Myles Garrett Misses Practice Sunday With Wrist Ailment

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett was held out of Sundays practice due to a wrist injury, albeit one that head coach Kevin Stefanski seemed not overly concerned about. Garrett has been reinstated and cleared to play as soon as Week 1, with no residual suspension carry over from the 2019 incident that ended his year early. Garrett averaged a sack in every contest that he played last year, in addition to two forced fumbles. With two weeks until the teams season opener against the Ravens, it doesnt sound as if Garrett will have to miss any time, which still may not pull the Cleveland defense into season-long consideration.

Browns Finalizing Extension For Myles Garrett

The Cleveland Browns are finalizing a five-year contract extension with star pass-rusher Myles Garrett worth $125 million, according to a league source. The deal will be worth a total of $144 million over seven years, which would make Garrett the highest-paid non-quarterback in the league. The 24-year-old is expected to sign the deal as early as Wednesday after passing a physical. Garrett was the No. 1 pick out of Texas A&M in 2017 and had 10 sacks in 10 games last year before he was suspended for the final six games for hitting Steelers QB Mason Rudolph with his own helmet on Nov. 14. He's absolutely worth targeting in IDP leagues, as he ranks fourth in sacks per game (0.82) since 2017.

Browns, Myles Garrett Nearing Mega-Extension?

The Cleveland Browns and defensive end Myles Garrett are engaged in contract discussions, setting the stage for a potential mega-extension for the 2017 No. 1 overall pick, according to sources. Garrett still has two years left on his rookie deal after his fifth-year option was exercised, but the Browns have cornerback Denzel Ward, quarterback Baker Mayfield and running back Nick Chubb that they might need to pay in the coming years. Garrett served as six-game suspension for hitting Mason Rudolph with his own helmet, but he had 10 sacks in as many games before the suspension. He can do some serious pass-rushing damage over a full season as one of the most effective pass-rushers in the game. Garrett is a top-five IDP defensive lineman.
