Colby Parkinson Could Have A Role In 2024

Los Angeles Rams tight end Colby Parkinson will add "real value" to the offense during the 2024 season, head coach Sean McVay said Wednesday (via Cameron DaSilva of The Rams Wire). Specifically, the Rams like Parkinson's size and catch radius, leading them to believe that he could be open the year as their No. 1 tight end if Tyler Higbee (ACL, MCL) isn't good to go. In such a scenario, Parkinson would rank as a low-end TE2 even though he has just 57 catches, 618 yards, and four touchdowns over his previous four years.

Colby Parkinson Signing With Rams

Seattle Seahawks free-agent tight end Colby Parkinson intends to sign a three-year, $22.5 million deal that includes $15.5 million guaranteed with the Los Angeles Rams, according to sources. Before playing at Stanford, Parkinson attended Oaks Christian School in Westlake Village, Calif., which is right down the road from the Rams' training complex. Parkinson, the former fourth-round pick of the Seahawks in 2020, will stay in the NFC West and will get a shot to serve as the team's top pass-catching tight end, at least to start the 2024 season. It's unlikely that Tyler Higbee (knee) will be ready to go for the start of the season after tearing his ACL and MCL in the playoffs. In Seattle, the 25-year-old Parkinson never had more than 322 receiving yards or two touchdowns in a single season, so fantasy managers shouldn't suddenly expect him to become a TE1 in LA with Higbee sidelined.

Colby Parkinson Gets Game-Winning Grab In Week 16

Seattle Seahawks tight end Colby Parkinson caught the game-winning touchdown pass from Geno Smith in Sunday's 20-17 victory over the Tennessee Titans. The pass came on the heels of two failed attempts by Zach Charbonnet to punch the ball in on the ground inside the Titans' five-yard line. With his other receivers spread out to the right, Smith found Parkinson in the left side of the end zone and hit him with a strike for the score. The tight end finished the day with three catches for 17 yards and the score, his second of the season. Seattle's tight end group regularly rotates and they are used primarily as blockers, so Parkinson's big catch was something of a fluke. He, nor any of the Seahawks' tight ends, should be relied on in Week 17 against the Pittsburgh Steelers.

Colby Parkinson Misses Practice On Wednesday

Seattle Seahawks tight end Colby Parkinson (bicep) was not present at the team's practice on Wednesday. Parkinson dealt with this bicep injury coming into Week 10 but winded up playing through the issue in the Seahawks' 29-26 win over the Washington Commanders. The tight end caught one pass for three yards in that contest, and he'll have two more chances this week to upgrade his practice status before Sunday's matchup against the Los Angeles Rams. If he suits up, he should only be started in extremely deep tight end premium leagues in Week 11.

DeeJay Dallas, Colby Parkinson Active For Week 10

Seattle Seahawks running back DeeJay Dallas (shoulder) and tight end Colby Parkinson (biceps) are active for Sunday's game against the Washington Commanders. Both players had been listed as questionable but were expected to play after logging full practices on Friday. Dallas is the Seahawks' No. 3 running back, so while he should earn a few snaps, he's not on the fantasy radar. Meanwhile, Parkinson gets on the field during two-tight end sets but doesn't earn enough volume to generate any fantasy appeal. Both players can be left on waivers.

Colby Parkinson Finishes With Two TDs In 2022

Seattle Seahawks tight end Colby Parkinson caught 25 passes for 325 yards and two touchdowns across 17 games in 2022. He remains Seattle's top tight end Will Dissly (knee) is on injured reserve. The 26-year-old has handled TE1 duties for the Seahawks and out-snapped teammate Noah Fant 112-to-90 the last two weeks. He has caught seven passes for 83 yards and a touchdown during that span. Seattle made the playoffs and will take on the San Francisco 49ers in the wild-card round. With a low price tag, Parkinson can be used as a punt option in DFS in GPPs only in a tough matchup versus the 49ers.

Colby Parkinson Expected To Return In Week 4

Seattle Seahawks tight end Colby Parkinson (foot) is expected to be activated from the injured reserve ahead of Sunday's game against the San Francisco 49ers. Once activated, he could have an expanded role on Sunday with starting TE Gerald Everett (COVID-19) likely unavailable. Parkinson re-injured the foot that kept him out for much of his rookie season and had yet to appear in 2021. The 22-year-old hauled in 2-of-2 targets for 16 yards in just six games in 2020. Parkinson will provide the Seahawks depth at tight end but is not on the fantasy radar in Week 4.

Colby Parkinson Placed On Injured Reserve

The Seattle Seahawks placed tight end Colby Parkinson (foot), rookie cornerback Tre Brown and cornerback Nigel Warrior on Injured Reserve on Tuesday. Receiver Penny Hart and cornerback John Reid were promoted from the practice squad to the active roster. Head coach Pete Carroll said that neither Parkinson nor Brown are expected to be out for an extended period of time, and they'll be eligible to return from IR after just three games. Parkinson re-injured the foot that kept him out for much of his rookie season, so the Seahawks will be cautious with him early on. Luckily for Seattle, they have solid depth at the position, with Gerald Everett set to function as the starter. Will Dissly will back him up heading into the season opener.

Colby Parkinson Could Be A Factor In 2021

Seattle Seahawks head coach Pete Carroll said that tight end Colby Parkinson, who essentially had a redshirt year as a rookie because of a foot injury in training camp last year, "is going to be a factor." Parkinson played in just six games, catching two passes for 16 yards in garbage time. The 6-foot-7 tight end is a physical specimen and should be a prominent red-zone target for quarterback Russell Wilson. Seattle's tight end trio of Will Dissly, Gerald Everett and Parkinson should be able to produce more than Dissly, Greg Olsen and Jacob Hollister did last year. Everett is the one to target in fantasy in this offense, but Parkinson could be worth a pickup off the waiver wire at some point if Dissly or Everett miss time due to injury.

Colby Parkinson Activated, Luke Willson Released

The Seattle Seahawks are activating rookie tight end Colby Parkinson (foot) on Tuesday, with tight end Luke Willson being released in a corresponding move, according to a source. Parkinson, a fourth-round pick out of Stanford, is unlikely to see much of a role behind the likes of veteran Greg Olsen, Will Dissly and Jacob Hollister. You can leave him to the waiver wire in all fantasy formats. Willson saw zero targets in five games this year after catching eight of his 10 targets for 79 yards in eight games (seven starts) for the Seahawks in 2019.
