Nelson Rada Launches First Triple-A Home Run

Los Angeles Angels outfield prospect Nelson Rada went 3-for-5 with a double and a home run during their contest against Triple-A Las Vegas on Thursday evening. This was his first three-hit game since earning a promotion to Triple-A. During his first three games at Triple-A, Rada tallied at least one hit in all of them, but did not hit one for extra bases. He has also swiped four bags throughout these four total games. The 19-year-old opened the campaign with Double-A and needed just 93 games to prove he was ready to join the top ranks in the minor leagues. Through 93 games at Double-A Rocket City, Rada posted a .277/.380/.332 line with a .712 OPS. Given Los Angeles' aggressiveness when it comes to promoting prospects, the 19-year-old has an outside chance to open the 2026 season with the Angels.

Nelson Rada Settling in at Triple-A Salt Lake

Los Angeles Angels outfield prospect Nelson Rada was promoted to Triple-A Salt Lake on August 2, and since then, he's recorded a hit in each of the three games he's played. The Angels' sixth-ranked prospect is 3-for-12 (.250) with three RBI, three runs scored, a 1:2 BB:K, and three stolen bases. It is much like what he had put on display at Double-A, where he hit .277 with 34 steals over 93 games for Double-A Rocket City. The 5-foot-9 Venezuelan doesn't offer much power, though, as he's tallied just five home runs in 1371 career at-bats in the minors. Nevertheless, at 19 years old, he's the youngest player at Triple-A, which should give you an idea of how talented he is, although the lack of power somewhat diminishes his potential fantasy value. The left-handed hitter could debut in the big leagues next year, and his defense will help get him there.

Nelson Rada Tallies Stolen Base No. 29

Los Angeles Angels outfield prospect Nelson Rada went 2-for-5 with a double and a stolen base during their contest against Double-A Knoxville on Thursday evening. This was Rada's first multi-hit game since June 24. This was also his first stolen base since June 21. After spending the entire 2024 campaign at the Double-A level, the Angels opted to have their No. 6-ranked prospect remain with Double-A Rocket City through the first half of the campaign. Through 75 games this season, Rada has been quite effective, posting a .281/.383/.335 line with 11 doubles, one home run, and 29 stolen bases. Last summer, he held a much lower .234/.331/.269 line through 123 games with Double-A. Given his production this season, Rada should be in the mix to join Triple-A in the second half.

Nelson Rada Breaks Out Of Slump With Three-Hit Night

Los Angeles Angels outfield prospect Nelson Rada broke out of a prolonged slump with a three-hit night and a home run on Friday evening. Entering Friday, Rada tallied just one hit in his past ten games and was riding a 4:18 BB:K ratio. Rada began this season by making his Double-A debut which was quite surprising as he never logged one game at the High-A level. Through 50 games this summer with Double-A Rocket City, he has posted a .231/.292/.267 line with 21 swiped bags. Last summer with Single-A, he held a strong .276/.395/.346 line with an eye-catching 55 stolen bases. While his hitting has yet to make the jump over to Double-A, his speed has, which is a great sign. Rada is considered the best prospect in the Angels system and is worth stashing in all dynasty leagues as he is developing into one of the game's best threats on the basepaths.

Nelson Rada, Caden Dana Get Spring Training Invites

Los Angeles Angels outfielder Nelson Rada and pitcher Caden Dana are among the team's non-roster invites for major-league spring training this year. Rada, 18, was signed for $1.8 million in January of 2022 as an international free agent from Venezuela when he was just 16. The left-handed hitter slashed .276/.396/.346 with two home runs, 48 RBI, 55 stolen bases and 94 runs scored in 115 games at Single-A Inland Empire in 2023. He'll look to continue his development in the minors for the Halos in 2024. Dana, 20, is one of the team's top pitching prospects and went 3-5 with a 3.56 ERA, 1.18 WHIP, 30 walks and 89 strikeouts with Inland Empire and High-A Tri-City last year over 14 starts (68 1/3 innings). The young right-hander was the team's 11th-round pick in 2022.
