For now, fantasy managers should consider Ortiz as day-to-day. If he misses any time, Hamilton or Cooper Pratt could see an extended look at the hot corner. Pratt could be worth scooping up in deep leagues, especially with extended playing time.

The 26-year-old has struggled mightily for the most part this season, but he has been turning things around at the dish over the last week or so. He is 13-for-30 with two homers and eight RBI over his last seven games. That said, he still holds pretty awful numbers for the season, as he is now hitting .217 with 31 runs, four homers, 18 RBI, and eight steals. Ortiz is still a ways off from even being a consideration for fantasy managers.
