Joshua Palmer "Feeling a Lot Better"

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Joshua Palmer (ankle) is coming off a frustrating first year with the team, in which he missed five regular-season games due to an ankle injury. The 26-year-old wasn't relevant at all in fantasy football, catching a career-low 22 passes on 37 targets for 303 yards and no touchdowns across 12 regular-season games (eight starts). However, Palmer is "feeling a lot better" this offseason and is optimistic he'll be better in his second season in Buffalo in 2026. He worked off to the side during organized team activities but has been back on the field during mandatory minicamp this week. The former third-round pick (77th overall) by the Los Angeles Chargers in 2021 out of the University of Tennessee averaged 12.6 yards per catch and had 182 receptions for 2,287 yards and 10 touchdowns on 282 targets in 58 games in his first four years in the league with the Bolts. Palmer surely has bounce-back potential after being banged up in 2025, but with the addition of receiver DJ Moore to the fold as a deep threat in the Bills' offense, it's hard to imagine him having a consistent enough role to excite fantasy managers going into the start of the 2026 season this fall.

Joshua Palmer's Dynasty Stock Fading Rapidly Entering 2026

Across 12 games (eight starts) in 2025, Buffalo Bills wide receiver Joshua Palmer (ankle) recorded 22 catches for 303 yards and zero touchdowns on 37 targets. The veteran wideout missed five games due to knee and ankle issues in the middle of the year, and was ultimately placed on Injured Reserve ahead of the postseason due to lingering effects from the injuries. Palmer is still working his way back to full strength as of OTAs, but he's expected to be ready to go for the start of the season. With improved health, the 26-year-old could be in position for a bounce-back year in 2026. However, his role in the Buffalo offense is less secure after the team's offseason trade for veteran wideout DJ Moore and its selection of wide receiver Skyler Bell in the 2026 NFL Draft. Bills wideout Keon Coleman is reportedly impressing his coaching staff in the spring after a down year in 2025 and could also pose a threat to Palmer's playing time on the outside. Given his health issues, limited production track record, and uncertain playing time situation, Palmer checks in as RotoBaller's dynasty WR126 entering 2026.

Joshua Palmer Working Out on the Side at OTAs

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Joshua Palmer (ankle) was seen working out on the side for most of Tuesday's OTA practice session, according to Alaina Getzenberg. Palmer had a season to forget in 2025 in his first year with the Bills after opening his NFL career with four years with the Los Angeles Chargers. The 26-year-old played in just 12 games and caught 22 of his 37 targets for 303 yards and no touchdowns, the first time in his five-year career that he didn't score at all. Palmer also missed both of the Bills' playoff games and finished out the season on Injured Reserve with an ankle injury. The former third-round pick by the Chargers in 2021 out of Tennessee is still rehabbing his ankle in May, although he should have plenty of time to get ready for the Week 1 regular-season opener this fall in early September. After the addition of deep threat DJ Moore and rookie wideout Skyler Bell, Palmer figures to have an even tougher path to consistent targets from quarterback Josh Allen. Palmer isn't even inside RotoBaller's top-100 WR rankings for the upcoming 2026 season.

Joshua Palmer Has a Disappointing First Year in Buffalo

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Joshua Palmer (ankle) didn't quite live up to expectations during his first season with the team. After four years with the Los Angeles Chargers, Palmer inked a three-year deal with the Bills. He played 12 games last season, catching a modest 22 passes for 303 yards. This was also the first season in which he failed to score a touchdown. Palmer finished the year as the overall WR106 in PPR leagues, setting a new career-worst mark. He also ended up on injured reserve with an ankle injury before the Bills' first playoff game. As much as Buffalo did a good job spreading the ball around this year, Palmer was not a main beneficiary. That's unlikely to change much going forward, given that the Bills don't have many wide receiver free agents. Brandin Cooks and Gabe Davis (knee) will hit the open market, but key pass-catchers like Khalil Shakir, Keon Coleman, and Tyrell Shavers are returning. Plus, we wouldn't be surprised to see the Bills add more wide receiver starpower via the draft or free agency under new head coach Joe Brady. Palmer can be dropped in many dynasty leagues, and he's not a reasonable draft target in redraft formats.

Joshua Palmer Placed on Injured Reserve

The Buffalo Bills announced on Saturday that they placed wide receiver Joshua Palmer (ankle) on Injured Reserve. Palmer will not play in Sunday's Wild-Card playoff tilt against the Jacksonville Jaguars and will not be available for the rest of the postseason if the Bills advance. The 26-year-old did not practice at all this week and will end what has been a disappointing first season in Buffalo in 2025. In 12 games, Palmer caught only 22 of 37 targets for 303 yards and no touchdowns. His absence on Sunday might mean more involvement from the likes of Brandin Cooks, Gabe Davis, and Tyrell Shavers, although all three of the receivers should still be considered deep sleepers in fantasy football playoff formats.

Joshua Palmer Ruled Out for Sunday

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Joshua Palmer (ankle) has been downgraded to out ahead of Sunday's Wild-Card matchup with the Jaguars. Palmer had been unable to practice this week with an ankle injury and will now miss the team's playoff opener. Palmer's 303 receiving yards across 12 regular-season games were good enough for the third-highest total amongst Buffalo wide receivers. In his absence, second-year wideout Keon Coleman will be in line for a larger role following a disappointing sophomore season that saw him benched on multiple occasions. Jacksonville has ranked as a middle-of-the-pack unit in terms of defending the pass, but with no obvious superstars in the Bills' wide receiver room, Josh Allen will again be tasked with putting the offense on his back if Buffalo is to win their first road playoff game since 1992.

Joshua Palmer to be Questionable for Wild-Card Game

Buffalo Bills head coach Sean McDermott said that wide receiver Joshua Palmer (ankle) will not practice on Friday and will be listed as questionable for Wild-Card weekend on Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars, according to Joe Buscaglia of The Athletic. While the Bills are still leaving the door open for Palmer to play this weekend, the fact that he didn't practice all week doesn't bode well for his availability in the playoff opener. The 26-year-old isn't really on the fantasy radar to begin with after catching only 22 passes for 303 yards and no touchdowns on 37 targets in the regular season in his first year with the Bills. He could end up being a game-time decision on Sunday in Jacksonville, but if Palmer is surprisingly active, he probably won't see the field very much, if at all.

Joshua Palmer Not Seen at Thursday's Practice

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Joshua Palmer (ankle) was not seen at the portion of practice open to the media on Thursday, according to Alaina Getzenberg of ESPN. Palmer played over 80 percent of the offensive snaps in the Week 18 regular-season finale against the New York Jets, but he has yet to practice this week and is in danger of missing the Wild-Card tilt this Sunday against the Jacksonville Jaguars. The 26-year-old wideout missed Weeks 13-15 with an ankle injury, but it's unclear if he's dealing with an aggravation of that injury or a new one. Either way, Palmer's status is up in the air for this weekend. He has not been on the fantasy radar all year in his first season in Buffalo, catching just 22 of 37 targets for 303 yards and no touchdowns. If Palmer is inactive against the Jags, it will open more playing time for Brandin Cooks, Gabe Davis, and Tyrell Shavers.

Joshua Palmer Unable to Practice on Wednesday

Buffalo Bills wide receiver Joshua Palmer (ankle) was a non-participant in the team's first practice of the week on Wednesday due to an ankle injury. It's unclear if Palmer aggravated an ankle injury that kept him out in Weeks 13 and 14, but his status is worth watching going into the team's Wild-Card playoff matchup on Sunday against the hosting Jacksonville Jaguars. Even if the 26-year-old ends up being fine to play this weekend, fantasy managers in playoff leagues can ignore him. Palmer finished his first regular season in Buffalo with a career-low 22 receptions on 37 targets for a career-low 303 yards and no touchdowns in 12 games played (eight starts). If Palmer is unable to play in Jacksonville, Brandin Cooks and Tyrell Shavers could see a few more targets behind top wideout Khalil Shakir. Gabe Davis and Keon Coleman could also have slightly bigger roles in the passing game.

Joshua Palmer Best Left Off of Fantasy Playoff Rosters

Buffalo wide receiver Joshua Palmer took 84% of his team's offensive snaps in a Week 18 win over the Jets that saw most of the Bills' starters rested for the playoffs. He caught his only target for one yard, closing out his first season in Buffalo with 303 receiving yards and no touchdowns. In fantasy playoff leagues, he belongs far down the list of wide receivers worth starting. The obvious counterpoint is that a Josh Allen-led offense with no obvious go-to weapons outside of running back James Cook could potentially make an unexpected playoff hero out of anyone on the roster. Still, with so many other sure things in a wide-open playoff field, Palmer can be left off of fantasy rosters.
