Corey Seager Leaves Early On Tuesday With Hamstring Tightness
Texas Rangers shortstop Corey Seager (hamstring) left Tuesday's game early against the division-rival Athletics with right-hamstring tightness. Before leaving, the All-Star shortstop went 1-for-4 at the plate with two runs scored. Josh Smith shifted from center field to shortstop, with Leody Taveras entering the game to play center field. Fantasy managers will be hoping that the Rangers pulled the 30-year-old two-time World Series MVP early as a precaution in an 8-2 ball game, but we won't know more about the severity of Seager's injury until probably Wednesday morning. At the very least, Seager probably won't be in the lineup as the series against the A's continues on Wednesday. If Seager misses extended time, we'd expect Smith to pick up regular playing time at the 6 in Texas. Seager entered Tuesday's contest hitting a strong .288 (21-for-73) with four homers, six RBI and six runs early in the season.

George Klassen Strikes Out Nine In Latest Double-A Start
Los Angeles Angels pitching prospect George Klassen tossed 5 1/3 shutout innings for Double-A Rocket City on Tuesday, allowing three hits and one walk while striking out nine batters. It marked the third consecutive dominant outing from the righty, who yielded just one earned run on 11 hits and three walks while striking out 22 over those three starts (13 1/3 innings). The 6-foot-2 hurler could pitch his way to Triple-A by season's end, but he isn't expected to make his big-league debut until sometime in 2026. Still, with a 34.9 percent strikeout rate in 26 minor-league starts, the Angels' third-ranked prospect is a player dynasty managers should be keeping tabs on.

Marcelo Mayer With Fourth Straight Multi-Hit Effort On Tuesday
Boston Red Sox infield prospect Marcelo Mayer went 2-for-4 with a double and a home run on Tuesday for Triple-A Worcester, collecting two RBI and one run scored in the process. It was the fourth consecutive multi-hit performance for the left-handed slugger, who also has tallied a whopping 14 RBI over that span. The 22-year-old is now slashing .247/.284/.468 on the young season, with five home runs and a stolen base. The former first-round draft pick is expected to make his big league debut at some point this year, but with Trevor Story, Alex Bregman, and Kristian Campbell each hitting no less than .297, right now there is no path to playing time unless Boston wanted to get him some reps at first base (Tristan Casas is hitting just .158 with one home run thus far). Regardless of exactly when it happens, if it looks like his arrival is getting closer, fantasy managers in redraft leagues should consider stashing him away before his call up.

Bailey Falter Leaves Outing On Tuesday With Back Tightness
Pittsburgh Pirates left-hander Bailey Falter (back) was removed from his start early on Tuesday against the hosting Los Angeles Angels due to lower-back tightness, according to the team. Falter is currently being treated by the team's medical staff, and the Pirates will provide an update on his condition when new information becomes available. Before departing the contest in Anaheim, Falter had allowed three earned runs on five hits (one homer) while walking none and striking out five in four innings (65 pitches). It's anyone's guess as to whether the 27-year-old southpaw will be able to make his next scheduled start on Sunday against the Los Angeles Dodgers. Even if Falter's injury is minor and he's able to toe the rubber this weekend, fantasy managers will want to avoid him in that matchup. He has been inconsistent so far in 2025 and entered Tuesday's outing with a 4.91 ERA and 1.18 WHIP in his four starts.

Leodalis De Vries Hits For Cycle, Collects Eight RBI On Tuesday
San Diego Padres infield prospect Leodalis De Vries had a monster day at the plate for High-A Fort Wayne on Tuesday, completing the cycle in a 5-for-5 performance. The 18-year-old collected a single, a double, a triple, and two home runs to go along with eight RBI and two runs scored. The effort pushed his season slash line to .294/.351/.608 through 13 games. The Padres' top prospect (MLB No. 17) held his own as a 17-year-old at Single-A last season and now appears to be doing the same at High-A. If he continues to hit, expect to see him test his mettle at Double-A by season's end, although it may be a couple of years before he sees the majors. Nevertheless, still so young and with so much potential, dynasty managers should be keeping a close eye on the switch-hitter's progression.

Jeferson Quero To Resume Baseball Activities
Milwaukee Brewers catching prospect Jeferson Quero (hamstring, shoulder) has resumed baseball activities as he continues his return from multiple injuries. The Venezuelan backstop made one plate appearance last season before going down with a shoulder injury that required surgery, then suffered a hamstring injury in spring training this year. Whenever the 22-year-old gets back in the lineup, it is expected to be with Triple-A Nashville, but the Brewers' top prospect (MLB No. 44) should make his major-league debut at some point later this year. However, after missing so much time and with William Contreras locked in at catcher, there is no need to rush it. With a 16-homer campaign under his belt in just 90 games in 2023, there is some pop in his bat, so fantasy managers needing catcher help will want to monitor his progression, although he is known more for his work behind the plate than his offense.

Roman Anthony Dealing With Shoulder Soreness
Boston Red Sox outfield prospect Roman Anthony has reportedly been dealing with soreness in his right shoulder, which has limited Boston's top prospect (MLB No. 2) to designated hitter duties since April 11. Perhaps this has conveniently helped him focus on hitting after starting the year 6-for-34 (.176) through April 10, as the left-handed slugger has gone 14-for-34 (.412) since April 11. With a .286/.419/.543 slash line through the first 19 games, the 20-year-old is on the precipice of making his MLB debut, although the Sox will likely want to make sure he's fully healthy before bringing him up. Right fielder Wilyer Abreu has cooled significantly after his hot start, so the call may come sooner rather than later. As one of the game's top prospects and best hitters in the minors, fantasy managers in need of an offensive boost in the coming weeks should consider stashing Anthony ahead of his call-up, especially in leagues that have an NA roster spot available.

Nick Pivetta Throws Seven Scoreless Innings
San Diego Padres starting pitcher Nick Pivetta pitched seven shutout innings in a 2-0 win over the Tigers on Tuesday. He allowed two hits and two walks while striking out six. This was his third straight quality start and his fourth of the season. Outside of a rough start on April 5 against the Cubs when he gave up three runs in three innings, he's pitched like an ace. In his four other starts, he's allowed just one run in 27 innings with 26 strikeouts compared to only four walks. He'll look to continue his breakout year in his next start, which is currently lined up to be against the Giants.

Brandon Marsh Nearing Rehab Assignment
Philadelphia Phillies outfielder Brandon Marsh (hamstring) ran the bases on Tuesday and feels back to 100 percent. He'll have a rest day on Wednesday and will likely begin a minor-league rehab assignment on Thursday, according to manager Rob Thomson. This is a quick turnaround for the 27-year-old, as he was only officially placed on the 10-day injured list two days ago. It was retroactive to April 17, meaning he would be eligible to return this weekend if his rehab goes well. Hopefully this extended break will help him snap out of his early-season slump, as he's batting just .095 so far through 17 games.

Washington Nationals starting pitcher Mitchell Parker shut out the Orioles over eight innings on Tuesday in a 7-0 victory, allowing just one hit and two walks while striking out four. He has been as solid as they come to begin 2025, as this was his fifth straight quality start. He's allowed one run or less in four of his five appearances, and his ERA is now down to a minuscule 1.39 on the year. He still doesn't offer much strikeout upside with only 20 through 32 innings, but he's pitching too well right now to leave on fantasy waiver wires.

Chicago Cubs starting pitcher Javier Assad (oblique) left his rehab start early on Tuesday after grabbing at his side while warming up for the fifth inning. This certainly isn't good news for the right-hander, especially since it appears like a re-aggravation of the oblique injury that he is rehabbing. There should be more updates after he is evaluated further, but it looks like he will have to wait even longer before making his return to the major league roster.

Minnesota Twins starting pitcher Pablo Lopez (hamstring) is nearing a return to the major league rotation. He made a successful rehab start on Saturday, allowing one run on three hits with four strikeouts over 4 innings and 63 pitches. He threw a bullpen session on Tuesday and is happy with where everything is at. There is no official word yet on which day he will make his first start back, but he is eligible to be activated from the injured list on Thursday. He'll look to pick up where he left off before the injury, as he posted a 1.62 ERA and 1.02 WHIP in his first three starts of the year.

Luis Rengifo Out After Having Root Canal
Los Angeles Angels infielder Luis Rengifo (mouth) is out of Tuesday's starting lineup against the visiting Pittsburgh Pirates after having a root canal on Monday, according to manager Ron Washington. Rengifo was cleared to play, but Washington wanted Kevin Newman to get a chance to play against Pirates left-hander Bailey Falter, who he has gone 5-for-11 against in his career. Newman is starting at third base and is batting in the nine-hole for the Halos, though, so he will still be a poor choice for DFS lineups with little fantasy upside. Fantasy managers should expect Rengifo to return to the Angels' starting lineup at third base on Wednesday. The 28-year-old Venezuelan infielder has gotten off to a slow start offensively in 2025, going 17-for-78 (.218) with a homer, seven RBI, no steals and eight runs scored in his first 21 games played.

Tyler Matzek Joins Big-League Roster
The New York Yankees announced on Tuesday that they signed left-hander Tyler Matzek to a major-league contract and selected him to their active roster and designated right-hander Yoendrys Gomez for assignment in a corresponding move. The Yankees signed Matzek to a minor-league deal back in February, but now he'll join their big-league bullpen for the time being. The 34-year-old veteran southpaw began the season in the minors due to an oblique injury that he suffered in spring training in March, but now he's past the issue and will provide New York with a lefty arm out of their 'pen. In 5 2/3 relief innings for Single-A Tampa and Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre this year, he gave up two earned runs while walking two and striking out seven. Matzek has a 3.72 career ERA, 1.36 WHIP and just one save in his six major-league seasons.

Chandler Simpson Back In Leadoff Spot On Tuesday
Tampa Bay Rays outfield prospect Chandler Simpson is starting in center field and is hitting leadoff on Tuesday against the hosting Arizona Diamondbacks and right-hander Brandon Pfaadt. The Rays' No. 7 prospect, per MLB Pipeline, was called up from the minors to make his major-league debut on Saturday against the New York Yankees, and he's gone 2-for-8 with a double, RBI, stolen base, run scored and a strikeout in his first two games. This will be the second time in his first three MLB games that the 24-year-old speedster will hit leadoff for Tampa. Simpson isn't going to provide much pop for fantasy managers -- he had only one extra-base hit in his first 78 plate appearances at Triple-A Durham before his promotion -- but he's worth rostering in deeper formats for his speed, especially if he sticks in the leadoff spot and sees regular playing time.

Wade Miley Starting His Rehab Assignment On Tuesday
Cincinnati Reds left-hander Wade Miley (elbow) is starting his minor-league rehab assignment on Tuesday night with High-A Dayton, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer's Charlie Goldsmith. Miley continues his recovery from an internal-brace procedure/Tommy John surgery last May and still has a long ways to go before he's considered an option for the Reds' major-league starting rotation. Even if the 38-year-old veteran soft-tosser makes it back to the big leagues in the first half of the 2025 season, he's not going to present fantasy managers with much upside, if any at all, in the strikeout department. Those in mixed leagues should have more attractive options to choose from. Miley only made two starts for the Milwaukee Brewers before being shut down in 2024 and has a career 7.0 K/9 in 14 MLB seasons.

Sam Moll Starting Rehab Assignment On Tuesday
Cincinnati Reds left-handed reliever Sam Moll (shoulder) is starting his minor-league rehab assignment on Tuesday with Triple-A Louisville, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer's Gordon Wittenmyer. Moll is working his way back since landing on the injured list in the middle of April due to an impingement in his left shoulder, but he's getting closer to making a return to Cincinnati's bullpen. The 33-year-old veteran southpaw isn't a fantasy asset, though, especially after a rough start to his 2025 campaign with four earned runs allowed in two innings pitched as well as three walks and one strikeout. When he's activated from the injured list, Moll will operate in a middle-relief role. In his six seasons in the majors, he has a 3.60 ERA, 1.28 WHIP, one save and a 168:77 K:BB in 162 1/3 innings pitched.

Tyler Stephenson Starting Rehab Assignment On Tuesday
Cincinnati Reds catcher Tyler Stephenson (oblique) is starting his minor-league rehab assignment with Triple-A Louisville on Tuesday, according to The Cincinnati Enquirer's Gordon Wittenmyer. Stephenson worked out with Louisville over the weekend and is now ready to return to game action this week. The 28-year-old backstop hasn't played in a game since spring training in mid-March and opened the year on the 10-day injured list, so the Reds won't rush him back. In the meantime, veteran Jose Trevino will continue to operate as Cincy's primary catcher at the major-league level, with Austin Wynns backing him up. Although he has yet to make is 2025 debut, Stephenson is worth stashing in all fantasy leagues as one of the better power-hitting catchers in the league when he's healthy. He had a career-high 19 long balls and drove in 66 runs in 138 games in 2024.

Marcus Semien Dropped To Five-Hole On Tuesday
Texas Rangers second baseman Marcus Semien is being dropped to fifth in the batting order for Tuesday's contest against the hosting Athletics and right-hander Osvaldo Bido. It's the first time that Semien has hit lower than third in the lineup since joining the Rangers back in 2022, and it comes with Semien entering Tuesday's tilt with a .141/.209/.192 slash line, only one home run, six RBI and five runs scored in his first 78 at-bats of the 2025 season. The good news, though, is that he has recorded a hit in four of his last five games. With the 34-year-old veteran moving down the batting order temporarily, utility man Josh Smith will start in center field and bat leadoff for a Rangers offense that is looking to shake things up. Fantasy managers can only hope the drop in the batting order can get Semien going. He has a hit in just two career at-bats against Bido.
