James Tibbs III Hopes Triple-A Success Translates to Big-League Shot

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III has had a monster season at Triple-A Oklahoma City with 24 homers, 89 RBI, and 90 runs scored while hitting .297. Tibbs is hitting .365 in August with three home runs and 14 RBI to continue his strong season. The left-handed hitter is the No. 7 prospect in the Dodgers system and is looking for a late-season promotion. The 23-year-old has a 50-grade hit tool with 55-grade power and has been a menace at the plate all season long at the Triple-A level. He has proven he is ready for a big-league chance, and with the Dodgers all of a sudden struggling, they could turn to the young outfielder for a spark. Fantasy managers will want to monitor how the Dodgers plan on using Tibbs the rest of the season because he has the tools to be successful in the majors even at age 23.

Will Another Productive Stretch Push James Tibbs III to MLB Debut?

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III has been hitting the ball well after a late-July swoon, hitting safely in 12 of his last 14 games, going 20-for-57 (.351) over that stretch with five doubles, a triple, a home run, three steals, and an impressive 12:13 BB:K. The home run broke a 29-game drought without a round-tripper, and the three steals are nearly half of his season total, which now stands at seven. The recent surge has brought his 2026 slash line to .294/.417/.537 with 22 home runs, and his 84 RBI and 88 runs scored are both top-five totals at Triple-A. It has been a very productive season for the Dodgers' seventh-ranked prospect, but there simply has been no room for him on the major league roster to enable a major league debut, and that remains the case today. With other options who are already on the 40-man roster in Oklahoma City that can play outfield (i.e., Ryan Ward, Alek Thomas, Hyeseong Kim), Tibbs' hopes of a 2026 debut have dimmed considerably. Consider him a speculative stash with upside if he found his way to at-bats in Los Angeles.

James Tibbs III Looking To Break Through For MLB Opportunity

In eight August games, Los Angeles Dodgers first base/outfield prospect James Tibbs III has eight RBI while going 12-for-31 (.387) at the plate at Triple-A Oklahoma City. The 23-year-old has produced in a big way for Oklahoma City this season with 22 homers and 83 RBI to go with a .295 batting average and 88 runs scored. The left-handed hitter can play first base or in the outfield but has had a tough time making it up to the Dodgers for a big-league debut. The Dodgers are obviously loaded at the MLB level, but could turn to Tibbs III for a spark as he has done nothing but produce all year long. He's the No. 7 prospect in the Dodgers system and has a 50-grade hit tool with 50-grade power. He makes for a decent stash in mid to deep leagues with the shot he breaks through and gets an MLB debut this year.

James Tibbs III Still Producing, but Hopes for 2026 Debut Fading

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III is still putting up good numbers at Triple-A Oklahoma City, going 7-for-20 (.350) over his last five games, with two doubles, a triple, one steal, and a 3:3 BB:K. The Dodgers' ninth-ranked prospect's slash line now stands at .288/.409/.539, with the strong on-base percentage anchored by a 16.4 percent walk rate. Though the left-handed hitter has 21 home runs and continues to hit for extra bases, he's now gone 24 games without a home run. Still, the strong hitting and keen eye are things that should help get him to the majors this season, although it may be just for a late-season cup of coffee unless one of the regulars were to go down with injury before then. There is fantasy appeal here with the power and the potent lineup he'd be hitting if he got the call, but the 23-year-old isn't on the 40-man roster, and with plenty of other outfield competition for at-bats in the minors, there isn't much need to stash the former first-rounder outside of very deep leagues with multiple NA spots.

James Tibbs III Has Cooled Off Over Past Two Months

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III has slowed down recently after a hot start to the season. Tibbs III has been at Triple-A Oklahoma City the whole year and has hit .209 in June and .254 in July after starting the season by hitting .326 in May. He has still shown nice power throughout the season with 21 homers and 73 RBI with 77 runs scored. Altogether, he is still hitting .283 so his batting average hasn't come down all that much even with the rough past two months. Tibbs III is the No. 9 prospect in the Dodgers' system and has a 50-grade hit tool with 50-grade power. The left-handed hitter is now 23 years old. Originally a first-round pick by the San Francisco Giants out of Florida State, Tibbs III has already spent time in the Red Sox organization before coming over to the Dodgers. Tibbs III's recent slide could mean that he doesn't debut until next season, so fantasy managers will want to keep an eye on his progress.

James Tibbs III Continues to Make Case for MLB Debut

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III continues to produce while biding his time at Triple-A Oklahoma City in wait of an MLB call-up. The Dodgers' ninth-ranked prospect is 9-for-22 (.409) over his last seven games, including a pair of doubles and a 3:2 BB:K. The former first-round draft pick has put together a solid overall campaign, slashing .289/.408/.549 with 21 home runs and a 16.3 percent walk rate, with the second-most RBI (72) and runs scored (75) in the Pacific Coast League. He's gone an uncharacteristic 15 games without a home run, but with average exit velocity, barrel, and hard-hit rates all in the 90th percentile or better, his 22nd round-tripper of the year shouldn't be far off. On any other team, the left-handed hitter likely would have debuted by now, but with a healthy big league outfield and a glut of talented outfield options in the minors who are already on the 40-man roster, Tibbs' debut will have to wait. Still, the 23-year-old is one of the better stash options out there with the bat and the surrounding cast to be productive whenever he gets the call.

James Tibbs III Could be Ready for Big-League Call-Up

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III has been a part of two trades already in his career and is primed to contribute to his newest team, the Dodgers. Tibbs is producing in a big way for Triple-A Oklahoma City with 21 and 72 RBI, a .290 batting average to go with 74 runs scored. A former first-round pick by the San Francisco Giants, Tibbs is now the No. 9 prospect in the Dodgers' system. The 23-year-old left-handed hitter is delivering at a rate beyond his prospect pedigree and could be ready for a spot in the Dodgers' outfield right now. The Dodgers have no shortage of big-league-ready talent in the outfield, but Tibbs could be a sneaky addition to fantasy rosters. His Pacific Coast League numbers suggest he is ready for his big-league debut and could contribute in fantasy if given the opportunity.

James Tibbs III Reinforces Stash Status Before Break

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III capped off a highly productive first half with a mini three-game hit streak in which he went 6-for-12 (.500), including a double and a stolen base. Notably, the Dodgers' ninth-ranked prospect also showed great improvement in his strikeout rate as of late, recording just three strikeouts over his last seven games across 27 plate appearances, which was only an 11.1 percent rate compared to a 26.1 percent rate before that. The left-handed hitter heads into the break with a strong .289/.406/.553 slash line with 21 home runs and a 16.3 percent walk rate, while his 74 runs scored and 71 RBI both rank second at Triple-A so far this year. A debut in the majors is starting to feel overdue, though it still may take an injury or trade to make it happen. Either way, look for a debut sometime in the second half, and given how productive he's been, if the former first-rounder were hitting anywhere in the potent L.A. lineup, he'd be a viable fantasy asset in deeper leagues, so managers with an NA spot should consider stashing the 23-year-old ahead of an eventual call-up.

James Tibbs III Falling Off Stash Radar Amid Lengthy Triple-A Skid

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III has seen his production dip at Triple-A Oklahoma City and is falling off the stash radar as the All-Star break approaches. Over his last 17 contests at Triple-A, the 23-year-old has posted an underwhelming .220/.360/.322 line with a low .622 OPS. During this stretch, Tibbs hit just one home run. However, over his first 69 Triple-A contests, Tibbs was among the highest-performing hitters at the level. During this part of the early season, the No. 96-ranked prospect on MLB.com, Tibbs, has carried a much higher .297/.412/.602 line, 20 home runs, and a 1.014 OPS. While this recent skid has pushed him off the stash radar, those in deeper 15-team leagues should continue to monitor his progress, as he could still play a role in the majors down the stretch.

Is James Tibbs III Worth Stashing Amid Slowdown at Triple-A?

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III has cooled over the past week, going just 3-for-19 (.158) over the last six games at Triple-A Oklahoma City. It has been a season of ebbs and flows for the Dodgers' ninth-ranked prospect, so this could be the calm before the red-hot resurgence. For the season, the left-handed slugger is hitting a solid .286 despite a 25.4 percent strikeout rate, and has recorded a strong .406 on-base percentage thanks to a 16.8 percent walk rate (88th percentile) with a .385 xwOBA (94th percentile). There is plenty of power, as evidenced by average exit velocity, barrel, and hard-hit rates that register 91st percentile or better, which has resulted in 42 extra-base hits (21 home runs) and 70 RBI through 83 games. It seems he's done enough to earn a debut this season, and that could come in the next month or so. With the potential to be hitting in the league's second-best run-producing offense (5.34 runs/game), the 23-year-old should be viewed as a solid stash option in deeper 12-team leagues.
