With Breakout Season at Double-A, has Franklin Arias Become a Stash Target?

Boston Red Sox shortstop prospect Franklin Arias isn't slowing down at Double-A Portland, currently riding a five-game hitting streak, during which time he's gone 10-for-24 (.417) with a double, a triple, and four home runs. Boston's top-ranked prospect is hitting .343 on the year with 12 home runs and four steals, while his 1.079 OPS is third-highest in the minors out of hitters with at least 150 at-bats. The right-handed hitter is walking at a solid 9.1 percent clip, while maintaining a low strikeout rate of 12.8 percent. There doesn't appear to be much left to prove at this level, and a ticket to Triple-A should be coming in the near future. If he can continue to mash at Triple-A, the Venezuelan could see time in Boston later this year despite being just 20 years old, especially with the team thin at short as Trevor Story (hernia) is expected to miss anywhere from six to 10 weeks. Arias isn't necessarily a stash option at the moment in redraft leagues, but that could quickly change, so fantasy managers should monitor his progress.

Franklin Arias Extends Power Surge, Remains in Play for Late-Season Debut?

Boston Red Sox top infield prospect Franklin Arias continues to showcase elite upside at the Double-A level and remains in play for a late-season MLB debut. Through his first 36 games with Double-A Portland this season, the team's No. 1-ranked prospect per MLB.com has posted a dominant .346/.422/.662 slash line with a dominant 1.084 OPS. During this stretch, the infielder has launched 11 home runs, swiped four bags, while carrying a 19:15 K:BB. Over his last three games, Arias has launched three of these long balls. Given his incredible start to the campaign, the top prospect remains in serious contention not only to reach Triple-A in the coming weeks but also to debut in the big leagues in the second half. If he maintains this pace, he will find himself near the top of most stash lists in the coming months.

Franklin Arias Off to a Hot Start, the Next Big-Name Boston Prospect to Debut?

Boston Red Sox infield prospect Franklin Arias is off to a scorching start at Double-A Portland, producing four multi-hit performances in his first six games, going 10-for-17 (.588) with two doubles and a 2:2 BB:K. He has even been hit by a pitch twice, giving him a remarkable .636 on-base percentage. Boston's second-ranked prospect earned two promotions last year, finishing the season with a 10-game stint at Double-A, and tallying a .278/.335/.388 slash line overall with eight home runs, 12 steals, and a low 10.1 percent strikeout rate in 116 games. The 20-year-old is a hit-over-power prospect and doesn't have a ton of speed, but could grow into a 15-ish home run player and can be an opportunistic base-stealer who should see time at Triple-A in the coming months. The right-handed slugger's ability to put the bat on the ball could earn him a big league debut late in the season, especially on his current trajectory, and could be worthy of consideration for a roster spot in deeper leagues whenever he gets that call.

Franklin Arias Quickly Progressing in Boston's System

Boston Red Sox top prospect Franklin Arias quickly progressed through the lower levels of the system in 2025 and is nearing his MLB debut. The shortstop, who is considered the team's top prospect on MLB.com and the overall No. 24 in the sport, began the 2025 season with Low-A but reached Double-A Portland in the second half. With Low-A, Arias held a .346/.407/.397 line across a short 19-game stint. He would spend most of his season with High-A Greenville, where he posted a .265/.329/.380 slash line with 21 doubles, six home runs, and seven stolen bases. He finished the season, posting a modest .685 OPS during his first 10 games at Double-A. Managers should expect Arias to open the season at Double-A and be in contention for a second-half promotion to Triple-A.

Franklin Arias Promoted to Double-A Portland

Boston Red Sox infield prospect Franklin Arias was promoted to Double-A Portland on Tuesday. Boston's top-ranked prospect (MLB No. 23) produced solid numbers between Single-A and High-A, slashing .279/.343/.383 in 106 games, and although he drew walks at just a 7.9 percent rate, he struck out at a minuscule 9.8 percent rate. The Venezuelan is now one of the youngest players at Double-A, joining just a handful of other 19-year-olds at that level, with his age making the youngster's other accomplishments all the more impressive. The right-handed slugger even doubled in his Double-A Portland debut, and should be stashed away in dynasty leagues.

Franklin Arias Enjoying Solid Debut Season at High-A

Boston Red Sox shortstop prospect Franklin Arias has enjoyed a solid debut campaign at High-A. The 19-year-old began the season at the Low-A level but needed only 19 games with Slem to prove he was ready to join Greenville. Through his first 85 games at the High-A level, the top-ranked prospect in the Boston system has looked relatively comfortable, posting a .265/.327/.383 line with 21 doubles, six home runs, and seven stolen bases. Over his last 13 contests, the No. 33-ranked prospect in the sport (according to MLB.com), has posted a .757 OPS and has only gone hitless three times over this stretch. While he remains several seasons away from his MLB debut, Arias is a name to keep a close eye on as he continues to progress through the Boston system.

Franklin Arias Collects Four Hits in Doubleheader on Wednesday

Boston Red Sox infield prospect Franklin Arias enjoyed a 4-for-7 day at the plate in High-A Greenville's doubleheader on Wednesday, which included a double and three RBI. The right-handed hitter played 19 games this season at Single-A, and his .346/.407/.397 slash line earned him a promotion to High-A. Rather than finding himself overmatched, the 19-year-old has posted a .320/.378/.467 slash line through 18 games at that level, hitting his first two home runs of 2025 there and seeing a reduced strikeout rate from 14.0 percent to 9.8 percent. Boston's third-ranked prospect gets rave reviews for his glove work, and with speed that helped him to 35 steals in 2024, the 5-foot-11 Venezuelan is a well-rounded prospect. However, Arias is still a couple of years away from the majors, so interested fantasy managers need only to monitor his progression for now.

Franklin Arias Promoted To High-A

The Boston Red Sox are promoting infield prospect Franklin Arias to High-A Greenville. Arias joined the Red Sox organization in 2023 and is already quickly climbing the prospect ranks. Through the early part of the campaign, Arias enjoyed a strong start with Low-A, holding a .346/.407/.397 slash line with four doubles and four stolen bases. Last season, Arias spent most of his time at the Rookie level before earning a brief taste of Low-A. Across both levels, he held a .309/.409/.487 slash line with 25 doubles, nine home runs, and 35 stolen bases. Fantasy managers should monitor the 19-year-old's progression at High-A as he is climbing prospect boards. He currently sits as the No. 4-ranked in the Boston system and the No. 73-overall in the sport on MLB Pipeline.
