career. He has the potential to be a difference-maker in his rookie season, but he just hasn't been able to stay on the field lately. Tampa's defense, mainly their defensive line, has looked solid this year, but they're still not a recommended fantasy play. That's especially true while going up against a potent Rams offense on the road this weekend.
Tampa Bay Buccaneers rookie linebacker Devin White (knee) missed practice all week and has been ruled out for Week 3 against the Giants. Even though White is just a rookie, he's one of the most influential players on the Bucs defense, so his loss this weekend is notable. Tampa's D is intriguing as a streaming option on Sunday against rookie quarterback Daniel Jones in his NFL debut, but the loss of White isn't ideal in the middle of the field. Expect New York to lean heavily on running back Saquon Barkley and tight end Evan Engram. They're also getting top receiver Sterling Shepard back from a concussion.
