Myles Garrett Remains on Cautious Practice Plan

Los Angeles Rams defensive end Myles Garrett (knee) remains on a cautious practice plan as the team manages swelling in his knee. Garrett sat out Monday, and head coach Sean McVay said he may not practice at all this week, according to Greg Beacham. This has been an ongoing issue rather than a new setback. Garrett missed time earlier in camp, returned, then was held out of last week's joint practice with Dallas after the swelling resurfaced. McVay said at the time that Garrett felt about 85% and stressed there was nothing to be concerned about. The Rams only practice Tuesday and Thursday for the rest of this week, and McVay sees little reason to push the reigning Defensive Player of the Year through August work. Garrett joined Los Angeles in a blockbuster June trade after setting an NFL single-season record with 23 sacks for Cleveland in 2025. The Rams appear content to manage the knee until Garrett feels fully ready.

Myles Garrett Sidelined by Knee Swelling

Los Angeles Rams defensive end Myles Garrett (knee) sat out Tuesday's joint practice with the Dallas Cowboys because of swelling in his knee, according to Lindsey Thiry. Head coach Sean McVay said Garrett is around "85%" and that the Rams are choosing to be cautious with their new star pass rusher. Garrett missed four practices earlier in camp with what McVay called lower-body soreness before returning last week, though the Rams never connected that absence to his knee. There isn't much reason to push the 30-year-old through a joint practice in August, especially after Los Angeles made a blockbuster trade to bring him over from Cleveland this offseason. Garrett is coming off an incredible 2025 season in which he set the NFL record with 23 sacks and led the league with 33 tackles for loss. The knee swelling is worth watching, but McVay's comments make this sound precautionary for now.

Myles Garrett Returns to Practice on Wednesday

After missing the previous four practices due to "lower-body soreness," Los Angeles Rams pass rusher Myles Garrett (lower body) returned to practice on Wednesday. Rams head coach Sean McVay previously said the issue was "nothing to worry about," and with Garrett back at practice, he should be a full go for the remainder of camp and the regular season. The reigning Defensive Player of the Year was traded to Los Angeles from the Cleveland Browns, marking one of the biggest trades in league history. The possibility of future Hall of Famer Aaron Donald unretiring and returning to the Rams, alongside Garrett, could catapult the Rams' defense into one of the NFL's strongest units.

Myles Garrett Not Participating in Practice, Expected Back Next Week

Los Angeles Rams superstar pass rusher Myles Garrett (lower-body soreness) has not practiced for three straight days, though head coach Sean McVay did not seem concerned about his status. McVay said, "It's nothing to worry about," and added that he "expects [Garrett] to be back for the next practice block." The reigning Defensive Player of the Year was traded to the Los Angeles Rams in June after a record-breaking 2025 season with the Cleveland Browns. With McVay not concerned about his overall outlook, Garrett should be ready to help the Rams get over the hump in 2026, potentially alongside Aaron Donald.

Myles Garrett Set for Another 20-Sack Season?

ESPN's Ben Solak predicts that Los Angeles Rams pass-rusher Myles Garrett will have a chance to become just the second player since 1982 to record multiple 20-plus-sack seasons. Only 23 players in NFL history have even one 20-sack season. Garrett set a new NFL record in 2025 in his final season with the Cleveland Browns with 23 sacks, and he's only missed one game in the last five seasons. With the move to L.A., Garrett will be surrounded by a better overall group of pass-rushers, which includes defensive linemen Kobie Turner and Byron Young. That doesn't account for the potential for defensive tackle Aaron Donald coming out of retirement. The 30-year-old seven-time Pro Bowler should see more clear pass-rush situations on a Rams team that will be one of the favorites to win the Super Bowl next season. He should have "more ripe opportunities for sacks than ever before." Garrett was already an attractive D-lineman in IDP fantasy formats, but with the move to the Rams and after his record-breaking 2025 season, he'll be the most coveted defensive lineman.

Rams Rework Myles Garrett's Contract

The Los Angeles Rams and star edge rusher Myles Garrett did not agree on a new deal after he was acquired in a blockbuster trade from the Cleveland Browns on Monday, according to Ian Rapoport of the NFL Network. Instead, the Rams reworked Garrett's contract that pays him $204 million over five years. The average per year and term stay the same as his deal was in Cleveland, but the alteration allows the Rams to onboard Garrett and his record-setting deal to move the vesting date of his guarantees back a few months. The 30-year-old seven-time Pro Bowler and five-time first-team All-Pro will head to the NFC West to try and help the Rams get to another Super Bowl after setting the NFL's single-season sack record with 23 in 17 starts for Cleveland last year. On paper, the Rams now clearly have the best roster in the NFL, and Garrett's arrival could bring legendary defensive tackle Aaron Donald out of retirement to make their defensive line even more formidable. Garrett will be the No. 1 defensive lineman off the board in IDP fantasy drafts in 2026.

Myles Garrett and Jared Verse Swap Teams in Blockbuster Deal

The Cleveland Browns are finalizing a deal that would send two-time Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett to the Los Angeles Rams in exchange for two-time Pro Bowler Jared Verse, a 2027 first-round pick, and additional compensation that is still being negotiated, as reported by NFL Insider Adam Schefter. Garrett's 23 sacks in 2025 broke the NFL record and helped him earn his second DPOY Award in the past three seasons. He will join a Rams defense that already added Pro Bowl cornerback Trent McDuffie in exchange for a package of picks that included their 2026 first-rounder. With MVP quarterback Matthew Stafford leading the offense and two significant splashes made on defense, the Rams will undoubtedly be an early Super Bowl favorite heading into 2026.

Browns GM Confirms Myles Garrett isn't Being Traded

Cleveland Browns general manager Andrew Berry said on Sunday that the team isn't trading All-Pro pass-rusher Myles Garrett, according to Mary Kay Cabot of The Cleveland Plain Dealer. ESPN's Adam Schefter reported earlier this week on the Pat McAfee Show that the Browns have been "adamant" that they aren't trying to move Garrett, who set the single-season NFL sack record in 2025 with 23 sacks in 17 starts, after modifying his contract to save some salary cap space. It would send a pretty bad message to Browns fans if they traded one of the best pass-rushers in the NFL the year after breaking the all-time sack record. The 30-year-old former first-rounder in 2017 out of Texas A&M will be back with the Browns this coming season to wreak havoc on opposing quarterbacks across the league. Garrett is a physical freak and a beast on the football field with 125.5 career sacks in his nine NFL seasons. Unsurprisingly, Garrett will come off the board fast as a defensive lineman in IDP fantasy leagues.

Browns Won't Trade Myles Garrett

The Cleveland Browns are not expected to trade reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett this offseason, ESPN's Adam Schefter said on the Pat McAfee Show. When Schefter called the Browns due to rumors of a potential Garrett trade, they "said they're 100% not trading" Garrett. The Browns were "adamant" that they don't plan to trade the two-time Defensive Player of the Year. Cleveland just modified Garrett's contract, but it wasn't done with future intentions of trading him, but rather to give the team more salary cap flexibility. Schefter said that the Browns "couldn't have been stronger about it" in stating that they won't be moving one of the best pass-rushers in the game. It would really enrage the Browns' fan base if they traded Garrett, who set the single-season NFL sack record with 23. He's an elite IPD fantasy defensive lineman and has a whopping 125.5 sacks in the first nine years of his career.

Browns Modify Myles Garrett's Contract

The Cleveland Browns and reigning NFL Defensive Player of the Year Myles Garrett agreed on Thursday to modify the language in his contract that became official on Tuesday, league sources told Field Yates of ESPN. Garrett's previous contract called for his option bonuses in 2026, 2027, and 2028 to be exercised by the 15th day of the league year. In the amended deal, the date has been pushed back to seven days before the regular season each year. Additionally, Garrett had $8 million of his base salary in 2029 and 2030 moved into roster bonuses early in each league year. The Browns now have more flexibility to create salary cap space each year, while Garrett benefits from the modified option payments. The 30-year-old All-Pro pass-rusher agreed to a four-year extension with the Browns in March of last year before setting the league's single-season sack record with 23. It's the second time that Garrett has won Defensive Player of the Year, also taking home the honors in 2023, when he led the NFL with 33 tackles for loss. Needless to say, he'll be an elite edge rusher for fantasy managers in IDP formats again in 2026.
