James Tibbs III Slugging His Way to Major-League Promotion

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III has been among the top power hitters at the Triple-A level this season and is making a strong case to join the MLB roster in the immediate future. On Thursday, Tibbs launched his 20th long ball of the campaign when he went 1-for-5 against Sacramento. Through 69 total games with Oklahoma City this season, the 23-year-old has held a .297/.413/.602 line with a dominant 1.015 OPS. This is even more impressive as Tibbs did not log a single bat at the Triple-A level prior to the 2026 campaign. Currently, the Dodgers have turned to fellow prospect Ryan Ward to replace the injured Teoscar Hernandez on the MLB roster. However, given Tibbs' current play and much higher upside, they could turn to the Florida State product to add a spark to their lineup. His path to at-bats and elite raw power upside makes him a top stash target among hitting prospects.

Is James Tibbs III Nearing an MLB Debut?

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III reached base six times between Saturday and Sunday, thanks to two hits (double, home run) and four walks (zero strikeouts). The Dodgers' 10th-ranked prospect hasn't had a multi-hit performance through 12 games in June, but has still recorded a robust .400 OBP thanks to a 21.8 percent walk rate this month. For the season, the left-handed slugger is slashing .307/.422/.614 and is among the Triple-A leaders in home runs (19, first), runs (62, first), RBI (59, third), and walks (49, second). He's also among the leaders in strikeouts (79, seventh), but given his ability to still hit for average, hit for power, and get on base, the high strikeout rate is something that can be tolerated. Unfortunately, he is not on the 40-man roster, and there are no current openings on the major league squad with recently-promoted Ryan Ward doing enough at the plate to hold off Tibbs for now. Nevertheless, Tibbs should debut in the coming weeks, and with his offensive prowess, the 23-year-old is worthy of stashing in most leagues as he'll be able to show off his skills while hitting in a potent Dodger lineup whenever he gets the call.

James Tibbs III Still a Top Stash Among Fantasy Baseball Prospects

Los Angeles Dodgers outfielder James Tibbs III continues to put together a phenomenal season. His video game numbers would be worthy of a call-up in the other 29 organizations, but the Dodgers' depth in the majors has allowed them to be patient with his development and leave him in Triple-A for now. Sooner rather than later, though, he'll force their hand and become an immediate contributor in the majors. At Triple-A this year, he's slashing .310/.420/.612 with a whopping 18 home runs, a 15.4% walk rate, and a 26.3% strikeout rate. Although he's chasing a little more than we'd like (21.91% chase rate), we can't ignore the fact that he has either walked or homered in 21.5% of his plate appearances. Tibbs projects as a mid-summer call-up, and there will inevitably be a mad scramble to pick him up off waivers when that happens. Wise fantasy managers should get ahead of the rush and stash him now, before it's too late. We've already seen a small surge in the hype for Tibbs, as his fantasy roster share has reached 3%.

James Tibbs III Continues to Make Case for a Call-Up, but When Will That Be?

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III reached base three times in his latest contest, collecting a hit and two walks, which is what he's done for most of the season. The Dodgers' 10th-ranked prospect is hitting .313 with a phenomenal .424 on-base percentage thanks to a strong 15.6 percent walk rate. Not only that, the former first-rounder has clubbed 16 doubles, two triples, and 18 home runs en route to a .621 slugging percentage, which is seventh-best in all the minors for players with at least 200 plate appearances, while his 60 runs scored and 55 RBI are both top 10 totals. The 23-year-old has done enough to earn a promotion to the big leagues, he just needs a spot to open up on the major league roster, and then he should get his shot. Look for that to happen in the coming weeks, and with his powerful bat in the second-best run-producing lineup in baseball (5.37 runs/game), there's good reason to stash the left-handed slugger in most fantasy leagues.

James Tibbs III Knocking on MLB Door During Power Binge

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III continues to showcase his elite raw power at the top club in the minor leagues and enters Week 11 toward the top of the stash rankings. Over his last 12 contests at Triple-A Oklahoma City, the outfielder has launched an impressive seven home runs while carrying a .333/.434/.822 line with a 1.256 OPS. Overall, Tibbs has looked just as dominant over the course of the opening months of the campaign, posting a .313/.421/.631 line with 16 doubles, 18 home runs, and three stolen bases (over 60 games). While the Dodgers outfield was crowded to begin the season, Tibbs has a path to at-bats with Teoscar Hernandez on the shelf. While the team turned to Ryan Ward first, Tibbs' power binge could push their hand, making him a priority waiver wire target in 12+ team leagues.

James Tibbs III Extends Hit Streak to Six Games, Promotion on the Way?

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III extended his current hit streak to six games on Wednesday, batting a sizzling .409 (9-for-22) during that stretch, including five home runs and a whopping 14 RBI. For the season, the Dodgers' 10th-ranked prospect is slashing .318/.419/.641 with 17 home runs and a strong 14.2 percent walk rate. The strikeouts remain on the high side at 25.8 percent, but with this type of production, it is tolerable, and he should be ticketed for a major league debut in the coming weeks, though it was Ryan Ward who was called upon to replace the recently shelved Teoscar Hernandez (hamstring). Should Ward falter or another need arises in the outfield, Tibbs could very well be on his way to Los Angeles, and with the type of power and on-base ability he's shown at Triple-A Oklahoma City, the 23-year-old should be considered one of the top bats to stash in most redraft leagues.

James Tibbs III a Must-Stash Prospect with Opening on MLB Roster?

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III has been viewed as an intriguing fantasy baseball prospect for a while now, but up until recently, there hadn't been much room for him on the major league roster. That's no longer the case, as outfielder Teoscar Hernandez (hamstring) is headed to the 10-day injured list. While the Dodgers have recalled Ryan Ward to take Hernandez's spot on the 26-man roster for now, Tibbs could force the front office's hand and earn a promotion. Through 51 games this season, he is slashing .310/.413/.616 with 14 home runs, three steals, a 14.6% walk rate, a 25.8% strikeout rate, and 156 wRC+. He's up to 32 extra-base hits on the year, and his blend of contact and power should continue if (and when) he reaches the major league roster. Tibbs has jumped to #12 among outfield prospects in RotoBaller's latest redraft rankings, and he's currently available on the waiver wire in 97% of leagues.

James Tibbs III Homers, Remains a Top Stash Option as Strong Season Continues

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III broke a 21-game homerless drought on Tuesday in a 2-for-6 day at the plate, belting his 12th home run of the season. As has been the case this year, his big power comes with a lot of swing-and-miss, with the Dodgers' 10th-ranked prospect striking out in three of his six at-bats. A strong walk rate has helped to offset that this year, and the result is a .316/.422/.606 slash line with a 15.2 percent walk rate, 25.2 percent strikeout rate, a .449 wOBA, and a 158 wRC+. His 16 doubles and 50 runs scored both lead the Pacific Coast League. It seems a big league debut would be in order with everything he's done at Triple-A this year, but right now, he's not on the 40-man roster, and there is no opening in the outfield on the majors roster. Still, with the groove he is in at the plate, the 23-year-old remains one of the top hitters to stash in fantasy leagues with a debut likely to happen later this season.

James Tibbs III Still a Top Hitter to Stash Amid Hot Stretch

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III has been a streaky hitter so far in 2026, and right now, he's on a hot streak. The Dodgers' 10th-ranked prospect is 10-for-21 (.476) with a pair of doubles and a triple over his last six games. The former first-rounder has also shown an incredible eye during this stretch, collecting a whopping 11 walks compared to just three strikeouts, raising his walk rate to a strong 16.4 percent on the year. The left-handed slugger is now slashing .311/.425/.605 for the season with 11 home runs, a .450 wOBA, and a 159 wRC+. The patient approach combined with the ability to hit for extra bases should push him to the majors at some point this season, although there is no opening in the Dodger outfield at the moment. That could change quickly, though, and with the potential to be hitting in a potent lineup, the 23-year-old remains one of fantasy's top hitters to stash in deep 12-team mixed leagues.

More Motivation to Stash James Tibbs III Amid Latest Surge?

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect James Tibbs III is back in the headlines amidst an explosive four-game stint at Triple-A. Over his last four games, he's hitting 9-for-16 with two doubles, a triple, eight RBI, eight walks, and just two strikeouts. He has an absurd .708 OBP during that span, and he continues to demonstrate a blend of power and speed while limiting strikeouts. In total this season, he's slashing .314/.422/.616 with 11 home runs, a 15.5% walk rate, a 24.8% strikeout rate, and 162 wRC+. If he were in any other farm system, he'd likely be in the majors by now, but since the Dodgers have so much star power in the majors, there's no rush to call him up. With that being said, his tremendous performances at the plate will force the Dodgers' hand sooner rather than later. Managers should get ahead of his eventual debut by stashing him in fantasy baseball now. He is already rostered in 3% of leagues, and he ranks #12 among outfield prospects in RotoBaller's latest redraft rankings.
