Jonas Johansson Earns Second Straight Shutout

Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Jonas Johansson notched another shutout on Thursday, shutting down the San Jose Sharks in a 6-0 romp. Johansson had a relatively easy night, stopping all 23 of the shots he faced while his team easily handled the lowly Sharks. The 28-year-old now has a 4-1-2 record with a 2.56 GAA (4.6 GSAA) and .925 SV% in seven games. He is the team's clear number-one goalie until Andrei Vasilevskiy (back) returns from injury, making him a must-roster short-term goalie option.

Jonas Johansson Shuts The Door On Carolina

Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Jonas Johansson celebrated his second career shutout on Tuesday with a 32-save effort against Carolina. The Hurricanes had Sebastian Aho back in the lineup but simply couldn't figure Johansson out as the Swedish netminder backstopped his team to a 3-0 win. Johansson, who is filling in for Andrei Vasilevskiy (back) at the start of the season, will be satisfied with the work he's done thus far for the Lightning. The 28-year-old carries a 3-1-2 record with a 2.99 goals-against average and a .917 save percentage.

Jonas Johansson Earns Victory In Lightning Debut

Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Jonas Johansson was victorious in his debut with the club in Tuesday night's season opener versus the visiting Nashville Predators. The 28-year-old turned aside 28 of 31 shots (.903 save percentage) on the evening as his team supported him nicely in a 5-3 win. Entrusted with the No. 1 goaltending job with the decorated Andrei Vasilevskiy sidelined for the next couple of months, Johansson is a decent speculative fantasy addition between the pipes for the time being as he should earn his fair share of wins. However, he also owns a 3.31 goals-against average and .888 Sv% across 36 career NHL games and won't be any type of fantasy asset when Vasilevskiy returns to game action.

Jonas Johansson Starting For Lightning Tuesday

Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Jonas Johansson has been confirmed as the starter for Tuesday's season opener against Nashville. Tampa's No. 1 Andrei Vasilevskiy (backs) begins the campaign on Injured Reserve, and Johansson will be tasked with holding the fort down in his absence. The 28-year-old did it very well in preseason, posting two shutouts in three appearances. It's a matchup against a team that has lost four of its last five trips to Tampa and scored only 2.71 goals per game last season, so Johansson has a great chance to make a winning debut with the Lightning.

Jonas Johansson Collects Second Preseason Shutout Tuesday

Tampa Bay Lightning goaltender Jonas Johansson notched his second shutout of the preseason on Tuesday night when the Bolts took down the rival Florida Panthers by a 2-0 score. He made 25 saves on the night after blanking the Carolina Hurricanes on Sept. 29 with a 42-save shutout. It's a positive sign for the Lightning as No. 1 netminder Andrei Vasilevskiy will miss at least the next two months after undergoing lower back surgery. However, it's still possible the Lightning make a move to add a goaltender prior to the regular season considering Johansson's career 3.35 goals-against average and .886 save percentage in 35 appearances.

Jonas Johansson Tends Twine Monday In Anaheim

Colorado Avalanche goalie Jonas Johansson earned his first win of the season by stopping 32 of 36 shots, helping the Avalanche secure a victory over the Ottawa Senators in his last outing. In his limited time on the ice this season, the 27-year-old has played well for the Avalanche with a 1-0-0 record, a 2.88 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage in two games. Johansson will go up against the struggling Anaheim Ducks, who are currently on a four-game losing streak following their 6-3 loss to St. Louis on Saturday.

Jonas Johansson Starts For Colorado On Wednesday

Colorado Avalanche goaltender Jonas Johansson will get his fourth start of the campaign in Wednesday's matchup against Toronto. Darcy Kuemper was slated to start the contest, but he has picked up an upper-body injury and won't be available. Johansson is carrying a 2-1-1 record with a 2.92 goals-against average and a .911 save percentage. He's won both of his last two starts, so the Swedish netminder is carrying some momentum, although it's a very difficult matchup for him, as the Maple Leafs have an outstanding 9-3-1 home record and they are 9-1-0 across their last 10 outings.

Jonas Johansson Steady In Colorado Win Saturday

Colorado Avalanche goaltender Jonas Johansson showed on Saturday night that he could be serviceable as a backup. He was steady in net as Johansson stopped 26 of 28 shots in the Avalanche 6-2 home win. The goalie notched his second win in three starts (both quality starts). Also, Johansson provided a clean sheet on the penalty kill as he stopped all four shots faced. Again, he was steady at handling the puck and simply played the position. If Pavel Francouz cannot come back at his previous level, Jared Bednar can play Johansson without anxiety.

Jonas Johansson Goes For Second Win Of Season Saturday

Colorado Avalanche goaltender Jonas Johansson starts on Saturday night against the Nashville Predators. Johansson is 1-1-1 this season with the Avalanche after going 5-1-1 last year as a backup to Philipp Grubauer. The Swedish goalie has struggled a bit with a 3.23 goals-against average and a .905 save percentage. He got the decision against Anaheim after stopping 19 of 20 shots on Wednesday in a little less than 45 minutes of ice time. Nashville will be a bit of a challenge but also come in on the back end of a back-to-back Saturday night.

Jonas Johansson Gets The Nod On Thursday

Colorado Avalanche goaltender Jonas Johansson will get the nod for his season debut in Thursday's meeting with the Panthers. Darcy Kuemper opened the season for Colorado with a 1-2-0 record. Johansson had a miserable time in Buffalo last season but managed to put together a good 5-1-1 record for the Avalanche after coming over via a trade. He posted a 2.06 goals-against average with a .913 save percentage in Colorado and had one shutout. Jared Bednar's team has had a rocky start to the season, but Nathan MacKinnon has missed time due to COVID-19 and Gabriel Landeskog has been sidelined with a suspension. Both are available on Thursday as Colorado looks to get the better of Florida for the sixth time in eight meetings.

Jonas Johansson Finishes Regular Season For Avalanche

Colorado Avalanche goaltender Jonas Johansson will start the team's regular-season finale on Thursday against Los Angeles. It will be his seventh start for the team after coming over from Buffalo via a trade. The 25-year-old has produced a few very impressive outings in his most recent appearances, including a 28-save effort in a 2-0 win over the Ducks, which gave him his first career shutout. Johansson has gone 4-1-1 for Colorado with a 2.23 goals-against average and a .907 save percentage. The Avalanche are huge favorites in the matchup, but there's a fair bit of pressure on Johansson's shoulders here, as the team can pick up the Presidents' Trophy with a win, but they will gift it to Vegas with a loss, so the outcome of the game might not be as straightforward as it looks.

Jonas Johansson Makes Fourth Start Of The Year

Buffalo Sabres goaltender Jonas Johansson will record his fourth start of the season in Tuesday's clash with Philadelphia. The Swedish netminder is winless so far with a 3.93 goals-against average and a .893 save percentage. He's managed only one win in eight career starts, so the former third-round pick has had very little joy in the big league thus far. He likely won't be able to enjoy Tuesday's matchup much either, with his team struggling and Philly looking to get their season back on track after dropping three of their last four outings.
