Emmanuel Ogbah News
The Miami Dolphins and defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah agreed to a four-year, $65 million deal on Monday that includes $32 million fully guaranteed at signing, according to his agent, Drew Rosenhaus. Obgah has really emerged with the Dolphins in the last two seasons, recording nine sacks in each of the last two years after he was originally a second-round pick of the Cleveland Browns in 2016 out of Oklahoma State. The 28-year-old had 41 tackles (26 solo), 12 passes defensed, one forced fumble and one fumble recovery in 17 games in 2021. Ogbah is a big part of Miami's improving defense.
Miami Dolphins defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah, who signed a two-year, $15 million deal in the offseason, said he wants to stay in Miami for the long haul. Ogbah has broke out in 2020 with eight sacks in nine games, trailing only Myles Garrett and T.J. Watt in the AFC. The 27-year-old former first-round pick of Cleveland in 2016 never topped 5.5 sacks in his previous four seasons. "He's got versatility," head coach Brian Flores said. "He can play inside, outside. He's tough. He plays against the run." Ogbah has also forced three fumbles this year and leads the team with 21 pressures. He currently ranks fourth among all defensive lineman in overall fantasy points in IDP leagues. Ogbah has become a weekly starter in those fantasy formats and has a good matchup against Denver this weekend.
The Miami Dolphins agreed to a two-year, $15 million deal with defensive end Emmanuel Ogbah on Tuesday. The deal includes $7.5 million in guarantees. Ogbah played in 10 games (four starts) for the world champion Chiefs in 2019 and tied a career high with 5.5 sacks while also tallying 32 tackles (23 solo) and one forced fumble. He won't move the needle much in IDP leagues. Miami has clearly made upgrading the defense a priority in free agency, already adding Ogbah, Kyle Van Noy, Shaq Lawson and Byron Jones. It won't make them immediately draft-worthy in fantasy, but they should definitely improve in 2020.
