Colby Parkinson News
Seattle Seahawks free-agent tight end Colby Parkinson intends to sign a three-year, $22.5 million deal that includes $15.5 million guaranteed with the Los Angeles Rams, according to sources. Before playing at Stanford, Parkinson attended Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village, Calif., which is right down the road from the Rams' training complex. Parkinson, the former fourth-round pick of the Seahawks in 2020, will stay in the NFC West and will get a shot to serve as the team's top pass-catching tight end, at least to start the 2024 season. It's unlikely that Tyler Higbee (knee) will be ready to go for the start of the season after tearing his ACL and MCL in the playoffs. In Seattle, the 25-year-old Parkinson never had more than 322 receiving yards or two touchdowns in a single season, so fantasy managers shouldn't suddenly expect him to become a TE1 in LA with Higbee sidelined.
Seattle Seahawks tight end Colby Parkinson caught the game-winning touchdown pass from Geno Smith in Sunday's 20-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans. The pass came on the heels of two failed attempts by Zach Charbonnet to punch the ball in on the ground inside the Titans' five-yard line. With his other receivers spread out to the right, Smith found Parkinson in the left side of the end zone and hit him with a strike for the score. The tight end finished the day with three catches for 17 yards and the score, his second of the season. Seattle's tight end group regularly rotates and they are used primarily as blockers, so Parkinson's big catch was something of a fluke. He, nor any of the Seahawks' tight ends, should be relied on in Week 17 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Seattle Seahawks tight end Colby Parkinson (bicep) was not present at the team's practice on Wednesday. Parkinson dealt with this bicep injury coming into Week 10 but winded up playing through the issue in the Seahawks' 29-26 win over the Washington Commanders. The tight end caught one pass for three yards in that contest, and he'll have two more chances this week to upgrade his practice status before Sunday's matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. If he suits up, he should only be started in extremely deep tight end premium leagues in Week 11.
