David Peterson Bounces Back Nicely

New York Mets starting pitcher David Peterson was smacked around his last few starts, but looked solid on the mound during Thursday's game against the Milwaukee Brewers. Over his last two starts, Peterson allowed 10 earned runs on 12 hits with six walks, but looked like a different pitcher on Thursday. The southpaw limited the Brewers lineup to one earned run on five hits while striking out four in the win. He'll take a 3.18 ERA, 1.27 WHIP, and 87/37 K/BB ratio across 17 starts into his next outing versus the Baltimore Orioles. Peterson has pitched well enough this season to be trusted as a streaming option for that one.

David Peterson Throws Complete-Game Shutout

New York Mets starting pitcher David Peterson was masterful on Wednesday against the Nationals, striking out nine in a complete-game shutout. He allowed six hits and didn't walk a batter. It looked to be a great matchup going in against a Washington lineup that struggles against lefties, but no one would have predicted a start this good. He induced 13 whiffs on the night, and all five of his pitches each had an individual called strike plus whiff rate of 30 percent or higher. The 29-year-old has yet to allow more than three runs in a start all season long and will carry a 2.49 ERA into his next outing against the Braves.

David Peterson Holds His Own Against Dodgers

New York Mets left-hander David Peterson tossed seven effective innings in a no-decision against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Thursday. The Mets suffered a 6-5 loss, but Peterson allowed just three earned runs on seven hits, struck out six, and walked two to rack up his seventh quality start of 2025. The 29-year-old has been a model of consistency, having given up three or fewer earned runs in all 12 of his starts this season. Thanks in part to a career-best 56.9 ground-ball rate, Peterson has pitched to an appealing 2.80 ERA in 70 2/3 frames. He's slated to start on Wednesday against a middle-of-the-pack Washington Nationals offense.

David Peterson Solid in Longest Start of 2025

New York Mets starting pitcher David Peterson allowed two earned runs and five hits over 7 2/3 innings in his team's 5-2 win over the Los Angeles Dodgers. The veteran walked two and struck out seven to secure his fourth consecutive quality start and third win of 2025 (3-2). Peterson was yet again solid -- as he has been all season -- notching his tenth straight outing with three earned runs or fewer. It hasn't always been efficient, but he was slightly better with walks this time around after surrendering three or more across his last three appearances. The Oregon product will carry a strong 2.79 ERA and (slightly inflated )1.28 WHIP into an enticing start against the visiting Colorado Rockies late next week.

David Peterson Lined Up To Start On Saturday

The New York Mets have left-hander David Peterson (illness) lined up to make his next start this Saturday against the Athletics at Sutter Health Park in Sacramento. Peterson wasn't feeling great in his last start on Sunday against the Toronto Blue Jays, when he allowed an earned run on three hits while walking five and striking out three for a no-decision in 4 2/3 innings of work. The 29-year-old southpaw should be feeling much better by Saturday and will have a great matchup against the A's on the road. Peterson had a quality start and his first win of the season in his first outing of the year on March 31 against the division-rival Miami Marlins, allowing two earned runs on five hits (two solo homers) while walking three and striking out nine. Fantasy managers will be hoping for something similar in his third outing this weekend.

David Peterson Exits Early On Sunday

New York Mets starting pitcher David Peterson (undisclosed) was removed from Sunday's game against the Toronto Blue Jays with a potential injury. The southpaw threw four scoreless innings allowing only two hits. However, Peterson appeared to tweak his back in the fifth inning and that's where it unraveled for him. He walked two batters and hit another batter before Mets manager Carlos Mendoza removed him from the contest. If he's fine, Peterson would be in line to start against the Athletics next week. Fantasy managers should keep an eye out for an update following Sunday's game.

David Peterson Strikes Out Nine In Win Over Marlins

New York Mets left-hander David Peterson picked up the win in a quality start over the Miami Marlins on Monday. Peterson allowed two runs on five hits over six innings while striking out nine and walking three in the win. The veteran lefty looked good in his first start of the season, allowing just a pair of solo homers while punching out nine batters after notching more than eight strikeouts just once across 21 starts in 2024. Peterson will look to keep it going in his next start, which is scheduled for Sunday at home against the Toronto Blue Jays.

David Peterson Set To Start Game 5 For Mets

New York Mets starting pitcher David Peterson will start Game 5 of the NLCS against the Los Angeles Dodgers on Friday. Peterson has pitched four times this postseason and has been limited to three or fewer innings in each of those outings, meaning he will likely be on a very short leash again in a do-or-die game for the Mets. Despite the low innings total, Peterson has been solid in his outings, allowing just two earned runs over 8 IP. He will need to be sharp again on Friday, as he will go up against Jack Flaherty in a must-win situation.

David Peterson Nails Down First Career Save In Important Moment

New York Mets left-handed pitcher David Peterson finished off the Milwaukee Brewers on Thursday, picking up the first save of his career in a 4-2 win in Game 3 of their Wild-Card series. Peterson was tasked with facing the bottom of the Brewers lineup, which included two lefties. After giving up a leadoff single, Peterson induced a strikeout and a double play to finish off the series. It was a gutsy inning for the lefty, who could be in line for a multi-inning role out of the bullpen in the NLDS or could end up making a start. Any way you slice it, Peterson is a terrific weapon to have for the Mets.

David Peterson Shuts Down Brewers In Crucial Win

New York Mets starting pitcher David Peterson was at his best on Sunday, tossing seven shutout frames and earning the win in a 5-0 victory over the Milwaukee Brewers. Peterson allowed just one hit, walked three, and struck out eight in the terrific performance. The 29-year-old finishes the regular season with 10 wins, a 2.90 ERA, 1.29 WHIP, and 101 strikeouts in 121 IP. It was a very solid year for the lefty, and he has a good shot to make the Mets rotation out of Spring Training next year. That said, his season might not even be over. If the Mets can win a game on Monday and get into the playoffs, he could end up pitching in Game 3 of the Wild Card series on short rest.
