KC's secondary could struggle a bit in a tough Week 2 matchup on Thursday night against the Los Angeles Chargers and their potent offense.

The Kansas City Chiefs selected Washington cornerback Trent McDuffie with the 21st overall pick in the 2022 NFL draft on Thursday evening. The Chiefs traded with the New England Patriots in order to move up and take McDuffie. He is a lockdown cornerback, but he lacks ideal length and size at 5-foot-10 and 193 pounds. McDuffie was often avoided by opposing quarterbacks due to his dominance in the Pac-12, which is why he only recorded two career interceptions. With Charvarius Ward departing in free agency this offseason, McDuffie fills a position of need for an already very strong Chiefs squad on both sides of the ball.
