Monday Night Football DFS Preview: Rams at 49ers
Monday Night Football DFS Preview
Football fans get an exciting matchup for Monday Night Football when the 7-2 Los Angeles Rams visit the 3-5 San Francisco 49ers.
The Rams offense sputtered against the Tennessee Titans last week and the 49ers have struggled to put things together recently. But there is plenty of firepower on both teams and thus plenty of options for the DraftKings Showdown slate.
Here are my thoughts on Tonights MNF Game
Quick Links
Captain
Cooper Kupp, WR, Rams, $18,000
There is no need to overthink this one. You want the player who has the highest ceiling in your captain spot and that without a doubt is Cooper Kupp. Kupp has only one game this season with fewer than 10 targets. He has scored at least 20 DraftKings points in each of his last four games, with a high of 40.6. He is the safest option and the one with the most upside. Plug him in and then worry about the rest of your lineup.
Flex options
Matthew Stafford, QB, Rams, $10,800
Pairing Stafford with Kupp is always a good move. Stafford is coming off his lowest fantasy output of the season against the Titans last week (15.06 DK points). He has shown he can go for more than 30 points in a game. He gets a good matchup in this game and is well worth building your lineup around.
Deebo Samuel, WR, 49ers, $9,000
This seems like a reasonable price for someone with the upside of Deebo. Samuel had one of his lowest fantasy outputs of the season last week. He was limited to 11.3 points against the Cardinals. But Samuel has four games of 30-plus points this season. It will be interesting to see how his targets will be moving forward with George Kittle returning and Brandon Aiyuk emerging a bit. But Samuel is still the best option in the passing game for the 49ers and they can get him the ball in a variety of ways. Fire him up with confidence.
George Kittle, TE, 49ers, $7,800
Kittle, one of the most talented tight ends in the league, is back and he showed what he can do last week. He had 6 catches for 101 yards and a touchdown (24.1 DK points). He was targeted a healthy 8 times, so he is still a focal point of the offense. He looks like a great option on this slate and has the ability to put up a big score.
Van Jefferson, WR, Rams, $5,400
Jefferson could step into a large role on Monday with Robert Woods out for the year and new addition Odell Beckham Jr. becoming acclimated to the Rams' offense and possibly being eased into an on-field role. Jefferson has already shown he is a capable option on the outside. He has at least six targets in the last three games and has scored double-digit points in two of those contests. He should serve as the No. 2 receiver in this game and has big upside at his price point.
Jeff Wilson Jr., RB, 49ers, $1,200
Warning: this is a complete dart throw for those looking for salary relief with a lot of pricey options on the board. Wilson is coming off an injury and was active for the first time last week. He did not see the field at all, however. Mike Shanahan has shown he is willing to play Wilson in the past few years and you never know what kind of game plan the 49ers will have with the backfield. Elijah Mitchell is entrenched as the starter but Wilson could come in and surprise with some work. He could also put up zero points, so you have to decide for yourself if you want to take this risk.
