James Tibbs III Goes 4-for-4 With Two Homers on Wednesday

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III had a day to remember, as he went 4-for-4 with two home runs and four RBI against Double-A Corpus Christi. The lefty outfielder has been involved in two trades this season, with the first being the Rafael Devers deal, and he recently dealt to Los Angeles in the Dustin May deal at the July 31 deadline. He is making a strong first impression with his new team in the early going. Tibbs began the year at High-A with the Giants and has been moved to Double-A with his new clubs and is slashing .237/.363/.417 with 15 homers and five steals across the two levels. He projects as a strong-side platoon bat in the future by scouts and is in a favorable player development system with the Dodgers.

James Tibbs III Traded to Los Angeles

The Los Angeles Dodgers have acquired outfield prospect James Tibbs III and Zach Ehrhard from the Boston Red Sox in exchange for right-handed pitcher Dustin May. Despite only being drafted with the 13th overall pick in last year's MLB Draft, Tibbs has already been included in two trades this season. Earlier in the summer, Tibbs was one of the pieces that San Francisco sent to Boston in exchange for third baseman Rafael Devers. Now, Tibbs will move to his third MLB team. The Florida State product was ranked as the No. 5 prospect in the system before the trade. He opened the season with High-A but was moved to Double-A once acquired by Boston. Through 30 games with Double-A Portland, Tibbs has held a .207/.319/.267 line. Fantasy managers should expect Tibbs to remain with Double-A through the remainder of the second half.

James Tibbs III Performing Well at Double-A

Boston Red Sox outfield prospect James Tibbs III has been performing quite well during his first taste of Double-A action. On Thursday, Tibbs posted his first two-hit game at the level. During their game against Akron, Tibbs went 2-for-4 at the plate with a double, two RBI, and a walk. Through three games with Double-A Portland, Tibbs has gone 3-for-11 (.273) and held a .385 OBP. Tibbs was the top prospect included in the package that sent third baseman Rafael Devers to San Francisco. Tibbs began the season with San Francisco's High-A affiliate. Across 57 games, the former 13th overall pick posted a .246/.379/.478 line with 10 doubles, 12 home runs, three stolen bases, and an impressive 45:42 K:BB. The 22-year-old will likely spend the remainder of the season at the Double-A level.

James Tibbs III Traded to Boston, Reporting to Double-A

The Boston Red Sox acquired outfield prospect James Tibbs III from the San Francisco Giants in a package that sent third baseman Rafael Devers to the Giants. While Tibbs has spent the entire campaign at the High-A level with San Francisco, the Red Sox are reportedly moving the outfield to Double-A Portland. Tibbs was considered the No. 4 prospect in the San Francisco system prior to the trade. He was selected with the 13th overall pick in the 2024 MLB Draft out of Florida State. Through 57 games with High-A Eugene this season, Tibbs posted a solid .246/.379/.478 slash line with 10 doubles, 12 home runs, three stolen bases, and a 45:42 K:BB. Last summer, Tibbs held a low .134/.216/.239 line during his first taste of High-A action. Fantasy managers should expect Tibbs to spend most of the remaining season with Double-A.
