Josue De Paula Rises To 49th Overall In Latest Rankings

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect Josue De Paula landed at 64 on MLB.com's July re-rank, and after the latest reshuffle, the 19-year-old now sits at 49th overall. The Dodgers' No. 2 prospect posted a a solid .274-8-47-49-18 line over his first 71 games this season between Single-A and High-A before a brutal 10-game stretch where the left-handed hitter went 2-for-34 (.059). The Brooklyn-born outfielder has finally started to turn it around as of late, collecting at least one hit in four of the last five games. De Paula projects to be a solid contact hitter with big power and some speed. With the makings of a valuable fantasy asset, dynasty managers should be all over him.

Josue De Paula Goes Deep For High-A Great Lakes

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect Josue De Paula went 1-for-5 with a three-run home run for High-A Great Lakes on Wednesday. The 19-year-old from Brooklyn is hitting .250 with two homers and six RBI in 15 games since his call-up to High-A. De Paula is hitting .273 between two levels this season with eight homers and 47 RBI to go with 18 stolen bases. The Dodgers' No. 2 prospect offers a high-impact bat with plus speed. At just 19, he is still a raw prospect but he has time to develop his body as he continues to climb the minor league ranks. De Paula is a promising prospect who could be a future fantasy star.

Josue De Paula Lands On Minors Injured List

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect Josue De Paula (undisclosed) was placed on the seven-day injured list in the minors on Friday after he was removed in the ninth inning on Wednesday and was out of the lineup on the Fourth of July on Thursday for High-A Great Lakes. The 19-year-old had been promoted from Single-A Rancho Cucamonga to Great Lakes at the end of June after hitting .279/.388/.447 with six home runs and 14 stolen bases in 55 games for the Quakes. He had gone 4-for-22 (.182) with two steals in eight games at Great Lakes before getting hurt the other day. It remains to be seen how serious De Paula's injury is, but he won't be a candidate for the big leagues for at least several more seasons. Per MLB Pipeline, he's LA's No. 2 prospect behind only catcher/first baseman Dalton Rushing.

Josue De Paula A Big Riser In Latest Rankings Update

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect Josue De Paula rose 14 spots in the latest MLB.com prospect rankings update, from 78 to 64. The 19-year-old is the second- highest ranked prospect in the Dodgers' system and was able to shake off a 6-for-34 (.176) start to the Single-A season to go on to hit .299 over the next 47 games before ascending to High-A. Things have not gone so well there to this point, going 4-for-22 (.167) over the lefty's first eight games, but he's walked twice as much as he's struck out (10:5) and stolen two bases. Although not likely to see the majors for a couple of years, he should be all over dynasty managers' radar given his abilities and upside.

Josue De Paula Notches Two Hits For Rancho Cucamonga

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect Josue De Paula went 2-for-4 for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Sunday and homered on Saturday. The 19-year-old is hitting .235 with six homers and 32 RBI this season. De Paula, the No. 2 prospect in the Dodgers' farm system, is Brooklyn-born but signed out of the Dominican Republic in 2022. The sweet-swinging lefty has all the tools to be an impact big leaguer but will likely need a few more years of minor-league seasoning. He should be a priority name in dynasty leagues as he progresses through the minor leagues. De Paula could be a household name and fantasy staple playing for a big-time franchise for several years.

Josue De Paula Hits First Homer

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect Josue De Paula hit his first home run of the season for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga on Wednesday. De Paula, 18, is a consensus Top-100 prospect and another potential big asset for the star-studded Dodgers. De Paula got off to a slow start this season, but has gotten going lately and has nine doubles and two triples to go along with 11 stolen bases over his first 25 games. Although he isn't going to help managers in 2024 or even 2025, the 6'3, right-handed offers good bat speed and his power should continue to grow as his body fills out. With the ability to help across the board, dynasty managers should consider De Paula, even though it may be a while until he is able to help at the big-league level.

Josue De Paula Off To A Cold Start

Los Angeles Dodgers outfield prospect Josue De Paula went 0-for-4 on Tuesday for Single-A Rancho Cucamonga, bringing his season average down to .176. While he started the season with a six-game hit streak, none were multi-hit efforts and he's yet to hit his first home run of the 2024 campaign. De Paula had a solid 2023 in which he finished with a .284 average, stole 14 bases, and had a strong 13.5% BB%, but it hasn't carried over to 2024 thus far. At just 18 years old, he's the Dodgers' fourth-ranked prospect and 95th overall per MLB.com. The lefty has had some lofty comparisons so hopefully he can get going. For dynasty purposes, if he lives up to his comps then managers are sitting on a gold mine, although it will be some time till we see him in L.A.
