Nick Westbrook-Ikhine Not Involved Despite Plenty of Snaps

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine has played a lot of snaps since the injury to Tyreek Hill (knee), but he hasn't turned that into much production. His snap share also dropped a little bit last week against the Bills, even though he still played 47% of snaps, the second-most of any receiver on the team. In that game, Westbrook-Ikhine only had one catch for seven yards and has only had four catches in the last three weeks combined. He's in a favorable matchup early on Sunday morning against the Commanders, but he's not getting enough work to be a regular contributor in most fantasy formats. He's the WR83 in RotoBaller's Week 11 rankings.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine Getting Only a Few Targets Each Week

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine continues to operate as the team's third receiver behind Jaylen Waddle and Malik Washington. He has drawn a total of 11 targets over the last three weeks while playing over 65% of snaps each week. He had two catches for 22 yards against the Ravens in Week 9, which was actually his best yardage production of the season. He hasn't been able to put up big totals in the dink and dunk offense of the Dolphins, and that doesn't seem likely to change in Week 10 against the Bills. He brings a little touchdown-dependent upside, but he's only the No. 70 WR in RotoBaller's rankings, so there are probably better options available in most formats.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine Serving as Dolphins Third Receiver

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine has stepped into a much larger role in the last few weeks since Tyreek Hill (knee) was lost for the season. He played over 60% of snaps in each of the last three weeks, and last week, he finally started to get more involved. He had three catches for 16 yards on four targets last week after only totaling four catches in the first six games of the year. Despite his upward trend, he's in a tough matchup against the Falcons this week, who have allowed the second-fewest fantasy points to receivers this year. Westbrook-Ikhine is only the No. 77 WR in RotoBaller's rankings due to the difficult matchup and Miami's struggling offense, so he shouldn't be started in hardly any formats this week.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine Getting in Plenty of Cardio

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine has seen his snap share spike the last two weeks since the Tyreek Hill (knee) injury, but he has turned in no fantasy production as a result. As the Dolphins face the Browns this week, NWI will look to get involved in the offense after totaling just one catch over the last four weeks. Westbrook-Ikhine has become the team's third receiver over the last two weeks, playing 71% of snaps against the Panthers and 63% of the snaps against the Chargers. However, he has just one target and no catches despite being on the field for 76 plays. He has the potential to contribute since he's getting playing time, but the fact that Tua Tagovailoa doesn't throw the ball his way keeps him well off the fantasy radar this week in Cleveland, where he is the WR86 in RotoBaller's Week 7 rankings.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine Lined Up for Larger Role?

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine has seen his playing time jump since Tyreek Hill (knee) was lost for the season, and the veteran could be more involved this week against the Chargers. Westbrook-Ikhine played about 30% of snaps in Week 2 and Week 3 but saw that number jump to 47% in Week 4 and 71% in Week 5, the first complete game without Hill. While Jaylen Waddle and Malik Washington each got more targets, NWI was the receiver who got the big bump in playing time. Unfortunately, he didn't turn that playing time into any production. He wasn't even targeted despite playing 39 snaps against the Panthers and has been held to only one catch on one target in the last three weeks. He's RotoBaller's WR82, so he's still well off the radar for Week 6 against the Chargers, but his increase in playing time could eventually lead to better results for the free agent addition.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine Moving to a Larger Role

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine will move up the depth chart to the third receiver for his team after Tyreek Hill (knee) was lost for the season. Westbrook-Ikhine signed a two-year, $6.5 million contract with Miami this offseason, and now, he'll have a chance to contribute on a more regular basis. He played a season-high 47% of snaps in Week 4 when Hill was hurt and caught his one target for one yard. For the season, he only has four catches for 26 yards, but he should get many more opportunities going forward. Last year with the Titans, he showed a knack for finding the end zone with nine touchdowns on 32 catches for 497 yards. Miami's offense hasn't been extremely productive this year, but with more work comes the potential that NWI works his way to fantasy relevance. This week's matchup with the Panthers isn't a great one for receivers, though, leaving him as the WR69 in RotoBaller's rankings.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine May Be More Involved

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine has operated as the team's No. 4 receiver so far this season, but he could move up the depth chart for Week 3 against the Bills, depending on the status of Jaylen Waddle (shoulder, questionable). Westbrook-Ikhine could potentially help fill the middle of the field in the absence of Darren Waller (hip) for a third straight week, but so far, his role has been minimal. He played 21 snaps in Week 1 and 16 snaps in Week 2. He was targeted multiple times in both games, finishing with one catch for seven yards in Week 1 and two catches for 18 yards in Week 2. If Waddle is out or limited, Westbrook-Ikhine could be very important for Thursday Night Football DFS contests as a bargain option. He's the WR102 in the RotoBaller Week 3 rankings, though, so he's still a ways from season-long relevance.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine Down the Depth Chart for Dolphins Debut

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine came to Miami this past offseason on a two-year, $6.5 million contract, but he doesn't look like he'll be very involved in Week 1. Westbrook-Ikhine showed a nose for the end zone in his five seasons in Tennessee and had nine touchdowns last year on just 32 catches for 497 yards. He's a big red-zone target that could emerge as a goal-line favorite for Tua Tagovailoa, but he doesn't have a clear path to a role coming into the year. One potential spot he could step into would be to fill in for Darren Waller (hip), since the Dolphins don't have any obvious pass-catching options at tight end. He's a long shot to be involved, though, so Westbrook-Ikhine is the WR99 coming into the week in the RotoBaller rankings, since he's behind at least Tyreek Hill, Jaylen Waddle, and Malik Washington in the Dolphins' receiver room.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine Returns to Practice

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine is back at practice after missing June minicamp due to an undisclosed injury. He had a good day on Friday when he caught a 25-yard pass from quarterback Tua Tagovailoa. It's nice to see the two of them building chemistry together. Westbrook-Ikhine signed a two-year, $5.99 million deal with the Dolphins over the offseason. He hauled in 32 receptions for 497 receiving yards and nine touchdowns in 17 games with the Tennessee Titans last season. He figures to be the third wideout behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle.

Nick Westbrook-Ikhine Working Through Undisclosed Injury

Miami Dolphins wide receiver Nick Westbrook-Ikhine (undisclosed) has been working through an undisclosed injury during the offseason but feels ready to push himself. He said it has been an adjustment learning a new offense and is working to carve out a role behind Tyreek Hill and Jaylen Waddle. It sounds as though the 28-year-old pass-catcher will be ready to roll for training camp this summer. The former undrafted free agent out of Indiana had his best season in the NFL with the Tennessee Titans last year, catching 32 of his 60 targets for 497 yards and nine touchdowns in 17 games (nine starts) in his fifth year in the league. Nobody could really explain Westbrook-Ikhine's outlier season in 2024 in a bad Titans offense after he had 1,276 yards and 10 TDs his first four years. He does have a nose for the end zone and is moving to a better offense, but a repeat of last year is unlikely.
