Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Demarcus Robinson needed to step up with the loss of tight end Travis Kelce (concussion), and he did just that. Robinson did all of his damage on the final drive before halftime without Kelce. He caught all four of his targets for 57 yards and one touchdown. The second-year receiver finished with 21 receptions for 212 yards and zero touchdowns this season. Receiver Albert Wilson will head to free agency this offseason, which should mean Robinson's role will increase in KC next season.
Kansas City Chiefs wide receiver Demarcus Robinson is in line for a heavy workload on Sunday against the New York Giants. Receiver Albert Wilson (hamstring) has been ruled out for the second straight game. That means Robinson will be the No. 2 receiver next to Tyreek Hill. Robinson hauled in two of two targets for 18 yards in Week 9 against the Cowboys. The Giants defense ranks as one the worst in pass defense which means Robinson should be in line for a better game. He's a WR3/flex option against a horrendous Giants defense in Week 11.
Thursday's loss to the Raiders was the first time that receiver Demarcus Robinson has been that involved in the Kansas City offense. He caught 5-of-8 targets for 69 yards, but failed to reach the end zone. The injuries to the Chiefs receivers have put Robinson in a position to be a reliable option in Week 7. It will be difficult to see this kind of play weekly from Robinson. The Chiefs have Kareem Hunt, Travis Kelce, and Tyreek Hill as their big play makers. This was likely just a one week kind of show from Robinson.
