Myles Garrett Tweaks His Hamstring In Minicamp

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that All-Pro pass-rusher Myles Garrett (hamstring) tweaked his hamstring early in minicamp drills this week, but that "he'll be fine." The Browns and Garrett aren't going to take any chances in June, and the 28-year-old defensive end should be ready to go for the start of training camp at the end of July. Garrett should be one of the first five defensive ends off the board in IDP fantasy drafts this fall after winning Defensive Player of the Year honors in his seventh year in the NFL. In 16 regular-season starts, he accumulated 42 tackles (33 solo), 14 sacks, 17 tackles for loss, 30 QB hits, four forced fumbles and a fumble recovery. Garrett is a pass-rushing beast and has had double-digit sacks in all but his rookie campaign for Cleveland back in 2017. He's hat at least 14 sacks in each of the last three years.

Myles Garrett Named Defensive Player Of The Year

Cleveland Browns pass-rusher Myles Garrett was named the 2023 NFL Defensive Player of the Year on Thursday after a dominant campaign. Garrett was an anchor for the Browns' strong defense last season. The 28-year-old All-Pro finished with 42 tackles (33 solo), 14 sacks, 17 tackles for loss, 30 QB hits, four forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 16 regular season contests. It was his sixth straight season with double-digit sacks and his third straight season with at least 14 sacks. Garrett hasn't shown any signs of slowing down and should once again be one of the most feared pass-rushers in the league in 2024. He'll also be one of the first defensive linemen off the board in IDP fantasy drafts.

Myles Garrett Sitting In Week 18

Cleveland Browns All-Pro edge rusher Myles Garrett (hamstring, shoulder) is officially inactive in Week 18 of the regular season against the Cincinnati Bengals. Also out for the Browns defense are cornerbacks Mike Ford (calf) and Greg Newsome II (knee) and safety Juan Thornhill. The Browns are locked into the No. 5 seed for the AFC in the playoffs, so they are resting a handful of notable players on both sides of the ball. Garrett is the biggest name that won't be active in the regular season finale for the Browns, which will make life much easier on Bengals quarterback Jake Browning and Cincy's offense as they look to finish their season up with a win. With the Browns resting key players on defense, their defense/special teams unit won't be as attractive in DFS or season-long leagues this weekend.

Myles Garrett Cleared For Week 13, Denzel Ward Ruled Out

Cleveland Browns All-Pro edge rusher Myles Garrett (shoulder) was a full participant in practice on Friday and has been removed from the final Week 13 injury report, so he will play on Sunday against the Los Angeles Rams. Meanwhile, top cornerback Denzel Ward (shoulder) missed practice all week and will miss his second straight game. The Browns remain a little short-handed in the secondary for the second straight week with Ward sidelined, but it's great news that they will have their best pass-rusher on the field as they look to beat the Rams on the road. Cleveland's D allowed 29 points in the loss to the Denver Broncos last week, and although they remain strong up front, they're more of a low-end defensive unit for starting lineups in Week 13. Garrett should remain in all IDP lineups now that he's cleared to play.

Myles Garrett Works Off To The Side Thursday

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett (shoulder) missed practice for the second day in a row on Thursday, but he worked out on the sideline and still expects to play in Week 13's game against the Los Angeles Rams, per the Elyria Chronicle-Telegram's Scott Petrak. Garrett "felt something pop" in his left shoulder amid Week 12's rough 29-12 loss to the Denver Broncos, which left his arm in a sling during the postgame press conference. Garrett's caliber may allow him to not require much practice to suit up and play some allotment of snaps, but IDP fantasy managers will want to see the 27-year-old two-time All-Pro pass-rusher at Friday's session in some capacity to instill some confidence that he'll indeed be active on Sunday. Garrett ranks third in sacks (13), quarterback pressures (51), and tackles for loss (12) among edge rushers this year. QB Matthew Stafford's outlook would greatly enhance if Garrett is unable to go.

Myles Garrett, Denzel Ward Not Practicing

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett (shoulder), cornerback Denzel Ward (shoulder) and safety Juan Thornhill (calf) are all sitting out of practice on Wednesday. Cleveland's defense was beat up entering their Week 12 loss to the Denver Broncos, and then Garrett injured his shoulder and was in a sling on Sunday. Apparently Garrett avoided a serious shoulder injury, but the 27-year-old All-Pro pass-rusher is day-to-day heading into a Week 13 date with the visiting Los Angeles Rams. Ward missed last week and could certainly miss another game as the Browns' top cornerback. Thornhill was able to play last Sunday, so he should be good if he can return to practice later this week. Fantasy managers in IDP leagues that have been rolling with Garrett all year should be looking for an insurance policy in Week 13 in case he doesn't suit up.

Myles Garrett "Day-To-Day" With Shoulder Injury

Cleveland Browns head coach Kevin Stefanski said that All-Pro pass-rusher Myles Garrett (shoulder) is "sore" with a left-shoulder injury that he suffered in the Week 12 loss to the Denver Broncos on Sunday and that he is "day-to-day." Garrett was in a sling after the game and said he felt a pop in his shoulder, but apparently he avoided any major damage. It's good news for an already banged-up Browns defense and fantasy managers in IDP leagues, but we'll have to see if he's feeling good enough to play in Week 13 against the Los Angeles Rams. The 27-year-old is a must-start in IDP formats when he's healthy, as he has 13 sacks and 24 solo tackles for Cleveland through 11 games in 2023. Garrett is on pace to set a new career-high in sacks this year after recording 16 in each of the last two years.

Myles Garrett Will Get His Shoulder Evaluated

Cleveland Browns defensive lineman Myles Garrett (shoulder) was seen in a sling during the postgame press conference after their game against the Denver Broncos. The elite pass-rusher said that he felt something in his left shoulder pop, but he doesn't know the severity of the injury just yet. Garrett said that he'll be getting some scans done in Los Angeles. He has been at the forefront of the number-one defense in the league, and the Browns are already without Deshaun Watson (shoulder) on the other side of the ball. If he has to miss extended time, this would be a huge blow to their playoff hopes. Fantasy managers with their defense should stay tuned for more updates from the further tests.

Myles Garrett Ready To Go

Cleveland Browns defensive end Myles Garrett (foot) has been cleared to suit up for Sunday's Week 6 matchup against the San Francisco 49ers. The superstar pass rusher injured his foot in Week 4. Luckily, the Browns had a bye last week, so Garrett had time to get fully recovered. He was limited in practice to start the week, but got in a full session on Friday. It remains to be seen if Garrett will have his full workload this week, but regardless his presence on the field is an upgrade to this Browns defense.

Myles Garrett Misses Practice Wednesday

Cleveland Browns pass-rusher Myles Garrett (foot) did not take part in practice on Wednesday. Garrett is dealing with a left-foot injury, but head coach Kevin Stefanski previously said the star defensive end is expected to be OK for the Week 6 game against the visiting San Francisco 49ers. The 27-year-old left the Week 4 game in a walking boot, but he also had all of last week's bye to rest up. Garrett's practice status is worth keeping a close eye on this week. As long as he's able to get back on the practice field on Thursday or Friday, we'll feel much better about him playing this Sunday. Garrett has 5.5 sacks in four games played so far in 2023 and is a must-start in IDP fantasy leagues when he's on the field.
