Tyler Myers Will Play On Tuesday

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers (lower body) will play against Tampa Bay on Tuesday. He saw just 36 seconds of action in the previous game against Philadelphia due to a lower-body injury, but Myers has shaken off the ailment ahead of Tuesday's matchup. The towering blue-liner will skate in his usual spot on the second defensive pairing next to Carson Soucy. It should be a very busy night for Myers against a talented forwards group.

Tyler Myers Injured In Friday's Loss

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers exited Friday's 3-2 shootout loss against Philadelphia with a lower-body injury. He was involved in an awkward collision with Flyers forward Joel Farabee early in the first period and needed help to get off the ice. Myers couldn't put any weight on his right leg. Canucks head coach Rick Tocchet didn't have an update on Myers after the game. The 34-year-old is a big piece of the Canucks defense in more ways than one. Standing at six-foot-eight, Myers is an intimidating figure, but he occasionally helps out the offense as well. He tallied 29 points (five goals, 24 assists) in 77 games last season while racking up 136 blocks and 110 hits. Vincent Desharnais will likely enter the lineup if Myers lands on the shelf for the next game on Tuesday versus Tampa Bay.

Tyler Myers On Track To Return Friday

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers (illness) is expected to return to the lineup for Game 3 against Nashville on Friday. He missed the second game of the series after catching a flu bug. Noah Juulsen came in for Myers on Tuesday and logged 11:24 of ice time on the second defensive pairing. Myers' return will likely push him out of the lineup again. It was a scoreless start to the postseason for Myers in Game 1, but he racked up five hits and three blocks with two shots on goal in 19:08 of action.

Tyler Myers Battling The Flu

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers missed Tuesday's Game 2 against Nashville with the flu. Myers finished the regular season by averaging a point per game across his last five appearances and also performed well in Game 1. He finished as a plus-one for the contest across 19:08 of action, recording two shots, three blocks, and five hits. Noah Juulsen replaced him in the lineup for Game 2. He will likely play again in Friday's Game 3 if Myers can't shake off the flu bug.

Tyler Myers Likely To Return Saturday

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers is likely to return to the lineup for Saturday's contest versus the Washington Capitals. Myers was possibly going to return for Wednesday's game against the Colorado Avalanche but ended up missing his fourth straight game. Myers returned to practice on Tuesday. "It was good to get back out with the guys," Myers said following Tuesday's skate. "It's getting pretty close here, so we'll see in the next day or few days what game it's going to be." The veteran has recorded four goals and 23 points on the season while blocking 114 shots and posting a plus-12 rating. The Canucks enter Saturday's game sitting first in the Pacific Division with a 42-17-8 record, nine points clear of the second-place Oilers.

Tyler Myers Could Return Wednesday

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers (lower body) could return to the lineup for Wednesday's contest against the visiting Colorado Avalanche. The veteran returned to practice on Tuesday after suffering a lower-body injury against the L.A. Kings on Feb. 29 and has missed the past four games. The hulking 6-foot-8 rear guard has recorded four goals and 23 points on the season across 62 games. He has added 86 hits, 114 blocks, and 63 penalty minutes to his resume on the campaign as part of his 18:57 of average ice time per game. The Canucks sit second overall in the NHL with a 42-17-7 record, while the Avs enter Wednesday's contest sporting a 41-20-5 record, good for seventh-best in the league.

Tyler Myers Ruled Out For Two To Four Weeks

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers will miss two to four weeks with a lower-body injury, head coach Bruce Boudreau announced on Friday. The big blue-liner recorded his third 82-game season in 2021-22 but will unfortunately miss some time right from the off in the new campaign. Myers notched only 18 points last season, but he was a major force on the defensive end with 148 blocks and 145 hits, which are both his career-high marks. He produced a solid plus-15 rating, and Quinn Hughes and Oliver Ekman-Larsson were the only skaters on the team to average more ice time than him. The two are set to be even busier with Myers missing.

Tyler Myers Fills Up Stat Sheet In Victory

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers struck for two secondary assists early in the third period to help Vancouver turn a 3-1 deficit into a 3-3 tie. Ultimately, the Canucks would go on to win and Myers wound up playing nearly 30 minutes in a regulation game because of Tucker Poolman's unexpected exit (COVID protocol). Myers had six shots on goal, five scoring chances, three hits, and three blocked shots. The defenseman had been a good filler of fantasy peripheral categories but he took that to another level Tuesday. He now has nine assists in 29 games after snapping out of a one point in 11 games funk.

Tyler Myers Takes Down Oilers

Vancouver Canucks defenseman Tyler Myers produced the game-winning goal in Saturday's 2-1 victory over Edmonton, bagging his fourth marker of the season 9:23 into the third period. Bo Horvat had opened the scoring for Vancouver on a power play. Myers has been an all-around performer in 2020-21 by averaging a career-high 0.45 points per game and adding 59 shots, 43 blocks, and 31 hits. He has a great matchup offensively next as the Canucks head to Ottawa for a two-game set. The Senators allow over four goals per game (4.03) and their goalies carry a horrible .877 save percentage.
