The Detroit Lions announced on Thursday that they re-signed cornerback Khalil Dorsey (ankle) to an undisclosed deal. Dorsey will return for his third season in Detroit. The 26-year-old defensive back played in a career-high 14 games (one start) in 2024 and had a career-high 14 tackles (eight solo) and two pass breakups before suffering a season-ending ankle injury late in the year. Dorsey basically split half of his snaps on defense and half on special teams and is likely to do so again in 2025 as long as he's over his ankle injury. The former undrafted free agent out of Northern Arizona began his NFL career with the Baltimore Ravens but then didn't resurface again until 2023 in Detroit. Dorsey has only 27 total tackles (17 solo) and three passes defensed in 33 games played (three starts). He will provide secondary depth for the Lions entering training camp.
Khalil Dorsey, Carlton Davis III Won't Return Versus The Bills
Detroit Lions cornerbacks Khalil Dorsey (ankle) and Carlton Davis III (jaw) won't return to Sunday's meeting with the Buffalo Bills. Davis left to receive a concussion evaluation along with his jaw injury. As a result, Dorsey entered the contest, although he didn't last long before taking a big hit. With the Lions down two players from the secondary, the team will need to get creative the rest of the way, considering the Detroit defense has had issues slowing down the Bills offense through the first half.
Baltimore Ravens cornerback Khalil Dorsey (shoulder) will miss at least the next few games as he deals with a dislocated shoulder that he sustained during Sunday's win over the Colts. But as the Ravens Defense continues to deal with injuries -- particularly in the secondary -- they could be getting a key piece back in Marlon Humphrey, who is expected to clear COVID-19 protocol in time to suit up for Week 10 against New England. Humphrey has built on his 2019 All-Pro campaign by compiling a league-high four forced fumbles in addition to 2.5 sacks, 40 tackles, and an interception through his first seven games. The Baltimore defense has trended toward being one of the elite units in the league through the first half of the season, and a matchup against a floundering Patriots offense will only garner the group more intrigue. Check back throughout the week for updates on Humphrey and Co., but all signs point toward the Ravens being one of the most sought-after Week 10 defenses.
