David Sills V Plays Pivotal Role in Falcons' Win Over Buccaneers

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver David Sills V caught six of his 10 targets for 78 yards during Thursday's Week 15 win over the Tampa Bay Buccaneers. Sills was heavily targeted by Kirk Cousins in the victory, and he continued to earn the quarterback's trust even after a potential touchdown pass hit off his hands. The 29-year-old made up for it with six total catches, including a key reception that moved the chains and kept Atlanta's hopes alive on fourth-and-long during the final, game-winning drive. Sills' rapport with Cousins has been thrust into the spotlight ever since it was reported that the two have lockers next to each other. He has taken on a much bigger role with Drake London sidelined, playing at least 94% of the snaps in each of his last two games. He has at least 9.5 fantasy points (PPR) in three of his last four games with London inactive, as well as a touchdown in two of those four. Sills' fantasy value will presumably decline when London returns, but until that happens, he has streaming appeal as a high-volume WR3/flex in deeper leagues.

David Sills V a Deep-League Dice Roll on Thursday Night

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver David Sills V was targeted four times in Week 14's 37-9 loss to the Seahawks, however, he failed to haul in any of those passes. It was a disappointing performance after two straight weeks catching touchdown passes from Kirk Cousins. Despite the goose egg, two of the 29-year-old's targets came in the red zone, and he was on the field for 94 percent of the team's offensive plays, which was well ahead of wide receivers Darnell Mooney (77 percent) and Dylan Drummond (61 percent). With Drake London (knee) ruled out once again, Sills will have another opportunity to produce on Thursday night against a Tampa Bay defense that has yielded the sixth-most passing yards per game this season (237.8). The 6-foot-3 wideout has a floor of zero, but has the potential for another touchdown catch as well, making him a very risky WR option in only the deepest of formats.

David Sills V a Dicey Deep-League Play in Tough Week 14 Matchup

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver David Sills V has caught touchdown passes in consecutive weeks, although he's done it while totaling four catches for 31 yards in those two games combined. The 29-year-old's opportunity has come while Drake London (knee) has been sidelined with injury the last couple of weeks, and that will again be the case in Week 14. The 6-foot-3 wideout provides a big target in the red zone compared to some of the other receiving options for the Falcons, but it could be tough to keep the scoring streak alive in Week 14 against Seattle, a defense that has yielded the fifth-fewest fantasy points to opposing wide receivers for the season and is yielding just 152.7 yards per game through the air over their last three games. Atlanta has an implied total of just 19 points in this matchup, so there could be limited scoring opportunities, although, as seven-point underdogs, the Falcons may have to throw it to keep up. Either way, Sills makes for a risky play with trips to the fantasy playoffs on the line in many leagues, so he's really only a viable option in the deepest of leagues, or perhaps a DFS tournament play.

Is David Sills V in Line for More Work After Recording Another Touchdown Catch?

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver David Sills V hauled in two of his four targets for 15 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 27-24 loss to the Jets. It was the second consecutive week in which the 29-year-old secured a touchdown pass from quarterback Kirk Cousins. Surely fantasy managers who were desperate enough to deploy Sills were happy with the results, but there may not be much room for this hot stretch to run with such low volume being directed at the veteran and with the potential for Drake London (knee) to return in Week 14 against the Seahawks. Interested managers may consider picking up the 6-foot-3 wideout off the waiver wire, then monitor practice reports for the rest of the week, and if London returns, cut bait with Sills. Seattle has been tough against the pass this season, but it's at least a home matchup in Atlanta on Sunday.

David Sills V a Speculative WR Option in Deep Leagues

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver David Sills V made the most of his opportunity last week with Drake London (knee) absent, hauling in two of his three targets for 16 yards and one touchdown. London has been ruled out for Week 13 again, so Sills should get an opportunity to be fantasy relevant for a second straight game on Sunday. The 29-year-old will have to share looks with Darnell Mooney, Kyle Pitts Sr., Bijan Robinson, and others, so the veteran wideout is nothing more than a speculative flier in very deep leagues, especially given that Sunday's matchup versus the Jets is expected to be a low-scoring affair against a defense that has been fairly good against the pass in recent weeks.

David Sills V a Deep-League Option in Week 13

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver David Sills V caught his first touchdown of the season in Week 12 against the New Orleans Saints, finishing with two receptions for 16 yards on three targets. Sills took advantage of superstar wideout Drake London (knee) missing the game, playing 69.6% of the snaps while setting a season high in receiving yards. The production was still modest, but it was positive to see the veteran see usage down near the goal line. London is set to miss at least one more game in Week 13, setting up Sills to see a healthy number of routes again against the New York Jets. The expected volume of routes makes Sills an option in deep leagues for Week 13.

David Sills V Catches a Touchdown, Could it Lead to More Work?

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver David Sills V caught two of his three targets for 16 yards and a touchdown in Sunday's 24-10 win over the Saints. With Drake London (knee) and Michael Penix Jr. (knee) both missing this game, the offense looked a bit different, and the volume was more spread out, with Charlie Woerner and Dylan Drummond each earning three targets as well, the first targets of the season for Drummond. If London ends up missing another week, Sills could end up being a low-end WR/Flex flier again for desperate managers in deeper leagues. With a slight height advantage at 6-foot-3 over the other wide receivers who saw action this past weekend, perhaps the 29-year-old could see another red zone look or two against the Jets in Week 13 if London were out, a defense that is bottom-third in terms of fantasy points allowed to the wide receiver position.

Is David Sills V an Option in Deep Leagues for Week 12?

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver David Sills V is expected to see more opportunities in Week 12 with Drake London (knee) ruled out. Sills has been on the field consistently for Atlanta this season, playing 40.3% of the snaps, but has just four catches for 34 yards on nine targets. Atlanta will also be without starting quarterback Michael Penix Jr. (knee) on Sunday, leaving Kirk Cousins to make his second start of the season. Cousins will primarily be looking for Darnell Mooney and Kyle Pitts Sr. in the passing game, but Sills may see an increase in opportunities as well. He will likely be in the top three Falcons for routes run, which gives him some appeal in deeper leagues.

David Sills V to be More Involved With Teammate Injured

Atlanta Falcons wide receiver Davis Sills V should be in line for more work in Week 12 against the division-rival New Orleans Saints after Drake London (knee) suffered a PCL sprain in the overtime loss to the Carolina Panthers on Sunday. Darnell Mooney and tight end Kyle Pitts Sr. should be quarterback Kirk Cousins' top targets for however long London is sidelined, but Sills inevitably should see more looks as well. The 29-year-old caught one of his two targets in the Week 11 loss for 11 yards, which was his second-best game of the year. In his first year in Atlanta, he's only caught four of his nine targets for 34 yards in 10 games, so it would be unreasonable to expect him to suddenly go off in fantasy in the coming weeks with London injured. Still, Sills is worth a look off the waiver wire in deeper leagues for WR depth. He's currently available in 100% of Yahoo leagues.

Falcons Sign David Sills, Others To Futures Deals

The Atlanta Falcons announced on Tuesday that they signed wide receivers David Sills, Phillip Dorsett II, Dylan Drummond, Jesse Matthews and Makai Polk, defensive tackles Junior Aho and LaCale London, offensive lineman Matthew Cindric, running back Elijah Dotson, offensive guards Joey Fisher and Jovaughn Gwyn, defensive backs Lamar Jackson and Benny Sapp III, quarterback Emory Jones, defensive end Khalid Kareem and offensive tackle Tyrone Wheatley Jr. to Reserve/Futures deals. Thirteen of the 16 players were on the Falcons' practice squad at some point in 2024, with Gwyn, Jackson and Kareem seeing time on the active roster. Sills was with the Denver Broncos this year and was elevated to the active roster in Week 17, although he didn't see any action. He has 13 career catches for 123 yards in 16 games (seven starts) since debuting in 2021.
