Mikhail Sergachev News
Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Mikhail Sergachev skated for the first time since suffering a season-ending leg injury on Monday. The 25-year-old suffered his injury in a Feb. 8 contest against the New York Rangers and will not return this season. Sergachev skated in a track suit. "Great to be back on the ice," the Russian said in an Instagram post on Monday. He has tallied two goals and 19 points across 34 games on the season, one year after breaking out with 10 goals and a career-high 64 points across 79 games in the 2022-23 campaign. The Lightning currently sit in the first Wild Card spot in the Eastern Conference with a 36-25-6 record on the season.
Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Mikhail Sergachev suffered a serious leg injury in Wednesday's 3-1 loss to the Rangers. Playing in his first game since Dec. 19, Sergachev hurt his left leg with seven minutes played in the second period. He had to be stretchered off the ice, and Sergachev appeared to be in tears as he exited the game. The full severity of the injury isn't yet known, but it looked bad, and unfortunately, it seems like Sergachev is facing another lengthy absence. He has been limited to 34 outings this season, registering 19 points (two goals, 17 assists).
Tampa Bay Lightning defensemen Mikhail Sergachev (lower body) and Erik Cernak (upper body) are both expected to be back in the lineup when the club visits the New York Rangers on Wednesday night. Sergachev has missed the past 17 games after suffering a lower-body injury in a 6-1 win over the St. Louis Blues on Dec. 19. The 25-year-old has taken a step back offensively this season with two goals and 19 points across 33 games after posting a career-high 64 points across 79 contests last season. He also sports a minus-15 rating on the season. Cernak, 26, has missed the past seven games due to an upper-body injury. The defensive-minded rearguard is without a goal while adding five assists across 39 games this season with 90 hits, 63 blocks, and 23 penalty minutes on his ledger. The Lightning currently sit third in the Atlantic Division coming out of the All-Star break.
Tampa Bay Lightning defenseman Mikhail Sergachev (lower body) won't play on Thursday against the Golden Knights. The Russian blue-liner has to skip a clash against the reigning Stanley Cup champions due to a lower-body injury sustained in the previous game versus St. Louis. He is expected to return after one or two games, so luckily for the Lightning, Sergachev doesn't appear to be dealing with anything too serious. Having averaged nearly 23 minutes of ice time for the season, Mikhail Sergachev plays a massive role on the Lightning blue line and has been effective on both sides of the puck. His work includes 19 points (two goals, 17 assists), 30 hits, and 69 blocks in 33 games this season. Calvin de Haan will take his spot in the lineup on Thursday, with everybody at the back expected to do a bit extra to compensate for Sergachev's absence.
