Ty Madden News
Detroit Tigers pitcher Ty Madden showed off his swing-and-miss stuff during Sunday's game against the Oakland Athletics. The rookie right-hander came in after opener Beau Brieske threw a scoreless inning. Madden looked sharp as he struck out seven batters while allowing only one run over five innings of work. The Tigers might not push Madden too hard in September, but he's expected to be a big part of their future. He holds a 2.57 ERA and 10/4 K/BB ratio over three appearances this season. He probably won't be worth adding in fantasy leagues this season, but is someone worth keeping an eye on heading into 2025.

Ty Madden Making MLB Debut On Monday
Detroit Tigers pitching prospect Ty Madden is being called up to the big league club to start Monday's game against the Chicago White Sox. Madden, a 2021 first-round pick, is Detroit's No. 16 prospect according to MLB Pipeline. The 24-year-old has had a tough go in Triple-A this year, pitching to a 7.97 ERA and 1.77 WHIP over 79 IP. He does have 102 strikeouts, but it comes with 40 walks and 17 homers against, both untenable numbers. Although he has the softest landing spot imaginable in a matchup against the White Sox, he should be left on the waiver wire until he proves he belongs in the majors.

Ty Madden Beginning To Turn The Corner At Triple-A
Detroit Tigers starting pitching prospect Ty Madden posted two straight quality starts at Triple-A and is beginning to put his early-season struggles behind him. Madden was promoted to Triple-A on April 29 after spending all of the last season and early part of this one at Double-A. Through his first 31 innings with Triple-A Toledo, the Texas product posted a hefty 10.16 ERA, 2.23 WHIP, and 25:37 BB:K ratio. However, in his last two outings, he held a 2.25 ERA, 0.92 WHIP, and a 4:14 BBK ratio. This is a big step in the right direction for the number five ranked prospect in the Detroit system. If he continues to carry this momentum through July, he could push for a major league debut in August.
