Puka Nacua News
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua (oblique) returned to practice on Friday, according to beat writer Adam Grosbard. Grosbard added that Nacua was participating in practice during the portion open to the media, so there's a chance it was a limited session. This is an encouraging sign for Nacua, who was held out of practice on Thursday. The Rams have expressed that they want to take it easy on the rookie wideout but they don't anticipate him being limited for their Monday night tilt against the Cincinnati Bengals. Nacua has been a target hog across the first two games of his NFL career, hauling in 25 receptions (35 targets) for 266 scoreless yards. As long as he remains quarterback Matthew Stafford's favorite target, he should be rostered and started in all fantasy football leagues.
Los Angeles Rams head coach Sean McVay said that the team will be careful with rookie wide receiver Puka Nacua (oblique), but he doesn't anticipate it affecting Nacua's game status for the Monday night game against the Cincinnati Bengals in Week 3. Nacua officially was listed as a non-participant in the first practice of the week on Thursday. The 23-year-old rookie also missed some practice time last week but was ultimately active in the Week 2 loss to the San Francisco Giants and caught an incredible 15 passes on 20 targets for 147 yards after going for a 10-119-0 line in his NFL debut in the season opener. For now, fantasy managers have no reason to pull the target hog from their starting lineups this week, and Cooper Kupp (hamstring) won't be back from Injured Reserve for at least two more weeks.
Los Angeles Rams wide receiver Puka Nacua (oblique) dominated once again in the team's Week 2 loss to the San Francisco 49ers. Despite being listed on the injury report and entering this game as questionable, Nacua looked more than healthy and broke records. The 5th-round rookie caught 15 of his 20 targets for 147 yards, giving Nacua 25 catches through his first two career games, an NFL record. He also had two carries, which resulted in four yards. The 22-year-old has proven to be Matthew Stafford's primary target with Cooper Kupp (hamstring) out, as he finished with over 30 PPR points this week. Nacua should be locked into your starting lineup each week with Kupp out and is a low-end WR1 in full-PPR leagues.
