Washington Commanders quarterback Jayden Daniels has experienced the highs and lows of the NFL in his first two seasons. In 2024, Daniels won the 2025 Offensive Rookie of the Year, finished as QB5 in fantasy formats, and helped the Commanders reach their first NFC Championship Game since 1992. The next season was brutal, as Daniels suffered several injuries and the team went 5-12. Now, Daniels will have to operate without his star left tackle, Laremy Tunsil (triceps), who will miss most of the 2026 season. While the former second-overall pick has significant upside, with upgraded weapons and elite rushing ability, his floor is very low. His injury history and potential offensive line concerns make him a high-risk/high-reward option in 2026.

After an elite 2025 season, Seattle Seahawks kicker Jason Myers enters this season as one of the best at the position. Myers made 41 of 48 field goals (a league-high) and all 48 extra-point attempts, helping the Seahawks win the Super Bowl over the New England Patriots. Myers averaged 11.9 fantasy points per game last season, finishing as the second-best kicker on a per-game basis, behind Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn. While the volume was there, his accuracy could've been better: he made 85.4% of his field goals, which ranked below the league average in 2025. While he may not be able to fully replicate his fantastic season, Myers should be among the top kickers off the board in 2026.

Jacoby Brissett Struggles with Deep Ball on Sunday

Arizona Cardinals veteran quarterback Jacoby Brissett has struggled with the deep ball in training camp, missing roughly seven throws in Sunday's practice, including four to wide receiver Marvin Harrison Jr. Brissett signed a reworked one-year, $15.5 million contract in late July and started the final 12 games of the 2025 season, going 1-11 despite posting solid numbers. With the team using the 65th overall pick in the 2026 NFL Draft on quarterback Carson Beck (who was fantastic in Thursday's Hall-of-Fame Game), Brissett's status in Arizona remains uncertain. If Brissett struggles to start the season, the Cardinals could opt to start the rookie to assess whether he's the future at quarterback. In Superflex formats, Brissett is a solid late-round option, but expectations should be tempered after his extremely high-volume 2025 season.

Justice Hill a Great Fit in Ravens' New Offense

Baltimore Ravens running back Justice Hill enters his seventh NFL season as he prepares for his first coaching change. Hill had a down year in 2025, totaling 262 yards and three touchdowns in 10 games, averaging 5.5 half-PPR fantasy points per game. The good news: former Bears' offensive coordinator Declan Doyle is now the team's play caller. Doyle comes from the Sean Payton coaching tree, and in all the years he's been in the NFL, running backs have caught more than 50 passes in five of the seven seasons. Payton's offense favors throwing to running backs, which is good news for Hill, who is clearly the best receiving back in the offense. Hill's role in Baltimore is solidified, but with star running back Derrick Henry expected to take most of the snaps in this backfield, Hill doesn't carry much fantasy value in 2026.

Red Flags Surrounding Rachaad White's Value This Season

Washington Commanders running back Rachaad White enters the 2026 season amid concerns about his situation. Over the past two seasons, White has averaged 54 scrimmage yards and scored 13 touchdowns in 27 games, posting 11 half-PPR fantasy points per game. After running behind one of the NFL's strongest run-blocking units, White now joins Washington, where the team will be without star left tackle Laremy Tunsil (triceps) for most of the season. His career average of 3.9 yards per carry, aided by the Buccaneers' solid offensive line, could drop substantially if the Commanders' offensive line struggles without Tunsil. He will also have to contend with second-year running back Jacory Croskey-Merritt, who has stood out in the passing game this camp and averaged 4.6 yards per carry in 2025. With offensive line concerns and a young back standing out, White has plenty of red flags heading into the 2026 season.

Kansas City Chiefs tight end Noah Gray remains the second-string tight end, working behind future Hall-of-Famer Travis Kelce. When asked what he's learning from the veteran tight end, Gray said, "I'm privileged to be on the same team as him, to pick his mind, to watch him continue to make great plays; that's just the type of player and dude he is." With Kelce remaining the team's TE1, Gray will need to bounce back to his previous form to have any fantasy relevance in 2026. He remains a late-round dynasty option, with Kelce expected to contemplate retirement after the season.

Although Murray remains the favorite to win the job, both quarterbacks will need to perform in the preseason to be the Week 1 starter.

Palmer has made play after play in the past week's sessions, while Keon Coleman has struggled with drops. The WR3 role in Buffalo could be Palmer's, as he works behind newly acquired wideout D.J. Moore and slot receiver Khalil Shakir. There's a possibility that Palmer plays the second-most snaps in this receiver room, with Shakir mostly working in just three-receiver sets. Fantasy managers in deep leagues should keep an eye on Palmer in the later rounds.

In his first game action of the 2026 season, Carolina Panthers running back Trevor Etienne had four carries for 12 yards and one reception for a loss of 1 yard in the 33-30 win over the Arizona Cardinals. Etienne was unable to show out, while running backs A.J. Dillon (36 yards and a touchdown on four attempts) and undrafted free agent Miles Davis (four carries for 53 yards) did. Whoever the third-stringer is will work behind starters Chuba Hubbard and Jonathon Brooks in 2026, so it's hard to fathom Etienne having any fantasy value. Fantasy managers who have him in either redraft or dynasty leagues should consider dropping him for a better option with more upside.

KaVontae Turpin Working With First-Team Offense

Dallas Cowboys wide receiver and returner KaVontae Turpin has had a strong training camp and has worked with the No. 1 offense throughout. Turpin has made plays as a receiver, catching passes from quarterback Dak Prescott, and remains one of the NFL's best returners. Last season, the undrafted playmaker hauled in 26 of 38 targets for 396 yards and two touchdowns, while adding 89 rushing yards and leading the NFL in kick return yards. While he'll likely work behind CeeDee Lamb, George Pickens, and Ryan Flournoy, Turpin adds fantasy value in leagues that favor return yards or in 16+ team leagues. Otherwise, he's on the outside of fantasy relevance for the 2026 season.

In his fourth season, Hall had 243 carries for 1,065 yards and four touchdowns, along with 36 receptions for 350 yards and one touchdown. His receiving workload saw a massive dip last season, falling from over 4.75 targets per game to just three in 2025. Hall will need to be a major factor in the passing game alongside quarterback Geno Smith to reach his current ADP.

According to Theo Mackie, the Cardinals are focused on creating matchups and finding ways to get Love involved. They don't appear to be afraid to use Love both in and out of the backfield. The Cardinals used the third overall pick during this year's draft on Love. However, it's not the best fit at the moment with James Conner still on the roster, and the team signing Tyler Allgeier as well. Love has the skillset to be a RB1 right away, but that's unlikely to happen with Conner and Allgeier in the picture. Long-term, Love has the entire package, but a crowded backfield leaves Love as Rotoballer's RB13 entering the season.

Minnesota Vikings quarterback J.J. McCarthy is off to a hot start during Sunday's practice. According to Will Ragatz, McCarthy is looking strong and made an impressive throw to Myles Price to the left side during 7-on-7 drills. It seems like the Vikings are committed to having McCarthy and Kyler Murray compete for the starting gig in training camp. Over the last week, McCarthy was doing more work as the No. 2 quarterback, but his strong play on Sunday could help his argument to become the starter. The Vikings obviously want to wait and see how the quarterbacks do in preseason game action before they make a final decision. Murray remains the favorite to start with McCarthy still needing some time to develop.

Arizona Cardinals wide receiver Michael Wilson has been catching everything during training camp, according to Johnny Venerable. It's still early, but Wilson is looking like the best wideout in Arizona right now. This shouldn't be shocking news after Wilson's breakout campaign last year. Last season, Wilson hauled in 78 receptions for over 1,000 receiving yards and seven touchdowns in 17 games. There is clearly strong chemistry between Wilson and quarterback Jacoby Brissett. The 26-year-old appears to be on the rise, but we'll see if he can top his performance from last season. Wilson currently ranks as Rotoballer's WR40 heading into the 2026 season.

Tennessee Titans running back Tyjae Spears (soreness) was back on the practice field on Sunday, according to Jim Wyatt. This is good news after Spears didn't finish Friday's practice session due to soreness. The issue appears to be behind him as Spears busted into space for a long touchdown during Sunday's practice. The backfield in Tennessee is likely going to be a headache for fantasy managers this year. Tony Pollard figures to begin the season as the lead back, but Spears and rookie Nicholas Singleton will be mixed in as well. Spears currently sits as Rotoballer's RB71, but he does have some late-round sleeper appeal.

Tennessee Titans wide receiver Carnell Tate put on a show during Sunday's practice session, according to Jim Wyatt. Tate had a great day on Friday, but turned it up a notch on Sunday. Tate caught three touchdown passes on the day and is beginning to look comfortable in this Titans offense. He made a nice catch later in practice when he fought off defensive back Cor'Dale Flott for the ball. The rookie wideout has looked great early in camp. Tate was the 4th overall pick during this year's draft. He should be a fine middle-round option and currently ranks as Rotoballer's WR30.

Josh Dobbs Joining Lions as Jared Goff's Backup

The Detroit Lions are signing quarterback Josh Dobbs to a one-year, $1.425 million contract with $475,000 fully guaranteed, according to Mike Garafolo. The move comes after Teddy Bridgewater stepped away from the team, creating an opening behind starter Jared Goff. Garafolo reports that the financial commitment reflects Detroit's plan for Dobbs to serve as its No. 2 quarterback. The 31-year-old spent last season with New England, appearing in four games and completing 7 of 10 passes for 65 yards. He has made 15 starts during his NFL career, giving Detroit an experienced option behind Goff while undrafted rookie Luke Altmyer continues to develop. Goff has already been ruled out for the entire preseason, so Dobbs should have an opportunity to get acclimated quickly once the signing becomes official.

Ka'imi Fairbairn Remains a Top-Two Fantasy Kicker

Houston Texans kicker Ka'imi Fairbairn was nearly automatic last season. He made 44 of 48 field goals in 15 games, tying the NFL single-season record, and didn't miss once from inside 50 yards. Fairbairn was plenty dangerous from farther out, too, hitting nine of 13 attempts from 50-plus and finishing with 25 made field goals from at least 40 yards. That workload helped him average a position-best 12.9 standard fantasy points per game. Asking for another 44 field goals would be aggressive, especially if Houston does a better job turning red-zone trips into touchdowns this year. Fairbairn doesn't need that kind of volume to stay near the top of the position, though. He has converted better than 91% of his field goals in three of the last four seasons, and RotoBaller has him 165th overall and K2 in its August 8 half-PPR rankings. Aubrey is the first kicker off the board, but Fairbairn belongs right behind him.

Dawson Knox Needs Touchdowns to Matter in Redraft

Buffalo Bills tight end Dawson Knox stayed involved last season, catching 36 passes for 417 yards and four touchdowns across 17 games. He was especially useful near the goal line, drawing 12 red-zone targets and scoring on four of them. The issue is what happens if Dalton Kincaid gets a healthier season and a larger role. Kincaid managed 39 catches for 571 yards and five scores in only 12 games in 2025, and he said this spring that he feels better physically than he has in years. Buffalo also picked up Kincaid's fifth-year option. Knox isn't going anywhere after agreeing to a new deal through 2028, and his blocking keeps him on the field plenty. That does not guarantee enough targets for fantasy. RotoBaller has Knox 255th overall in half-PPR, which is deep-draft territory. Unless Kincaid misses time, Knox looks more like a touchdown-dependent TE3 than someone to target in standard redraft leagues.

Matthew Stafford's QB3 Finish Will Be Hard to Repeat

Los Angeles Rams quarterback Matthew Stafford put together an MVP season at 37, throwing for an NFL-high 4,707 yards and 46 touchdowns while finishing QB3 on a per-game basis. The offense around him is still loaded. Puka Nacua and Davante Adams are back, and Los Angeles led the league in both scoring and total offense last season. The bigger question is how many of those touchdowns Stafford can bring with him into 2026. His touchdown rate jumped to 7.7% last year after sitting at 4.8% for his career, and his fantasy scoring still comes almost entirely through the air. Stafford is now 38, which is another reason not to treat last season as the new baseline. He has looked sharp when practicing in camp, with the Rams managing his workload to keep him fresh for Week 1. RotoBaller ranks Stafford 96th overall and QB14. There is still plenty here for another productive season, but drafting him as a QB2 makes more sense than chasing last year's QB3 finish.
